I restored the wallet ok from backup and it shows all the previous transactions but zero balance. If I run the -salvagewallet option on it I get a 'cannot initialize keypool' error. I then deleted the wallet and ran the client again and still got the same error, so then replaced the wallet again from backup and this time it opened ok & again I can see the transactions & coins mined but it still shows a zero balance (apart from a few coins I successfully sent to the wallet this morning after I ran the fix).

p.s. Im not overly bothered about the coins, good to see the client is now working, and I did find a 15,000 block right off the bat on one of my miners

I guess you probably want to do a sync from scratch? This new chain does not change anything, only 3 PoW blocks will be lost.

My wallet has synchronized finally, I tried solo mining for a little while but found nothing, but then my 1.7MH/s compared to 80+MH/s network should not get much unless I run for much longer.

my wallet was encrypted and it wont make stakes if yours is, you need to open it up with command in the debug console. if its not encrypted I don't know what the problem is you should be getting some stakes.

Yeah I figured that out. I actually encrypted it a day ago or so because I thought I had to do that in order to get the stakes. I unlocked it with console because it said I couldn't get any stakes while encrypted. I still haven't gotten any stakes .. Not sure what to do, I have a lot of coins, but I would love to get some more

maybe u need to start it as server, I was in server cause I was soloing earlier when there was no pools and it was generating coins from stakes so I just left it in server mode.

if on windows u create a new text file in your Grain folder

put this in there

grain-qt-withblock38847reject.exe -server

then save it as .bat

you might need to change windows to show the extensions of files, you can google how to do that.

if you do it right when u double click the file it will open a black cmd prompt window then launch your wallet in server mode, it will re sync, re unlock it.

I don't think it will fix the problem but this is the method to allow solo mining anyways, so u should learn it

if u want to solo mine you put in a .conf file in appdata roaming grain directory according to example and then u can solo mine.

I have just started having an error on cgminer.  But it says the error and then closes straight away. How do I get it to print to file or stay on the screen so that I can see what error it is?

I recommend maybe just wait awhile with your wallet unlocked to see if the stakes happen. they will show up in Stake: if they are doing stuff

did you fix your wallet up with the directions posted previously? theres a new wallet that's fixed on a new block chain, it may be u have to wait a bit for the new chain to catch up to the old one (almost there I think)

or you might have to fix your wallet.

just post back here if you aren't getting stakes later and we can figure out why.

is anyone else having problems with rejects from forkpool?

I think its on my end cause it only happened now that my friend showed up and is playin LoL, but jw if anyone else is having this.

some of my rigs start dropping all rejects, and one of them  ( a different one this time, it happened twice) stays going just fine.

I wonder what could cause this strange behaviour but its probably just my network switches.
