I have mined for 7 hours with 2.2Mh/s,

and, I just got 20 orphans ONLY,

It is unbeliable, maybe I am in a fork ~ (even hard to belive it ^^)

I need a rest, and need to think again ~

Understand now. I had a similar experience that I detailed yesterday, I think it was 9 orphans in a row.

Seeing some bigger corrections today with my monitoring program... about 90 minutes ago a PoS block invalidated 7 PoW blocks. Lots of smaller corrections too.

Yes, when I got a block in my QT, i have compare with block chain,
And, it is replaced with PoS, and PoS is blocker time is eariler than my PoW,
I think, there are some kind of delay at PoS,
So, even the new block has found, local miiner keep minding a new block, and got an orphans,
After  i found a block, it is listed on blockchain, but, it is invalidated with the eariler found PoS,
Anyway, it is a general orphans process, it is normal.
But, too many orphans continously, maybe I am extremely no-luck
Or something wrong on my system ...
Anyway, i am trying to find a solution,
But, almost give up .. T..T

Even at 1.3, not happended, just locked couple of hours,
But, with 1.4, locked longer than 9 hours now

Have a nice day

I think it's more that PoS has a very high trust level, so a PoS block creates a small (one block) fork that wins. Example (not real numbers)

Chain 1: 5 new PoW blocks, +10 trust
Chain 2: 1 new PoS block, +100 trust

Chain 2 will win - higher trust - and invalidate the work on chain 1.

If you look at the genaretd PoS/PoW blocks, they are normal. If one PoW becomes orphan, the PoW block time will increase, which could cause the diff to decrease, and next block is easier. From the PoW block generation frequency, the target block time is within the designed range, I don't see anything abnormal.

See above for a PoS block that orphaned 7 PoW blocks. It was generated nearly 2 minutes after the first PoW block that it orphaned.

It is looks working well,

But, how two or three blocked which can be chained -or-
1-2 confirmed block can become an orphans

It is questionable, actually, i have seen some blocks become an orphan blocks even 3 confirmed and chained,
( chained : listed on BlockChain Explorer, and, gone after couple of minutes)

Example, 3 PoW has block has found and chained, it can be found in BlockExplorer
And, After couple of minutes all block has replaced with PoS,
And, the PoS blocks has most earlier time stamps than the three blocks.

Anyway, it looks normal, but, too frequently happen,

Actually, multi level orphans is the general situation for the young coins (low diff with high hash rate), actually, PoS has the low diff via hash rate. So, similar things can be happen also.

I can understand all of this things,

Only question is, How can get more than 21 orphans continuously over 7 hours, not in a minutes
Maybe I am a extremely unlucky guy or there are a reason,

I am not blaming about this coin,
Because of it is working well,
And most of them have no issues except me,
And, i just try to find what is my problem.
I am looking for a fault of this coin,

Have a nice day

Please look at the average block time of PoW blocks, everything is as designed.

That is very general ~ some time it is become an orphans after 2 confirmed (three PoWs are found in the block chain explorer at 10:55am, the block time stamps 10:54:10, 10:54:28, 10:54:46), but they are gone after couple of minutes, there are PoS blocks such as 10:53:48. It is an example, anyway, the owner of those three blocks are not same. Anyway, it can be happen but, too frequently happen. If I have a kind of real time block tracker or logger, i may can figure out

I guess, there is a kind of trap, it is very hard to be in,
and you and me are in those hole,
Anyway, if possible we have to find a way to escape for the others ^^

Has it improved for you? In the past couple of hours I can only see 7 small corrections (one PoW lost) and one slightly larger correction that orphaned 3 blocks.

In the 2 hours before that there were 65+ PoS corrections.

T-4 to T-2 had 65+ small to medium corrections
T-2 to T-0 had 8 small corrections

Bit of a difference?

good luck... I've been mining, seems the diff now is OK, it was shot up for a while, but now it seems more reasonable.

Cryptsy has been adding a lot of new coins lately. Personally, I'm switching over and mining for a bit while the difficulty is still really low. Coin has a lot of potential and now is the time to hop on.

I "monitor" the profitabilities of other coins, especially the ones that currently at the top of the coinwars list. Most times the grain wins. My calculations are simple: average block reward multiplied by the current exchange rate and divided with current difficulty for the coin. For example, compare to litecoin even after its forthcoming diff adjustment to ~2463 that should come in few hours the Grain has 3 to 1 advantage using my method. All other candidates either have very high diff or are victims of hoppers and thus it is not as effective to mine them solo. So I mine the grain. And, yes, I do have a faith in grain Smiley

Still having trouble connecting with solo mining. Using the sample . conf file, with all of those addnodes, and the updated (1.4) client.
