It's just hard to take crypto seriously with Doge this high, beating out all the innovative coins. You guys may not think it, but a really bad message is being sent. Meme > Innovation.
Then we wonder why adoption rates are so slow and people are skeptical to move from fiat to crypto.

Nay, sir:  COMMUNITY > Innovation

Do you really think that this coin would have the community it has if it wasn't based on a dog meme.... I highly doubt it.
The only reason it got as popular as it did is because most people that are in crypto these days are gamers and internet dwellers.
And thanks to Doge, it will likely stay that way for a long time. As an adult non gamer, I can't really see crypto being taken seriously.
Total Market Cap: $ 10,989,096,340 - That's all coins, it's actually not a lot of money in the grand scheme of things.
Coca Cola has a market cap that is 17 times all cryptocurrencies combined. And that is just one company.
If we want crypto to go up in the long term, we need people to build communities around innovation, not around memes.
I'm praying for the day that people grow up and start helping to contribute to the grand scheme of things.

Not really any fun at all, huh.

Yell at the kids, kick the doge, run over the kitteh, kinda guy.

Does anyone have more experience with https://anxpro.com/??
Made some trades and seems really trustworthy and fast for me.

Yup, we were formally known as Asia Nexgen and have been in operations since June 2013.  We are a registered company in Hong Kong and we follow the laws and regulations here. We are also a licensed Money Services Operator. This is the equivalent of a Fincen MSB in the USA.  Glad you had a good experience with us Cheesy

dogecoin is just an ltc clone, that had a whole bunch of memes and lolspeak created to promote it. why should a bunch of memes and loltalk be taken seriously?

Maintaining 25 - 35 GH/s net hashrate says it could be taken seriously.

Maintaining a price of ~45-50 satoshis says it could be taken seriously.

A host of services and fun things to do with your Dogecoin says it could be taken seriously.

The massive community it built organically (albeit bootstrapped from the meme) says it could be taken seriously.

DOGE is the dark horse (or dark doge?) of cryptocurrencies. Ignore it at your peril.. and this comes from someone who doesn't have a single Dogecoin to his name right now.

Quoting for gloating. Told y'all.

anyone use bter?

do not use bter.com if you search bter scam you'll see a bunch of results.  I thought I'd try it trading some small ones from a few thousand doges and gradually go up to a few million doges.  Everything went smoothly then when I tried to cashout bigger amounts of btc they kept my btc.  To me cryptsy and bter are the two least trustworthy exchanges for doges.  They are too valuable now to trust at those sites.

so far for me vircurex has been the fastest, never lost any coins there.  Cryptsy does some very shady things and they are slow but most people seem to get there coins after 15+ hours which when you are trading is costing you of a lot, I think bter outright steals coins.  I've done hundreds of trades on vircurex, all have gone well, all my withdrawals and deposits are fast.  Support can be lacking though but I think that's with all exchanges.

You can trade Doge on Cryptsy, Coins-E, Bter and Vircurex.

Cryptsy as got the biggest tradingvolume by far, though the site is damn slow, I am currently going pretty well with it.

I ve been trading on Vircurex for years, never had any problems, apart from some downtimes, though the design is kinda spartanic.

About 8000 until the halving (in about 2 days). Depends on the pool and luck.
