I was hoping this was real and we'd have a lot of innovative fpga based products coming to market.

Are you thinking that product specifications of 7 kH / s 10 W are possible? Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

They hadn't yet posted specs when I merit'd them. It's not impossible, but the numbers are a little too good. Could have been a case of overly optimistic performance/power estimates.

There is a scenario where this doesn't turn out to be a complete and utter scam.  They had some type of board.  The problem with the YouTube video was that it stopped/started every so many seconds, which led me to think that this board was not functioning as fast as claimed for any prolonged period of time.  Maybe it ran for 90 seconds and then crashed, over and over, and they didn't have the know how to solve the problem.

Maybe they followed the Vorrick funding method where you collect [other people's] money up front, figure out how to build your ASIC afterwards, and then deliver something... eventually.

It's possible they took the money, they hired or will hire someone who knows what they are doing, they will eventually pay the PCB manufacturer, they will take delivery of the boards, test the hell out of all of them for, oh, three weeks or so and then deliver out of the blue when no one expects it.

Blame the delay on the "Chinese LunarShot Monkey-Dog festival," or some such tripe.

I give that outcome <10% probability, but maybe.

That part in bold I have pondered in my head too.

Well if you guys don't hear something about tracking numbers next week and people starting to get FPGA's then I think we can get out the hammer and nails for the coffin.  Not looking too hopeful right now for anyone who sent money to the OP.  I hope you hear something this next week and start to get what you ordered.

I already said bye bye to it.
The fact that they deleted everything from youtube including the channel itself and the pictures on mega.co.nz plateform is enough for me.
I gave it up to this week end just out of principle but it's more wishfull thinking than anything else.
We got fucked, plain and simple and didn't read the writing on the wall.

Well, waiting for my real FPGA BCU1525 in August to have some fun Smiley

Anybody who lost money should get a good lawyer and try to file a lawsuit. Maybe it is possible to track them down, if they were not careful with hiding their IPs (which I doubt). It's worth a try, though.

And what are they gonna tell the lawyer? That they gave their money to an anonymous forum account?

Wouldn’t it be ironic if they really had the Dwarf miner and it really did work, but after reading here how it is a scam, they decided to keep the boards and the money and just set up their own mining farm...

It doesn't work that way. If there was a viable product they could have made many millions in batch 2, 3, 4, ...  a lot more that they could ever mine.

Schemes like this don't turn into scams. If it's a scam, it's a scam from the beginning.

At this point the silence is deafening from the OP or any updates on the board manufacture, ship dates, expected times for getting these out to customers.  You know, the sort of thing you would expect if this were legitimate.  So I would say no updates by the end of the week and it is time to kiss your money goodbye.  Depending on how much you have sunk into this it might be worth doing the leg work to track down some IP's and look at the bread crumbs to see if it is possible to chase your money down.

So follows the pattern of the approximately a 6-week scam, before all the lies, blow up...and stalling etc, etc.

again, sorry for anyone taken, if you paid via credit card and the PayPal route and less than 45 days..you may have a shot to get $$$ back yet...if

it is close to 45 days, you gain another 15 days on whatever, just by filing a 'dispute', at least how it worked 3 years ago with alpha-tech and Amex card.

so go thru PayPal dispute AND your credit card you used also their dispute ...do both

good luck!

Dwarf refunded all the paypal buyers and said they would have to re-pay with crypto or bank transfer. I purchased miners from them via paypal and was refunded and asked to pay with the other methods. Without paypal or credit card protection I declined to continue with my purchase. So looks like all who purchased did so with bank transfer or crypto. Best of luck to all.

Dwarf refunded all the paypal buyers

let me correct that for you:

Paypal took actions related to fraud and possible illegal activity.

Yes, probably. However paypal will lock down your perfectly legit account too for a laundry list of reasons. I have been a part of several completely legitimate product sales where this happened when a sudden influx of money happened in said account. It took a long time to resolve, but was indeed resolved, and I received my product and those companies/individuals now continue in business.

So yes, most likely, but you do not know that for a fact.

I stated what I said, because it was true and I meant it.

I do know it for a fact.  See my comment several pages back.  I asked a yes or no question to the powers that be; that I know on a first name informal basis; and got an answer.

If dwarf had been legitimate, he would have gone through the process of getting it approved; would not have told that many half truths, and not lied about some very specific details.  Plain and simple.

well, good to know he did not benefit from the PayPal folk...I'd think a majority of folk would NOT Have paid him in crypto on a PayPal dump....so maybe that means a lot less folk got screwed...

a 'good scare' for those who got back their funds via PayPal and walked....doubt they will try that again Smiley

I'm pretty sure the paypal thing was a bait and switch right from the start, they used paypal to gain trust, and then used a small technical excuse later as a reason to ask for crypto payment. Typical scam.
