Sorry guys - Just got the alarms from the server monitoring.... Had a DDoS on the EU server. DDoS protection kicked in but i had a brain fart and forgot to exempt the stratum ports from the filter so that traffic got dumped too!  Embarrassed

Sorted now though so we should be good.

Man - these guys don't even let up on xmas day....

Anyway - back to the wife, kids and monster-in-law. Grin

Merry xmas all!

that's the entire point of mining a coin from 0 difficulty.. you do get something even if you do not have a lot of hashing power, I am trying to upgrade my hashing power from the little I make, but hardware is very expensive where I live.. 1 R9 280x is around $500+shipping, a 290x is around $800+shipping
Where do you live? I live in Sweden where the taxes are fuckhigh and it costs $400 with shipping here (280x).

lol, you live in the dream land man. Here in Brazil ( highest taxes in the world and low salary) is that price too, unfortunately.
http://www.celebritynetworth.com/articles/entertainment-articles/10-countries-highest-tax-rate/
Sweden has the 2nd highest tax rate. Though a lot of people earn a lot of money, but the ones who cannot work (disabled, old people etc) earns well... shit. And it's expensive as fuck everywhere.
It's very hard to get a job without experience. If you have experience it's just hard.  Sure there is more unemployes in Brazil, but it's cheaper to live there too.

Guessing someone is ddosing the pools out there.
Are we watching someone trying to fork the chain? coinedup had suspended LOT trading a little earlier. Guess they are afraid of double spend.
Look at the block find list... Just filled to the rim of unknown and zero shares.

Now this might just be another hiccup from the buggy daemon. But one should expect someone is trying to lower diff for own personal gain, or forking it.

I recommend people setting up several nodes/solo mining as failover option in cgminer!

Those are prices from before it was activated. look at the left where you can normally buy/sell yourself. It says coming soon

The zero shares are all fixed - Out of order shares hit the DB and i've spent the last half hour unpicking the mess manually. All clean now though. Smiley

Yes - everyone that touches Lotto get's DDoSed, EVERY single server I have that is assigned to LOT is getting hit. The EU server is still being DDoSed as we speak... Unfortunately fine-tuning DDoS protection to block only the crap yet allow everything else takes time to perfect. As the attacks continue, we get better at mitigating them.

We may be a but wobbly for the next however long but we will be sticking around for the forseeable future. Don't forget the failovers as Svennand suggests.

Also make sure you set up failover to ALL of our stratum servers. The main pool and DB doesn't go down, it's only the stratums that get hit... we have enough on LOT that should mean you can continue mining regardless.

good to hear and good to see you are so involved. I rented a rig and pointed it to your pool. I hope everything will be fine within the next 24h. Its the US server.

Why is this coin getting that much attention from hackers?
Is it a threat for other coins? What motive could there be?

As a holder of several coins (not that much though), I am dissapointed with the marketing of this coin.
We should aim for much more publicity, before we miss the train.
No I am not talking pump and dump, but get as many early adopters as possible.. so this coin will have a broad and wide range of support.

Just my 2 cents though
