quick question  is there a pool comparison list for luck in this format.A simple chart like this one below

Block Statistics

Description----   Time  ---    MeanTx%--    Diff%    Mean%       CDF      Luck%
Last 5 Blocks       1.9days   101.3%       145.85%   145.85%   0.8520   68.57%
Last 10 Blocks     2.6days   101.6%       100.55%   100.55%   0.5489   99.46%
Last 25 Blocks     6.1days   101.7%       96.32%      96.32%    0.4526   103.82%
Last 50 Blocks    13.2days   101.4%      95.15%      95.39%    0.3883   104.83%
Last 100 Blocks  27.9days   101.4%      109.43%    110.01%   0.8419   90.90%
Last 250 Blocks  8.4wks     101.3%       93.43%       93.00%    0.1331   107.52%
Last 500 Blocks  18.9wks   101.2%       92.26%        91.08%   0.0206   109.80%

All - Last 921 Blocks   87.0wks   100.9%   93.56%   94.19%   0.0369   106.17%

I know you do pool stats I wondered if you have something along these lines.

I would say all pools over 250 blocks made should use this format above to clearly show luck.

Why?

Branch Ricky  the first general manager to hire a black manager leaguer Jackie Robinson. That is his quote

Most people think it just bad luck when a pool has a slow mining streak.  That assume all factors are perfectly equal.

The  256 algorithm is an equal factor for all of mining btc that is it for sure ,but

The servers.
The internet connections
The ddos protection
The pools coding
The Pool ability to detect bad miners doing a with holding attack.

Those are not equal  and will be reflected in the pools luck stats.

More in the long term  100 block 250 block counts.

So does a list like this exist  for each pool with 250 or more blocks found.

This post is designed as a handy short cut to help you find your favourite pool's forum thread, or shop for a new pool. The hashrate is an average based on a pool's published statistics for the week, unless that pool does not publish round history on API or html, in which case it's the hashrate when the list was updated. I'll endeavour to add more pools as I can.

What do you mean -- which are the top? They're not in order of reliability.

Greetings

"Cloud mining" means you don't actually have any mining equipment, is that right? On this board, we're concerned with bitcoin pooled mining, where users have their own equipment and use mining pools, rather than investing in cloud mining. You might find your answers in the "Marketplace" board.

Thanks for the information fronti.

It's sad -- BTCMP have been around a long time, mid-2011 if I remember correctly.

It's also the end result for any PPS pool unless it's sufficiently well backed.

Is there a pool with 0% fee like Ghash.io or Eligius but with lower variance (i.e. larger pool)? These 2 pools have been unlucky lately..

Unless you're like >1% of Eligius, variance for you can't really be reduced much more...

I beg to differ with eligius.st merged mining "Yes".

Allegedly eligius has merged mining.

In reality I never saw a single NMC (or a fraction thereof), nor any stats of what I would have been maybe eventually hypothetically have merge-mined. Nor any answer to my query about such.

I think it is safe for now to mark eligius.st as merged mining "No".

This would be better to post in the Eligius thread, so the pool op can comment.

hello any good pool for sha256 mining?

Look at the first post in this thread for a list. Bitcoin uses sha-256.

There are several good pools. As to which is the best; this is probably not the correct thread for that - there are weekly threads where people fight over it.
