This is one of those threads that will be around for years to come.   Someone should compile a "best of bitcointalk" thread and link these ones there...

Or it could be "Best bagholders in the recorded history of mankind".

at some point, all of us posters here will be labelled and watched closely, if not already.. Grin

i just sold all mine and reinvested in stamps Grin

Sold all and waiting for correction.

Learning to hodl takes experience.  Wink

Some of us have had to learn the hard way and have gained wisdom from the pain of waiting for "corrections" that never did come.

But perhaps you will be lucky?
Indeed good luck but Bitcoin is now a long-term investment, just be patient, my advice: if your balls and experience with speculation are sizable go to the Altcoins market $_$ just do not use mintpal, has been hacked  Sad

Still waiting for correction. Will see who has the last laugh.

Careful, corporate adoption will quickly lead to consumer legitimisation of btc. Reading the ignorant comments below any btc article shows there is a lot farther for bitcoin to travel

Yes. And good news such as DELL accepting bitcoin did not raise the price up. Imagine a negative news come out right now, I can see the price correct at least 10%.

i dont see the point buying stuff with bitcoins.
its just stupid to buy a computer that will last couple of years whilst one would be better off hodling bitcoins for that same timeframe.

Indeed, thats what I also thought, and this is as well a reocurring argument against Bitcoin, as in, people will just hoard it and keep using FIAT for exchange of goods, they are treating Bitcoin as gold, when it is supossed to be a currency, so this seems like a problem to me in terms of developing a legitimate currency.

I dont see bitcoin as a currency. And its definitely not an argument against bitcoin. Imho, bitcoin is the basis of a new digital environment of financial tools (whether currencies, equities, obligations etc.). People just dont get it (that currency thing is just a stupid argument for the masses because bitcoin indeed need them to react and grow). but people only need easy applications, and these new features are all going to end up tied to bitcoin's value, which i then hope to be MASSIVE.

As the unfamous Mircea Popescu would say: Bitcoin is a privilege. Grin

edit: and i expect a massive squeeze out of traders here in the next couple years because although bitcoin is here to stay, banksters are too..
so HODL my brothers & sisters! Cheesy

Reason why realcoin is a better medium for exchange.

I'm HODLING a little but I'm also diversified.

Unfortunately part of the diversification was with.... Coinex, so I got partly screwed.

Should have just HODLED. .

Syscoin has the best of Bitcoin and Ethereum in one place, it's merge mined with Bitcoin so it is plugged into Bitcoin's ecosystem and takes full advantage of it's POW while rewarding Bitcoin miners with Syscoin

I'm holding bitcoins but I have diversified too buying some altcoins, which I like to trade.
At the moment I have about 90% in bitcoin (HODL), 10% in alts(TRAED).

Probably a good idea to sell now and buy back later. Wait for the Ethereum wave to move on before getting in again.

Holding is a very wise thing to do! You can't make money by leaving this train now! If your GF is at a lesbian bar, just go to a gay bar to retaliate Cheesy Maybe you even meet someone nice, instead of being at home depressed Smiley

Hold your bitcoins until they are worth what you consider a fortune and you need the money to buy something useful

If I won't need them, I'll hold bitcoins untill the adoption rate among people and companies will be much more slower than now,
then I'll consider using btc for purchases.

Quote
One of the most annoying things about Bitcoin is that it’s so convenient to make payments with it that sometimes it is extremely tempting to spend it and avoid the hassle of using dollars. One of the ways to help deal with the temptation to spend is to demand a Bitcoin discount at any store that accepts Bitcoin. This is perfectly reasonable because not only is the store lowering its own costs by using Bitcoin, but it is asking me to give up an inherently superior commodity.

Hoarders are more important than merchants. If a restaurant downtown starts accepting bitcoins, this does not necessarily create an incentive for anybody to buy more bitcoins. Why would anyone bother if they can still just use a credit card? If you can convince a merchant to accept bitcoins and stop accepting dollars, then I’ll be impressed.

Unless a merchant is offering something that cannot be bought for dollars, or at least offering a discount, he is only benefiting Bitcoin to the extent that he encourages more hoarding. If he immediately converts the bitcoins he receives as payment into dollars, and if his customers only buy bitcoins so as to spend them at his shop shortly thereafter, then neither has much direct effect on Bitcoin’s demand. The real hero is the hoarder behind the scenes who buys from the merchant and enables him to convert his payments into dollars.
