Any thoughts on the 1 block retarget, average of previous 36 blocks idea?
This is very similar to the formula used by GalaxyCoin and causes very erratic difficulty adjustments, which practice means it will spend a small percentage of the time at the very top of the profitability charts, which nonetheless is enough to attract unwanted coin hopper attention; and the rest of the time either at the very bottom of the charts beneath LTC, or somewhere in the middle. We should be aiming for stability and credibility. There are far too many altcoins that exhibit this erratic behavior, and best security and usability and incentive for loyal miners is achieved by finding a way to keep the difficulty level steady and realistic, and profitability somewhere near LTC, never at the bottom, and never at the top of the profitability charts. Well I finally managed to sell off the MONA I had. That's another .07 or so BTC incoming, which nearly doubles my existing funds.
Also it seems DOGE is finally out of its hole, as well as a couple other Altcoins. Still not convinced that CAT is going to recover anytime soon though.
Welp now I'm at 462 CAT.

We also plan to patch a small issue with the tool that estimates the network hash rate. This tool has no bearing on the function of the coin, just how the wallet estimates the hashrate. In our opinion it is not reacting quickly enough to dramatic hash rate changes, which is why the wallet and catcoins.biz are so different in estimates. It's also affecting the diff predictions on IRC and at the pools.
Is there an ETA for this patch?

I wouldn't get too excited. There's still only a tiny amount of trading going on.

If you think the coin isn't going anywhere. Yes. But at the same time, people are buying up coins being dumped because they think the coin is going somewhere. The question should be this; which would you regret more? Not selling the coins now, and then the value dropping drastically, or selling the coins now, and the price going through the roof? I'm not going to tell you what to do with your coins. Either way, someone will benefit or lose from your actions. It could be the next Bitcoin, or the next Dimecoin. Or neither. Who knows.

Difficulty just crashed back down to 18.7. Odd, that wasn't meant to happen for another hour or so.

IMO, If you want to save CAT, we need: 1. Working wallets. 2. Official site - catcoin.biz is very good for that. 3. New forum - catcoin.biz is ok for that. First and second one help us to cooperate with other sites/services/projects. And how CAT can become popular without wallets for MacOS and Linux? Third point will help improve community and build new CATcoin team for further development/promotion.

Heat is still a bit of an issue for my R9 280x card, so It needs better cooling and I need to spend some time tweaking the settings, but otherwise I've got both my AMD and Nvidia card mining side by side for 20 hours or so now without any problems. I can get 15-20% more performance out of it once I've tweaked it, but for now I'm just happy to have them running.

guys help me save time (I would like to avoid reading 300 pages.) I'm trying to sync catcoind and I always reach this block: 20290 I tried several nodes and it is always the same, the reason I guess is the fork. Can you give me some recent nodes that would allow me to sync with the correct fork? this is the list I use right now:
addnode=eu.coinium.org:9933 addnode=us.coinium.org:9933 addnode=teamcatcoin.com:9933 addnode=108.54.144.63:9933 addnode=209.162.15.139:9933 addnode=94.134.24.71:9933 addnode=188.230.218.60:9933 addnode=123.211.181.88:9933 addnode=172.245.21.138:9933 addnode=50.162.94.94:9933
You need to download the new wallet. It's in the OP. Delete everything in your roaming folder except for your catcoin.conf and wallet.dat. Download and run new wallet. presto. (Remember to back up your wallet.dat before doing this!) Coinium should connect you to the blockchain.

I don't know about the nodes, but do you have the latest wallet installed ? I just installed it and it syncs fine. The link is in the OP post.
