so I am doing simple mining  and trying grin 29

grin29.f2pool.com:13654 -u philiparcario@yahoo.com -p x

will this work?

well it does not   so what do I have wrong

that email is the f2pool email

do I need the simple mining pool email?

I just switched to F2Pool from GrinMint and getting better hasrates. I didn't use the email method for my username. Try bminer on SmOS and use this config;

-uri cuckaroo29://username.rig name:foo@grin29.f2pool.com:13654 -api 127.0.0.1:1880

So on f2pool you have to add your rig name?  I haven't messed with gpu's all that often but I have a couple rigs (mix of 1080tis, 1080s and 1070s).  I used vosk's walkthrough.  Used his config, have my user name.  Dont know how to get my rig name.  And what's after the : (foo in your case)

Edit: I'm using simplemining as well.

You can create your own rig name. For example, my rig name is a number -  10.

I'm not sure why the ":foo" phrase is needed- but I couldn't mine without it. Anyhow mine looks like this:

-uri cuckaroo29://atckit1.10:foo@grin29.f2pool.com:13654 -api 127.0.0.1:1880

In vosk's write up he has voskcoin.boom.x:

Where on f2pool do you name your rig.  And if I have 2, do I need to have 2 rig names and use 2 different configs in simplemining?

It was automatically added. Yes, i use different numbers for different rigs. I only have two rigs, 10 and 11, mining GRIN.

Here are the notes on this when I login to F2Pool and select the coin I want o mine and then click on the workers tab:

How to add new workers
Connect to the same LAN with your miners, log into the management page of the miners.
Input the worker's name, whose format is: username+dot+number. Ex: if your mining account is atckit1, the format should be: atckit1.001 .
Save the settings.

Mine the 31 algorithm on grin for great justice and more money
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5090427.msg49428796#msg49428796

It's the one designed for asics, but there aren't any at least till the summer, so your high end cards will do well...

Phil, Happy Birthday in advance!

Voskcoin showed how to deposit on BitForex using the userid method.

I was able to send some coins from GrinMint to BitForex using another method- albeit more awkward:

Tested c29 at f2pool with 4 x 1080ti but soon abandoned this testing because power consumption can peak above 200w with this cuckcoo algo.

Would you know if it hits 200w even if PL is set lower? I get massive instability with my 7x 1080ti rigs at 70% PL and went back to another coin, which is 3x less profitable.

Wondering if it's unstable because it's exceeding my 1500w psu limit. I can never exceed 5.8gps with 7x 1080ti rigs too despite only 40% cpu usage (G4560), but a rig with only 3 does 6.3-6.4 easily at 70% PL.

do you have a better cpu like an i5

it looks to be worth  testing with an i5 cpu

okay here is another question about mining grin.

In my house I have 1 rig with an:
 amd 1800x cpu
1 rtx 2070

win 10

I also have a rig with
an:
amd 2700x cpu
1 sapphire rx 580 8gb

win 10

A rig with a thread ripper 1920
4 vega 56

win 10

I can not access the simple mining gear until monday or tues

so do i try the rig with the rtx 2070 on f2pool?

if so do I download win 10 software.

gminer  says it works for win 10 only cuda/nvidia

gminer  says it works for win 10 only cuda/nvidia
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5034735.0

using gminer on win 7 .. the latest v1.23 beats bminer in my opinion, observed the lower cpus like q8400 to more powerful like i7 3770, fx 6300 doesn't make much difference in G/s ..can hit ~6.9 G/s at 80 power limit (1080ti).

can run at 4GB system ram, and 30-40GB pagefile.

made my rigs from a 4 gpu rigs to a 3 gpu rigs, there was an issue that reduce hashrate in 4 or more cards in a rig like cutting almost half of the G/s. don't know if the issue was resolved but i'm sticking to 3 gpus per rig for now.

thinking that a 3 gpu rig is a sweet spot because any psu that goes beyond 1200w is priced heavily for the extra 300 or 400w, also using the biggest and baddest the 1080ti or 2080ti will not max out your psu and running them at 70% or 80% will run the psu at a good spot in the "efficiency curve" of the psu, most 1200w have 6 pcie connectors (you can connect 2 per card for cable/socket overloading protection), you can run your gpu at 100 PL if needed..

scroll down, there is a "minerPage.tab.income" and there is a "minerPage.income.transaction" there, it is the reference tx id (amount and other info is also there).

i think sparkpool payout option is only choosing through an exchange deposit address, that is why it is binded through your email to verify the "binding process".

mine is a bitmesh binded deposit address.

so  if I setup 12x 1080ti  I would be around 82.8 + the 6 from the 2070 that is 88 or 89 gh.

what is that in grin a day

I have been doing the 2070 for 3 hours and got  0.02 so x 8 = 0.16 grin for 6 gh  x 15 = 2.4 grin x 13.50 =  32 a day hey that is really good.

Seems too good.

Does 90gh do 32 USD a day in grin?

1000 a month is pretty good if it is right and lasts.

Grin is good Phil - Was better a few days ago.  But it's still good.  I'm on F2pool, with 75 mhs, and I get 2.5 GRIN per day.

Seriously Phil, since you are already on sparkpool that's great.
From the first block till today, c31 has outperformed c29 especially with hardware such as 1080ti's.
This seems to be leveling out.

If I where you, I would:

a)Put half of your 1080ti's to mine c31 with Minerbabe.
b)Put the other half of the ti's to mine c29 with always the latest release of Bminer (currently 14) - subject to change.
Lets us know how the ti's work out for you.
c)Put all your AMD based cards to mine c31. Probably perform just a bit better from c29.

All of that, yesterday. You'll thank me later Grin

PS1: Don't link sparkpool to exchange. You can't revert it. Use the email withdraw option only (when that appears).
PS2: The 2070's probably need to mine c31 also.

I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass ... and I'm all out of bubblegum.
