Looks like RX 470/570 are crazy cheap on eBay right now. About $80-90USD before shipping.

Are any of you guys still loading up on GPUs or packing it in?

The VEGAs are still pretty expensive at the moment.

SRBminer is one of the best (if not THE best) around currently. He's just been sharing his latest version 1.6.8 with the community and they've been testing over in his thread. I'll have to spend some time and set it up shortly before the fork. Using the algo switching it provides, I can point my Vegas to MoneroOcean and let it switch between different CN algos. Pretty sweet.

Setting up the MoneroOcean multi-algo settings in SMOS using xmr-stak was quite easy and straight forward.

Setting up MoneroOcean on SRBminer needs a bit of learning curve.

Wished SRBminer availabale in Linux so that SMOS can add it as one of the CN miners.

Can you help me setup monero ocean on my simplemining? I have 6 RX 570 4gb and the hash its 5,15Ks. On claymore. But i Will like to try monero ocean. Unfortenely i am not very good at doing this stuff. I can pay you off course. Nobody work for free. Thanks in advance.

The VEGAs are still pretty expensive at the moment.

I found a stack of EVGA 1070's for $220 on my local craigslist and was able to whittle him down to $200/card. Hop on it? I'd have to scrape together the liquid cash but dang if it isn't tempting. I pay between $0.105-$0.132 Kw/h though so the ROI is not too great (installing commercial power that will bring my bill down from $0.13 residential to $0.105 and then $0.09 with added usage.)

What was the MSRP for those 1070's? I think around $400 USD? So $200 a GPU is about 50%

The RX series I think are going for like 30-40% of MSRP and they are much cheaper to begin with. And I don't think they will depreciate anymore since they are still good gaming cards especially when you go Crossfire.

No need to pay anything - glad to help.

here is my settings - mining directly to Bittrex XMR account. The port selected is a proxy for 100kh/s GPU farm.

In SMOS, choose xmr-stak miner (works for both AMD and NVIDIA GPUs)

Thank you very mutch. This Will work with monero 8 yes? With the new miner, not that v_7 miner.

I dont think so....

I use this pool for XHV mining currently - it also tracks all Cryptonight coins and their forks.

https://miner.rocks/

Please take note that MoneroOcean is multi-algo of various forks of CryptonightV7.... like Saber, haven etc. Automatic selection of the most profitable coin to mine (XMR/GRFT/ITNS/AEON/MSR/RYO/XTL/XHV/TUBE/LOKI) and block reward conversion to XMR.

If true, these prices would be temporary. They would recover at least to $120, maybe more.

I think the VEGA is expensive is that it is good for mining XMR related coins. I will wait for the price drop to buy more.

Latest xmr-stak v2.5 and 2.4.7 in SMOS supports v8

The cool thing is that you select the algo to be just "monero" and it will mine v7 and switches to v8 on D-day automatically

I have this setup in nanopool currently with some test rigs (NVIDIA and AMD) and its happily mining v7.

Meantime, both GPU farms are fully up mining XVH until 2359 17th October.
