hi, i just modified slax linux distro specifically for gpu and cpu mining, i prefer slax because you can run it without any storage device (harddisk or flashdisk) since it can copy itself entirely to run from PC memory, which is cool !

build 0.3-beta2 update 0.3 final are ready, go to http://www.cryptoslax.web.id

CryptoSLAX 0.3, download (316 MB) or on official website : http://www.cryptoslax.web.id
screenshot

Features :
  • only need minimal 512 MB USB FlashDisk
  • can run with unplugged flash disk, since SLAX can copy itself to run from computer RAM
  • built-in cgMiner-3.7.2 with support for GPU scrypt (ltc, doge & friends), scrypt:2048 (vertcoin), SHA256 (bitcoin), keccak(sha3:maxcoin)
  • built-in yvg1900 protoshares cpu miner (all 64-bit variation of CPU)
  • built-in jhPrimeMiner xpm cpu miner (all 64-bit variation of CPU)
  • built-in clPts 0.2.2 (protoshare opencl miner)
  • built-in vertcoin cpu miner from max.1gh.com
  • built-in cgminer bitcoin miner (asic) 3.12.3
  • built-in vnc-server, sshd, smbd (automatically run out-of-the-box)
  • built-in AMD Catalyst 13.12 with ADL SDK 6.0 and AMD APP SDK 2.9
  • minimal installation, only KDE desktop with text-editor, web-browser, and file-manager

How To Install :
  • 1. Extract the content of .7z to formatted flash disk with FAT32 Partition
  • 2. Run [FLASHDISK]\slax\boot\bootinst.bat (on linux run bootinst.sh)
  • 3. Boot from it (make sure persistence changes is checked for first boot)
  • *. if needed, root password is toor

Changes :
  • updated AMD Catalyst to 13.12 , APP SDK 2.9, and AMD ADL 6.0
  • custom re-compiled x86_64 kernel to support AMD IOMMU
  • automatically detect AMD GPUs on first boot, and set x.org.conf
  • auto run VNC-server for display 0 on port 5901 on KDE login (warning : no-password!)
  • auto run SMB-server on boot (warning : no-password! , root access!)
  • auto sync local time with ntp server on boot
  • fully working KDE desktop, now dbus is working (you can copy-paste now, lol!)
  • clean-up using .sb, rootcopy folder now only has miner config files
  • now i call it CryptoSlax since slax-cryptominer is too long
  • added KDE mainmenu items to launch miner or edit miner config files
  • on launching miner, it will create screen session before run the miner, so you can access it from ssh remotely

warning : this distro is not secure, there are no firewall, and most service are open for root access without password
note: this is beta version, please report any kind of bugs or feature request

Great, I was waiting for a Linux x64 dedicated mining distro.

Which AMD SDK and Catalyst drivers are installed?

Thanks!

What, no iso?

It would be nicer to try as an iso as a virtual machine first before having to reboot anything.

also 2. run [FLASHDISK]\slax\boot\bootinst.bat doesn't work in MacOS.

It's short for Thomassina ⚥ • BTC veteran, Bitcointalk neophyte • BTC1THoM4cn8hHTyE637DEPMCLcerZe1mL1X • Cex.IO Cloud Mining - don't risk preorders, mine & trade now!

well sorry about that limitation, but there's should be a tool that convert bootable flashdisk into iso, and if you want to try it on VM it just wont work since they can't find AMD GPU there

I can't get this distro to work with multiple gpu's,...getting "ADL found less devices than opencl".  Tried with just a 6870x2, it would only see one gpu & run at half speed.  Then tried a 7950 with a 7870 Myst LE, both give error -1.  With only 1 gpu it worked great.  Any ideas on how to update the video drivers?  I've tried dummy plugs, hooking up each card to monitors, aticonfig --adapter=all (get "parsing the command-line failed", wants aticonfig --inital run first), aticonfig --adapter=all --initial -f.  Even re-ran # cd /opt/radeon-setup/   # ./radeon-setup.sh  reboot.  All without success & google hasn't helped so far besides saying it's a driver issue. thanks

This worked for getting multiple GPU running for me...

aticonfig --adapter=all --initial
aticonfig --adapter=all --initial

(Yes, run twice.  First time only saw one device section, second time saw all.)

amdsetup

aticonfig --adapter=all --initial

(Yes, again.  Should see found device for every card you have)

reboot

For faster boot/run, modify /slax/boot/syslinux.cfg...

After line 4 (TIMEOUT 40), add the following line:
ONTIMEOUT default

At the end of line 33 (that starts with APPEND vga=normal...) add ,toram

This will cause it to copy itself to RAM at boot time automatically.

In case you have issues with cgminer and X taking up way to many CPU cycles, modify /slax/boot/syslinux.cfg...

After line 4 (TIMEOUT 40), add the following line:
ONTIMEOUT default

At the end of line 33 (that starts with APPEND vga=normal...) add nohz=off highres=off

I had to do this on one of my rigs (but not all).  The completed line as I have it looks like this...

APPEND vga=normal initrd=/slax/boot/initrfs.img load_ramdisk=1 prompt_ramdisk=0 rw printk.time=0 slax.flags=perch,xmode,toram nohz=off highres=off

This was a problem for me when running I=20 or trying to run multiple instances of cgminer. Hopefully that helps anyone else with the same problem.

I'm starting to like this distro, thanks uray. Lot of potential.

I tried these changes but unfortunately my mini rig 2x5970 1x5850 has always a big lag and the cgminer on the terminal windows can't display the stats. I've tried running the "screen" command but nothing... the GPU's runs but I cannot say how it runs, and logging the process with 2>logfile.txt seems to be ok...
The Intesity is 18 on all GPU.
I suppose it's a bad driver + SDK combination for me.

However a PC with only 7850 works flawlessly.

Anyway Thank you  Smiley

I assume you are experience the lag on a local terminal window?  If you start your miner in the background with the screen command, you can then SSH over to watch without the lag.

Ohhh good solution, logged with putty and yes I finally see the cgminer stats but without hardware monitor (GPU temperature and FAN velocity) and with a lot of Hardware Errors from all the GPUs and the Hashrate is less then my cgminer in Windows.

Check your BIOS.  Many motherboards come with fan set to full speed, and you can change it to auto instead.

Weird.  I've yet to see cgminer not display temps when hardware monitoring is enabled.  Have you tried running without any settings beyond pool?

I believe the first version he released was 13.4 driver version, so maybe see if that one works?

Sorry, don't know what else it could be.

Try both versions of the distro?  Considering that one is using 13.4 and the other is using 13.8, I would think one of them might work!

The "catalyst" module is in the first version.  The "experimental" module is in the latest version.  I guess you could try the "legacy" (13.1) module.

I wish I could help, but I've never seen cgminer not recognize a card after seeing it with the -n argument.

Regarding persistent changes, that is a default boot option. You do not have to do anything. I'm guessing the problem is that you are creating your startup scripts or configs in the /opt/cgminer/ directory? If so, that directory gets overwritten at boot. You either have to add the files offline (/slax/rootcopy/opt/cgminer/), or save them elsewhere. I just create scripts in /root/ (which is persistent) using command line arguments to start cgminer.

i recompiled the default slax 7.0.8 kernel to support AMD IOMMU on build 0.3, it is tested working on motherboard Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3, will be uploaded soon

uray, thanks for the builds.  Working well on 2 new rigs here.  Appreciate the efforts.

build 0.3-beta update

CryptoSLAX 0.3, download (316 MB)
screenshot

Ongoing edit saga of getting this going, hehe.  So, what I've found now is that if I start the miner from the actual computer, ie mouse and keyboard, I get the GPU temps reported correctly, but if I ssh in and start cgminer, then I can't get temps.  It's weird because anubis will even get temp data when I start it locally, but gets 0's if I start remotely.

Im testing this distro (0.3b), however im having issues running the cgminer-opencl on a Dual R9 290, for some reason it always generates HW errrors, tested several parameters like

Code:
cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://middlecoin.com:3333 -u username -p x --thread-concurrency 20481 -w 256 --lookup-gap 2 -X 256

Tried several concurrency values and they all generate HW errors.

Tested the verticoin GPU miner and it works fine (and produces the normal KH/s for the cards), and so does the Protoshare GPU miner.. anyone else had any luck running the scrypt miner of this distro???

Hmmm, okay, so the two bugs I've gotten so far are;

1) I can't SSH in and start a rig - it won't report temp data if you do that.

2) 2 of the 7 rigs don't boot at all, and just hang at "looking for slax data in /slax...."

Great work so far!

I may stick with 0.2. Don't need/want VNC or SMB. kalroth-cgminer would be a nice addition for the next version though!

When running bootinst.bat (win 7 x64) it just states it can't find the specified path, though obviously I can get into the USB drive just fine to run it. Thoughts?

Otherwise this looks great so far, keep up the good works Cool

I can confirm that there is something wrong when mining with R9 290's (not sure if other cards mine fine with scrypt). The same cgminer.conf works fine on bamt, giving me 850KH/s on each card, when tested with this distro on the cgminer included, I just get HW errors

Heres the settings im using

Code:
"intensity" : "20",
"vectors" : "1",
"worksize" : "256",
"lookup-gap" : "2",
"thread-concurrency" : "27400",
"shaders" : "0",
"api-listen" : true,
"api-port" : "4028",
"api-allow" : "W:127.0.0.1",
"expiry" : "120",
"gpu-dyninterval" : "7",
"gpu-platform" : "0",
"gpu-threads" : "1",
"gpu-engine" : "950,950",
"gpu-memclock" : "1375,1375",
"gpu-powertune" : "20,20",
"temp-target" : "83,83",
"temp-overheat" : "90,90",
"temp-cutoff" : "95,95",
"log" : "5",
"no-pool-disable" : true,
"queue" : "1",
"scan-time" : "60",
"scrypt" : true,
"shares" : "0",
"kernel-path" : "/usr/local/bin"

I'll try and see if i can recompile the cgminer-opencl and see if it was a bad compile or its the built in amd drivers

1) if u want to get temp data, you need AMD ADL running in your ssh session, that is when ssh session started inside xorg, the easiest one is just remote using vnc client, then start console, and create screen session (screen -S mysession), then you ssh into your machine and run screen -r mysession, that screen session will have ADL enabled

2) is it AMD based motherboard chipset, if that so u need to enable AMD IOMMU in your bios, then clean your slax usb then try boot again

where u got stuck?

its simple, format your flashdisk into FAT32 partition, extract .7z contents into your flashdisk, then run [FlashDisk:]/boot/bootinst.bat as administrator, then boot using your flashdisk ( u might need to change boot order settings in your BIOS)

ok, i figured it out.  my flash drive was plugged into a usb 3.0 slot and my mouse and keyboard were in a 2.1 slot, i put the flash memory into the 2.1 slot with the mouse and keyboard with IOMMU enabled and all is well!! :-)

I love crypto slax but am having an issue with resolution and module downloads. i can access internet fine, but trying to install any modules from slax.org results in a 'check your connection' error. Max resolution i can get is 800x600 (connected via amd 5450 vga). The .sb are in /modules for amd, catalyst,etc. aticonfig recognizes the adapter. it just cant go higher than 800x600, and what seems to be 16 bit color and horrible type (blurry). couldnt set manual virtual desktop size with xrandr either. I'll probably end up just configuring it remotely.

Thanks man, excited about the new version.  Is this going to have cgminer 3.7.2 for scrypt instead of the 3.7.3 (which is broken)?

Now I just have to get PXEBoot working for slax (2/3rds of the way there, hehe)

Also, is 1UrayjqRjSJjuouhJnkczy5AuMqJGRK4b your BTC address?

Thanks for the update! I just tested.. out of the box cgminser-scrypt was giving segfaults. Trying to access the AMD Control panel didnt detect the R9 290 cards however aticonfig --list-adapters did showed the two cards. Decided to reinstall the AMD linux drivers 13.12 and bingo!!! AMD Control Panel now detects the card and I was able to start mining scrypt on GPU Smiley

Did the patch get moved?  Don't see it on the website.

Haven't gotten to actually test cryptoslax on PXE yet, got everything setup but couldn't get the pxe files from slax easily (without unplugging the USB stick) so I stopped for the day, and I haven't had a chance to give it a shot again yet.

Hello,

Does it need to start x automatically ? It is booting and stop at Starting up X11 session manager...
Then I log in ,and 127.0.0.1 is last output.

How to start graphic interface?

I`v get everything working , but now I want to enable my onboard GPU to use like primary (to connect monitor on it)
Because I think vertminer disable 1 thread on my GPU where monitor is connected now.

I have enabled onboard GPU but cant make it primary.

Best mining platform ever ! Left windows for this Cheesy

So is there a current version with cgminer 3.7.2? 3.7.3 broken as stated earlier, and the mega download (beta7) does not include 3.7.2. Downloading from the web server, but awfully slow.

Downloaded from mega. Nice speed as usual.

Can anyone provide a good reference about setting up a PXE server for the farm? I´m very interested in this as great solution for scaling up.

Just finished downloading from the main website. Looks like it is newer than the mega link in the OP. Includes 3.7.2 and working well.

Looks great!

You should colab with phpminer for the webinterface Smiley these 2 together would be a dream!

+1 would love to see at least the phpminer rpcclient builtin and a compatible cgminer (i thinkg the current one wont work correctly since im getting some NaN on 5s avg hash rates)

Keep up the great work with this distro Smiley

Hey! NICE WORK!!
For anyone having issues with iommu or keyboard/devices not recognized I had to add:
iommu=soft
in the boot option list.

I need to use a static ip for every rig but I see you did some care-free-script to take care of everything in /etc/rc.d/rc.inet that prevent the rc.inet1.conf from loading.
What can I do?
How do you boot automatically the miner? Using the .kde/Autostart folder files?

Finally a 64Bit distro!  Grin
Will give it a shot once I find some spare time.

Is there any monitoring with auto-mining-restart or autoreboot implemented like cgmon?

You need to add the mentioned option into the boot command line of the bootloader.
Maybe this will help you:

I had the same thing happen. You will need to download the development version off the cryptoslax website and compile the Ethernet drivers yourself.
Dev, please add native support for AR8161 Ethernet drivers (I had to compile from source from this https://www.dropbox.com/s/q9nthtvx3gk5gnt/compat-drivers-2013-03-04-u.tar.bz2).

Dev, please also add veox sgminer (http://github.com/veox/sgminer) and Zuikkis sgminer (http://github.com/Zuikkis/sgminer). The latter is sgminer with nfactor support.

Also, +1 to embedded phpminer and cgmon.

As a noob to slax, how the hell do I get the wicd module to work? I tried dropping the module into usb/slax/modules and it doesn't work...?

Hi,

I tried to run Cryptoslax on my own today but have some trouble with segementation faults.

First, until now I run BAMT which is 32Bit and therefore only 2GB of my 8GB were available.

With Cryptoslax I hoped to be able to increase thread concurrency  from 24550 to 32765 which should be best for R9 290.

However, even with TC=24550 I get errors from cgminer-opencl and also with the self-compiled sgminer 4.0.0:
Code:
[11:55:13] Failed to init GPU thread 0, disabling device 0
[11:55:13] Restarting the GPU from the menu will not fix this.
[11:55:13] Try restarting sgminer.

[11:55:13] Error -61: clCreateBuffer (padbuffer8), decrease TC or increase LG

This is my config:
Code:

Why if start vertminer GPU from terminal getting error that GPU not available ? But if i start from Slax menu it working and mining ?
I tried also run /opt/miners/vertminer/start-sessions.sh and /opt/miners/vertminer/start.sh -  same error.
How actually may I run vertminer in terminal and detach screen as in BAMT ?

Cryptoslax64 0.3.1-beta1 is available to download from http://www.cryptoslax.web.id

new :
 * sgminer (untested)
 * heavycoin cpu miner (for 1gh.com : tested)
 * cgminermonitor.com client
    as .sb module, simply download, place it into [FLASHDRIVE:]/slax/modules
    or on running slax, download with wget, and execute "slax activate /path/to/file.sb"
 * fix some gnu screen issues
 * better autostart system, simply chmod +x autostart-session.sh inside miner directory, to make it autorun after boot
 * added apache+php+mysql for local web serving, for futher development of rig monitoring and control
 * added google chrome browser

this is beta version, you know what it means, even on non-beta version i can't guarantee everything will work

TC is "GPU thread concurrency" i doubt it has anything to do with your system memory, TC mostly are number of GPU execution thread to be spawn to run on your GPU and use your GPU memory

uray,
Thanks for recent update, autostart feature works great.
I got two questions:
1. How may i run vertminer (GPU) when connected via SSH ? Direct run just don't detects any GPU.
2. I saw that vertminer link points to /opt/miners/vertminer/start-session.sh, but it works only if run it inside X session not ssh, why so ?

Also it is good to add some gpumon/viewgpu stat as BAMT has, so it will be easy to parse miners state via terminal.

Ok, TC is not related to system memory. What else could cause the memory errors at an average TC?

edit: Thx uray for all your efforts. I tried the latest version which is now working with every TC as long as it is not too low.
However, I can configure my cards with various gpu clock, memclock, TC and they ALWAYS get a max of 750kh. It even seems like the config has no impact on the speed as it doesn't matter if I clock something 100mhz higher or lower. The .conf file is loaded right as all my pools are available.

Very odd. Tried also with sgminer and cgminer-kalroth - but same behavior.

Btw: replace last line of start.sh in the sgminer-folder with "./sgminer -c mining.conf".

Uray,
Thank you for the 0.3-beta1 update!
Did you change any drivers in the OS? Kernel update?

I was unable to run 0.3 on my AMD system to any usable form (even with the IOMMU enabled) but the beta1 solved everything. Booted right up!
I've been wanting to try CryptoSlax for a while; not I can.

somehow you need to run vertminer on terminal that is started inside X session, otherwhise it wont detect GPU or no GPU temperature info available, on 3.1.1 beta there are terminal session that auto executed inside X session, you can attach to this terminal and start your miner, try "screen -x xterminal" or something

as for TC, i never optimize it on TC because i always use gpu-threads = 2, what GPU are you using?

I think I know what the change was.
I removed one GPU from the test rig I was using. So with 2 GPUs I can be up and running just fine, but with 3 GPUs I get a kernel panic upon boot.
How many GPUs are you testing CryptoSlax with?

Thanks, it works as you said
Code:
screen -x 3240.vertminer
But i also need a way to start and restart vertminer via terminal, is it possible ?
Doing this in normal way - I go login in VNC X session, then press Q on running vertminer terminal, then click on vertminer icon. Too lot actions.

UPD.
I got it how to run simple app on Xscreen, for example
Code:
ssh -X root@192.168.1.101 DISPLAY=:0 xterm
So it will start xterm on xServer, but if i try to run vertminer
Code:
ssh -X root@192.168.1.101 DISPLAY=:0 /opt/miners/vertminer/start-session.sh
root@192.168.1.101's password:
X11 forwarding request failed on channel 0
Must be connected to a terminal.
No screen session found.

UPD2.
I manage to get vertminer and cgminer started from terminal by modifying startup file
Code:
#!/bin/sh
export GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=100
export GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS=1
cd /opt/miners/vertminer
screen -d -m -S vertminer /opt/miners/vertminer/vertminer -c /opt/miners/vertminer/mining.conf

But here is one caveat, vertminer/cgminer started in such way don't show GPUs temps and fan speed.
Code:
 [P]ool management [G]PU management [S]ettings [D]isplay options [Q]uit
 GPU 0:                | 117.3K/196.6Kh/s | A:1152 R: 0 HW:1 WU:214.4/m I:18
 GPU 1:                | 115.3K/196.6Kh/s | A:1152 R:64 HW:0 WU:204.3/m I:18

Looks as if you need some employees for support Wink

I have R9 290s which are always working with only 1 gpu-thread (never saw someone with another setting on this card) and they never go above 60°C thanks to watercooling. But as we are speaking about temperature right now - this information never showed up with this distro because the miners are here working only with --no-adl parameter.

Did you happen to save your conf while in the cgminer window (s,w)?  if you save through the cgminer client, it saves cgminer.conf in the root/.cgminer folder or something like that.  That always overrides the mining.conf in the /opt/miner/cgminer folder.

I have my own problem though,  why can't I connect with vnc? I get an error that the connection was actively refused.

You can set it to autostart by
running "chmod +x autostart-session.sh" while in the miner's directory.
Like this:

cd opt/miners/sgminer
chmod +x autostart-session.sh

I'm trying to run a rig proxy from leaserig.net but it says "No such file or directory" even though the file exists. According to its developer it needs libc-dev-i386 for ubuntu. I tried to upgrade glibc on slax but no chance Sad

Anyone can help me to run it?

Linux Mining Distro is such a great idea. I setup a lot of Hyper-V clients for my customers. But we always need some physical hardware to RDP into the Hyper-V client. I like 2X OS for this, as I can set it up on an old used computer and it makes a perfect thin client desktop.

How cool would it be it this mining distro allowed RDP once setup. So I could build a thin client for my customer that gave remote access for his employee and mines coin at the same time. I don't even think the end user would notice the CPU usage as all of the work is done on the Hyper-V client. Or even better mining only starts when a remote connection is not detected.

Something to think about?

I almost totally agree with you.

+1 for YACminer, it´s a great one.

I would like some reference info about the PXE Boot, this is a killer application for medium / big farms. I found no good info about this on Slax.

PHPminer, while still in development, it´s also a great web interface.

Post your full 290 configuration please.

I just love your software!
Since i am not familiar with linux at all, this plug and play software is fantastic for my needs.
Would love to be able to run my gridseeds in the same plug and play config...

Would it be possible to code: if cpu is not mining, mine with low priority for you?
Since i dont think all of us is cpu mining, it could speed up "donations" to keep you working on this software?
I do cpu mine xpm, how can a noob finetune this?

Thank you very much

You can set it to autostart by
running "chmod +x autostart-session.sh" while in the miner's directory.
Like this:

cd opt/miners/sgminer
chmod +x autostart-session.sh
This will autostart sgminer, how to autostart cpu mining at same time?
Thnx again for great setup!

I suspect that uray is not working on this any more.  No developments or website for a while now.

Too bad, it is my favorite is for mining.  I have one rig running it that is very stable and I rarely have to touch it.  I am looking to move over to PimpOS, though it isn't as good or as easy. IMO.

How to compile a new version of the sgminer. I need x11 quark. GRS these algorithms. Thank you very much for your work!

you need the module coreutil.sb that you can grab from slax site or that you can directly activate in the console:

Code:
slax activate coreutils
 or perhaps that is:
Code:
slax activate modtools
 I dont know I didn't try, but I did try this
Code:
slax activate git

then you navigate under the directory /opt/miners There are all the miners you want to modify or to add new ones.

to add the optimized X11mod :

Code:
git clone https://github.com/lasybear/sph-sgminer_x11mod
cd sph-sgminer_x11mod
./autogen.sh
./configure
make

then modify mining.conf with your user data

and you are good to go with ./start.sh under that directory

If you want to preciously keep the install you made as a module, once you are done playing with it, just try:

Code:
dir2sb /opt/miners/sph-sgminer_x11mod /mnt/live/memory/bundles/4015-x11mod.sb

That should save your install under modules directory. Not sure how this works however, because those changes are already saved.  The module conversion is useful only to be reused in another live Cryptslax USB distro without having to go through all the above. Or if you want to erase the changes directory because you've messed things up and need to reset them in the original state.

Repeat the same process for any other mining software you wish to install.

If you have questions, dont ask me, I have no idea! I just found this stuff by tinkering around with cryptoslax.. Grin

By the way this small FAQ comes from the author's Gogle + page.

It was hard find this information, therefore I compiled it in one page and re-posted here for easer access:

#FAQ 001

my rig stuck on boot, its says "Looking for SLAX data in /slax"

mostly its caused by
* your usb flash drive are corrupted
* slax can't find your usb flash drive
* your usb controller aren't working or we dont have driver your your usb controller

solution
* clean up and check your flash drive, make sure its FAT32 formatted, delete [FLASHDRIVE:]\slax\changes content to make it back to factory settings
* put your flash disk to USB 2.0 port, if SLAX can't use your USB 3.0 controller
* most AMD based motherboard need IOMMU to be enabled in your motherboard BIOS in order your usb controller to be recognize by SLAX
* you can try put iommu=soft at boot option list

Quote
Frankly, none of the above worked for me [lapja] when I tried to mix 270x with 265 or 285 but yes... you might want to try these first, just before you start screeming nasty words...

#FAQ  002

what is root password ? how do i change it?
its "toor" by default, you can change it by issuing command "passwd root"

#FAQ  003

how do i activate module (.sb file)

* you can activate modules on www.slax.org by issuing "slax active [module name]" while it running
* you can activate custom cryptoslax module (on official website) by downloading it first (you can use "wget [url to module]") then issuing "slax activate /path/to/downloaded/module"
* or you can simply put that .sb file into your flash drive at [FLASHDRIVE :]\slax\modules then boot it

#FAQ 004

how do i access and edit my files on CryptoSLAX system?

* you can use SMB service, on windows using your windows explorer type \\[YOUR RIG IP] , on OSX using your Finder, go to Connect menu and put "smb://[Your RIG IP]
* you can use SSH service, for example you can use WinSCP and connect with your Rig IP, on OSX you can use CyberDuck software

#FAQ  005

how do i auto-start miner on boot?

* SLAX will execute all executable files on /etc/rc.d/rc.xxxx on boot (runlevel 3) which is before X started, so any program that need to access GPU wont detect gpu at this time, therefore u need to autostart after X started (see below)
* CryptoSLAX also will execute all executable files on /root/.kde/Autostart/start.h and run it in background (no visible terminal)
* CryptoSLAX will execute all executable files on /root/.kde/Autostart/start.d and run it on KDE terminal inside screen session
* for miner program, i create it more easy by creating symbolic link to miner autostart-session.sh script inside /root/.kde/Autostart/start.d , so if you want to autostart miner, simply make autostart-session.sh executable by issuing "chmod +x /path/to/autostart-session.sh" and to disable it to being autostarted simply make it non-executable by issuing "chmod -x /path/to/autostart-session.sh"
