Should I make an easy install/instructional program/aide that allows user to have a walkthrough/semi-auto install process to guide them through the installation ? Maybe make it easier for some users until we get a lightweight GUI or web wallet ?
Anything helps, especially if the autoinstall is simple and futureproof. Right now even understanding the protocol is a challenge to most, so if you are not inclined to make an autoinstall, anything in that area that would also be helpful. I needs to be easy for people to part with their money, and that will be the best thing to happen to xcp.

btw guys check out huntercoin (note i have not actually played the game myself) but this is the kind of cool innovation that can happen using stuff like msc, xcp, cc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ot-sRUjmkckthe UI and trying to figure out how to play this game is absolutely horrendous, but you get the idea...

I think XBTC has security-wised benefit over existing centralized exchanges,
in that - converting XBTC <-> BTC on the gateway is way harder to screw up than making fullstack exchange where there are too many moving parts,
the only way this works is if the coins are in cold storage vaults and insured, otherwise maxmint gets hit by a bus or someone finds him in RL, and you are all screwed. you all just don't learn your lessons, do ya? cough cough gox

it's going to be based on an open plug in architecture, and it's open source we have some folks working on adding peercoin and litecoin at the moment.

If not then I agree big time.

IMHO, but I don't perceive an "anti-marketing sentiment". More like being conservative right now to stay behind the noise of Mtgox and Auroracoin and whatever new IPO coin of the week. Once the new website design goes up, a broader community is formed, the web wallet goes up, we get the security review done, and the GUI is improved, then absolutely go all out.
+1, valid point, good to match the PR with progress. website should be at the least collecting emails into a mailchimp account, i made the mistake of not doing this early on with the mastercoin.org website and probably lost out on a couple 1000s of emails when msc hit coinmartketcap.

I found it humorous, on the GITHUB docs, that as an example, the value of 1 XCP = 2 BTC Order
An ‘order’ is an offer to give a particular quantity of a particular asset and get some quantity of some other asset in return. No distinction is drawn between a ‘buy order’ and a ‘sell order’. The assets being given are escrowed away immediately upon the order being parsed. That is, if someone wants to give 1 XCP for 2 BTC, then as soon as he publishes that order, his balance of XCP is reduced by one.Someday we will look back and laugh even more when 1 XCP really equals 10 BTC. And all the CAKE will be gone. 10 BTC!??Effectively putting the market cap around $17B at today's prices. Hey Facebook paid as much for WhatsApp! sorry, I got too excited by the example and forgot to convert my values from base 2 I don't like to start wild speculations, but this could be much, much bigger than Facebook AND Whatsapp! And of course, there will be CAKE. Hurry up and get some here: https://forums.counterparty.co/index.php/topic,118.0.html

Hey guys, is there currently a more updated version of The Counterparty Protocol on GitHub available or is it all in the code, so to speak? Quite impressive to see what's going on here. Dexx7 is in the house. Welcome.

I have my XCP wallet on Poloniex. Can I transfer my XCP's to my bitcoin wallet on blockchain.info or on my Mac multibit BTC wallet?
Yes, you can. Make sure to remember the address, so you can export the private key at a later date to the Bitcoin-QT client or webwallet.

Will my XCP's be visible on my wallet as XCP's? With Mastercoins they are hidden (Until March 15) except of a 0.00006BTC notice.
You can check an XCP balance here http://blockscan.com/

I was searching for mentions of digital currency (or digital cash) before 2009. I found a paper by Tetsuo Tanaka: https://www.isoc.org/inet96/proceedings/b1/b1_1.htm. It's from 1995 and this graph seemed quite interesting: I think we are in the confusion stage. Look at the Satoshi story, or CNN talking to the "CEO of Bitcoin".... Haha at this part: "Its transnationality has the potential to cause conflict between cyberspace and nation-states. If digital cash spreads successfully in the 21st century, its history may be written as a record of its battle with nation-states. "
