Dad tought me one thing: Buy when everyone sells, and sell when everyone buys. Of course, after a while.
Guaranteed profit. Not as high, as expected, but always profit.
Sorry for my english, I'm thinking in my language so commas may be in weird places.
Tell this to coins like this for an example: The current network speed of this example coin is about 1/10 of my personal rig's speed (5x290). Would you still buy? Is it still profitable to mine it? If so then no. Mine it and keep dumping, then buy the coins back lower. If it's not profitable to mine it, then I would buy a bit on the way down, not a whole lot, but if it ever does shoot up, a little can become a lot. I treat my crypto trading more like legalized gambling anyway. Every crypto can potentially be used as a vehicle for future pumping. Look at what happened to junkcoin. I bought a tiny bit when market cap was 50k, then somebody pumped it to 1 million overnight so I sold my junk coins and the millionare has been dumping on unsuspecting noobs ever since.

It's just like blackjack with friends. I started from nothing. I never spent any real money for cryptocoins, I'm mining since about a month, electricity for free, shitty GPU and CPU (9600GT, Athlon x2 3.14 GHz) and I'm owner of 0.07 BTC (at this moment, when 42 was at 1500 BTC, I had 0.16). And I'm doing it for lulz mostly. But honestly - I'm never going to be pro miner. It's for me too risky.

be sure 42 rise up, this crash its done by multipools that disturb serius miners and sell all coins same second they catch dont mind for they if is low price. So btc price is going down people sure will buy and have power up on 42 inversions, with 6 btc you pull price until 1k easy

I think all of us smart enough to be here at the beginning of the crypto coin revolution will become filthy rich in a few years time. Each year more and more of us will turn millionaire and more and more will try to emulate and it will just keep growing. Short term though, not too promising for cryptos. I think we'll go lower before we go higher. My plans for 2014: Mine and dump and build fiat and BTC/LTC/42 reserves, then buy back into the shitcoins lower, hopefully at the bottom. Then just hold until the next bitcoin bubble and cashout everything on the greed spike; wait for the panic crash and buy the coins back for half price.

Plain and simple formula to compute how a coin is really worth is:
BTC max number of coins divided by target coin's max number of coins. Then divide by 1000.
Ex: - BTC max number of coins = 21,000,000 - VEL max number of coins = 42
21,000,000 / 42 = 500,000 500,000 / 1000 = 500
So, VEL is worth 500BTC.
Try it with other coins... Sure, some are hyped-up. Some are undervalued. Can depend on a lot of factors, like under-marketing of a coin, over-hype, ... And the 'divide by 1000' factor at the end also can fluctuate. But it's a good start.
Ex: TRC - BTC max number of coins = 21,000,000 - TRC max number of coins = 42,000,000
21,000,000 / 42,000,000 = 0.5 0.5 / 1000 = 0.0005
which is about the current price point, 0.0005 BTC.
Seriously flawed, you need to consider average volume to know fair price... and volume per day, not total cap. volume per day / supply per day = floating demand price, if its over 1 buy if its under 1 sell.

Bitcoin is at 778, not going to be good day for cryptos.
I hope Bitcoin takes a nose dive to 430 per coin. I'll be waiting with fiat.

Is there a problem with the pools? It is taken forever to confirm blocks, I mean, there are unconfirmed blocks with 8 or more hours (at least in the dedicated pool).

You and me both! I MUST BE MAD!!!! Yes, it's kind of a definition for madness: repeating the exact same thing over and over again while expecting a different outcome.

I have a feeling this one is going to be a fun ride, at least for the first year. Don't panic sell at the bottom now. All other alt coins are getting raped by Chinese scrypt asics right now.
