This coin definitely has potential. Seeing the Dev post actively in this thread would do a lot to boost confidence though.

I think this dev team is doing a great job, but sometimes have a lack of communication. A few more news about whats going on would be pretty nice, and prevent rumors. i think a social markting manager for the dev team would be pretty nice

This is the Director of Marketing and PR for SmartCoin. If there is some communication you feel you need, please let us know. We regularly update the Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, and are almost always on the IRC Channels, as well as continually updating our transparency document. Our philosophy is simple: we address rumors when they occur, and announce important news when it's ready. That makes things more cut-and-dry for the community, as we'd rather only announce things when they are certain so community members don't feel strung along.

Now, I have spoken with Cryptsy twice this week, and I am actively working with the developer on the website redesign. It is certainly easy to say "you need to do this more" or "you need to do that more", but the fact of the matter is that if we are ever quiet for a bit, it's because we're working hard on SmartCoin, not avoiding the community, being secretive, or giving up like many people believe. What you can do to help the community is understand that we are devoted and working hard, and continue to support the team and SmartCoin, as opposed to rapidly sinking into paranoia and despair if we don't post for a few hours. We aren't going anywhere, but the constant nitpicking and criticism doesn't really help SmartCoin, the community, or us at all.

Trust me, we are well aware of how much of a challenge it is to build trust for an anonymous digital currency. However, I assure you that we have taken many steps to be as transparent as possible and are feverishly working to develop more and more features for SmartCoin.

Additionally, I'd like to reiterate that SmartCoin is literally 24 days old. We have done more than Bitcoin did at this age. Building a great digital currency takes time, and this is not a get-rich-quick scheme, but a long-term investment. So please remember, there is no need for hand-wringing and relentless anxiety about the future of SmartCoin. We've got a devoted team and we're working hard. Be patient. This isn't an overnight thing; we want to be more than a pump-and-dump, rise-and-fall coin. Obsessively monitoring charts and graphs is ultimately unhelpful and a waste of time in the short term, as our development and marketing is not dictated by short term market fluctuations. We have a big vision, so let's all remember to take a breath, relax, and support the team, community, and coin.

All coins seem to be down of course, hopefully March/April we'll see their return along with Bitcoin.

Smartcoin is really dropping in value and cap.  I hold it and USDe and this is the first time I've seen Smartcoin drop below USDe often.  Which exchanges are dooming SMC lately with the selling?  Don't have a lot but still holding, but sure am tempted to get out of SMC soon.

Hahaha!  Thanks for the vote of confidence but I'd never be able to dedicate the amount of time required and still keep my job, hahahahah.  Besides, I'm no guru of social media.  Hell, I still think Twitter is about the dumbest thing to happen to tech in 10 years

Scroll down a bit and look at the hashrates for the scrypt alt coins.  We're in the upper third of all of them, which is great.  If we doubled our mining, we'd bash our way comfortably inside the top 10.  That would go a long way towards increasing our exposure as well as hopefully stabilizing the markets a bit.  Plus, the rising hashrate would attract more miners which would add to our ranks.  That should be one of our goals - double our hashrate.

If everyone who is already mining SMC could dedicate some more khs or mhs that would be great.  And if everybody who isn't mining could start or at least throw a worker or 2 into one of the pools that would be even better.

It´s not us! its a single person doing it, even thou i think its wrong, it´s kinda impossibly to "control" all and everyone. So a piece of advice to "you guys" tell him upfront instead and if that dont help go to thread starter here to tell him to do something about it,dont continue to post trash in other threads. . .  it will all go viral.
