Little question concerning p2p mining
I've been mining vertcoin now for 1.5 days p2p and I'm quite happy with the results, i seem to get about similar amount as what the profit calculators predict for my hashrate.
However, there is a strange anomaly i can't get a grip on. At the p2p pool I'm mining i have the fastest hashrate but there is this other address of somebody with smaller hashrate who constantly gets bigger payout then me, how is this possible? I did notice my diff is higher then for the other people there, could that be the reason?
if a person finds a block they get a better portion of the reward for that block. also the reward is based on how many shares you submit and are accepted not your hash rate. the prediction is just that.. a prediction based on how quickly shares are being submitted by your miner. the time it takes so calculate a share and submit it to the pool is variable... so if you are lucky and submit 3 in a row quickly then the predicted payout will go up.. if you are unlucky and submit several shares slowly the rate will go down. Thanks for this clear explaniation Alphi and all other people who took the time to explain this! I was not aware of the fact block finders get something extra, great to hear, I'm starting to love this vertcoin more and more

First you get lower until a top is reached and after you stop mining you get also paid until your last hare you submitted it payed. On other coins i got payouts after stop mining was 20 hours ago. Don´t know if it´s with VTC the same but i think so. I always get better results with p2p pools than with "regular pools"

PANDA is quickly becoming MAX 2.0; such a shitshow of a launch.
Back to VTC now that the main pump is gone on PANDA.
Noticed another thing, all the forum chatter is all about how much money people are going to make; but there is essentially ZERO discussion by the community on things like Fiat-2-Crypto exchanges, charity works, etc. The community is all money money money. It's like trying to have a discussion on NASA at a frat party; anyone who does try to talk about something interesting gets drowned out by the crowd of belching asshats.

Well, it is a coin backed by hype and greed after all. yep, 100% narcissist wolf leading the group of retarded sheep of wallstreet mined some of that at low diff, and dumpd at good prize. now im back mining vert, now very low diff there, getting about 5vert/r9 290/day. im putting real money into vert as soon as they got the ATMs, digipay and fiat->vtc->fiat exchange systems working. ps. no need to discuss in this thread what is a good prize for panda(2). for me its about anything, no hate, no pain, i just dont care. sorry for the offtopic

Azure Vertcoin Pool - DDOS reisistant P2Pool Node
http://cryptopool.cloudapp.net:9171/
No registration - No minimal payout!
| | To connect to this P2Pool node simply point your miner at:
URL: stratum+tcp://cryptopool.cloudapp.net:9171 Username: Your vertcoin address Password: Anything | | Fast facts about P2Pool
1. P2Pool nodes are all part of one single, big, distributed pool 2. When any p2pool worker on any node finds a block, everyone on all the nodes gets paid their share 3. There is no pool wallet, and hence no payout threshold. Payments go directly to your wallet 4. The distributed nature of p2pool resists DDoS attacks

cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://cryptopool.cloudapp.net:9171 -u VbNPoxNeiNg6Bj9RwjjS4GazDbKLgUqNDP -p X

The fact that Vertcoin isn't easy to integrate into existing multipools also makes it another rarity.
it will soon be.

I'm planning to sell some USB powered risers 50" in my country as soon as my supplies comes in and i will be accepting BTC and VTC payments only. However i won't be doing international shipping yet. I'm just testing the waters, so i will start with 100pcs to 200pcs. If business is good, then i might start selling to other countries.

Come join us on P2Pool! There has been some massive improvements made to payouts compared to our earlier version. P2Pool is a distributed peer-to-peer pool, and as such by nature with its many points of failure (>300 at the time of writing) it is generally DDoS resistant. Right now P2Pool is accounting for around 10% of the total network hashrate, in a perfect world P2Pool (split into smaller networks) would account for >51% of the network hashrate, that way the Vertcoin network would be a lot less susceptible to sudden drops in hashrate (vulnerability to attacks!). You use a wallet address as your login name and anything as your password (it doesn't check it), that way you don't have to worry about losing your coins because you forgot your account details, or someone guessed your password. Furthermore, as no coins are stored on the nodes (all payments are made directly to your wallet address when a block is found) there are no coins to steal through hacking of the node. It it also the bane of centralization! Interested? The options you have now are either to run your own local node that you connect to (this is the recommended option as it helps the network and you get the lowest possible latency) setup instructions and source code can be found here. I realize that this is not for everyone though, as it can be a little problematic to setup. For those of you that don't want to run your own node, we (the people on p2pool) run a set of public nodes that you can connect to, there is an automatically updated list of these nodes at http://scanner.etyd.org just pick the one with the lowest latency (you can sort the latency column by clicking on its title, in the future this should be automatic.. but time...). If you mine on a public node the setup is incredibly simple, as there is no registration or email confirmation etc, all you need is a wallet address. Please don't use an exchange address as the P2Pool payouts work differently from a normal transaction and exchanges can't attribute these transactions to your address (unless they do it manually...)A slight warning, if you have less than 100khash you might be better off on a normal pool as you might find that you have trouble finding a share in time on p2pool. Edit: let me back that up with some data: (top one is hashrate, lower one is payouts). Sorry about the image spam. And now this is what payouts sometimes looked like BEFORE our recent update:Variance was pretty high and payouts were quite infrequent (you got the right amount in end though..)
