Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

I have sent some vtc a couple of days ago on Cryptsy. The deposit has occurred successfully but my balance shows "0". On the Vertcoin blockchain, I can see that my coins has been moved to another wallet without showing any withdrawal, trade or sell. Should I be alarmed ? I have sent a support ticket to Cryptsy, but I was wondering if it has happened to some of you too ?

Yeah, a couple of weeks back I sent 25 VTC to Cryptsy. My VTC balance only increased about 9.1 VTC with absolutely no other activity on the account (trades, withdrawls, etc, etc, etc).  My message to Cryptsy "Support" only resulted in a very lame response that completely disregarded the given details and the account activity plainly showing in my account area.

I moved EVERYTHING to BTER after that and have been very happy there since.

I have just received an answer from them and everything has returned to normal. My balance shows my number of VTC correctly. The answer was really fast ! Good experience so far I would say.
Thank you for your answer and sorry for your lost...
On my side, I am spreading my VTC in Coinedup, Bter, Cryptsy and my wallet but I am considering using the Vertcoin's online wallet too. Just to secure them a little bit more. Smiley

Ah fucked again by another bullshit coin

NOT RESISTANT to greedy fuckbag mining farms and speculators pump and dumpers.
Only select few elite get to profit.......coin already lost to monopoly...

So then if this coin is so shit hot and the future then
WHO WANTS WANTS TO PAY A FAIR PRICE FOR MY 4 comps with 11 cards @ 9M

No one! I can't find a buyer even at 50% of original they are all 2 months old

What a MAJOR scam and mistake it was getting sucked into ALT's

I got in to kill the banks but now realize we are just helping them.

Alt community are TAKERS worse than bankers

Thanks fuckers for tricking me into loosing 5 years worth of savings with no hope of recovery or profit.
I farm and when your economy crashes and the trucks stop rolling  don't ask me for food.....your coins are as worthless as you are to humanity

I've got 5 comps running 5 cards each.  No one cares about your "investment".

If you were smart, you'd spend the time you've spent crying doing research and looking for your next in market.  If you had done Auroracoin from it's launch, you'd be crying for another reason right now.

Stop being a little bitch and abusing other community members.

No one with BTC is putting money into alt coins right now because every is taking hits from MtGox's bullshit, and all the fucking hackers hitting the various exchanges.

It would take something like 10 BTC to by up all the sell orders on Polo and get VTC into the 7's or higher, but people are hording their BTC in private wallets until things get sorted out.

The fact the difficulty has been steadily, be it slowly, climbing is a sign of the faith people have in this coin.  It is the first of its kind, and it will be a prime crypto; we just need to make it through all of the crap going on right now.  http://coinz.co.vu/diff/?vtc

Hell, BTC is back up to 665 already and also on a slow climb.
