Very well! At the current difficulty we all can quickly push those projects just by donating our mining profits. Btw, is it ok to mine directly to a donation address or isn't that a good idea? I always see those warnings on trading platforms that you should not mine to their deposit address. Is this also true here? Yes, I am at 150VTC daily so I will definitely donate again. The problem is, as other users noted, these project vanish and never get publicity I applied for my marketing report project but that hasn't even made it to the website Seems there is generally not enough interest, so I'll probably stop investing my time. Takes like 2 hours every day...

If an ASIC was created for the current N factor of 11, then it would be obsolete when the N factor raises to 12. Creating and fabing a custom ASIC chip has a startup cost of at least $500,000 and maybe closer to $1 million. Companies would have to repeat this process every 1.5 years when the N factor increases.
It is not a problem for ASIC manufacturers to repeat this process as the useful life time of a miner is just several months because of the difficulty increase. In bitcoin mining, if you cannot make ROI (return of investment) in two months, you will not get your investment back, as after two months, the electricity cost will be more than the bitcoin mined. The bitcoin ASIC are updated every few months. So 1.5 years is more than enough for N factor ASIC update. In order to make Vertcoin more ASIC resistant, I would suggest: 1. Use fractional N factor, such as 11, 11.2, 11.5 etc to reduce the time to change N factor from 1.5 year to several months. I do not know if it is possible. 2. Use random N factor, such as 11, 12, 10, 9, 13 etc. That is, in one block, use 11, next block use 12, next 10. It might be difficult for ASIC to adapt to this. It is easy for GPU based system.

In short, no, I don't believe that's possible. At least, not using the functions described in the scrypt draft RFC because it specifies power of 2 for the vector length. 2. Use random N factor, such as 11, 12, 10, 9, 13 etc. That is, in one block, use 11, next block use 12, next 10. It might be difficult for ASIC to adapt to this. It is easy for GPU based system.
I have to admit, a myriadcoin focused on ASIC resistance by covering several n-factors >10 would offer some very interesting possibilities. I've had that idea myself. Just an idea though. VTC is real and has the best ASIC resistance available.

Just wanted to share with you guys my Vertcoin paper wallet design that you can find here: http://www.printpaperwallet.com/?design=alt-vertcoinThe GitHub source if you wanted to download it and run it locally can be found here: https://github.com/transcoder/printpaperwalletIn addition to the Vertcoin paper wallet design, I have created ones for other coins that I hold such as CasinoCoin and Digitalcoin. Credit goes to Canton Becker for the original tri-fold template as well as the Bitcoin, Litecoin and Dogecoin designs. I'd appreciate any donations! VjQ7dkfh72ss9qX3F1FcDNww2pVbiWqKx1

It's been almost a month now since VTC's value dropped. I'm very close in dumping my coins at -50% expected value Like I said before, people are too inpatient and are looking very short term. Let us know when you decide to sell a bunch of coins, I'll be among first ones to buy Sure I'll let you know. I need to pay electric bills before end of the month and will hold a few. I'm also buying at these prices, and have tripled my (small) stake in the last few days. If you can hold on to a few, I think you should,,, I quit mining LTC last April and blew my 400+ LTC on gambling sites, as the 10 coins I was getting each day, valued at $0.20 each, weren't worth it. Now who's feeling stupid? Vertcoin has alot going for it, and i'm pretty confident that it is one of the coins that will survive this mad 'new clone coin every day' stage we are in at the moment. I am working on a project that will incorporate VTC, as I'm sure alot of other developers are too. But these things take time... Until the price rises, keep in mind the advice from this bloke..... http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424052748704089904575093603081648166- stay liquid - buy when everyone else is selling - don't buy when everyone else is buying ...

Anybody know what exchange we can do VTC-LTC?
Coinex (going through troubles at the moment), Bittrex (needs market makers). I think will have to go through BTC if it needs done.
