Hi Folks, I've just discovered the iCoin community, and have to say that I'm very impressed both with the coin, dev involvement and the great friendly conversations being had. Definitely very refreshing after the too many sub-standard "quick-buck" crap-coins being released and in circulation at the moment, along with the flimsy community backing/support. Can anyone recommend a decent mining pool, I've had a look through the official list on this thread, though most of these either don't have any (or very few) miners or are no longer online? With the current diff. level are many of you taking a punt by solo mining? ** Update: I signed up at SpeedMiner *** Thanks Welcome KiwiSi

I hope none of you folks had many coins on coinmarket.io , it isn't looking too good from reading everything today. Perhaps its just poor communication, lets hope so.
I think Coinmarket will be back up at some stage but they have a lot to learn about ETAs and customer support. ATM it's the exchanges that are causing a bad name for Cryptos in general and not the actual virtual currencies themselves. I feel that regulation will be needed on exchanges in the future to protect the consumers/traders/investors. Agreed, i can tolerate downtime but i cannot tolerate loosing peoples coins etc. i had none on coinmarket.io personally though. I am keeping mine in wallet.

It appears that https://www.mininpool.co has been on the wrong block chain since the 27/2. We are now having troubles synching back onto the correct chain so the pool is down until further notice. yup now they got me all fucked up.... my wallet just says syncing with network for 24 hours yet I have 14 connections!

Dev Update:
The Android Wallet will be made available by tomorrow for the iCoin Community to test and give feedback. Not to state the obvious but please use small amounts of coins to test with.
Will post the link as soon as it's ready.

After the 9th April the world will know about iCoin. What will happen on 9th April? iCoin is being represented in a big way in New York City at the crypto currency convention. This is when we will be hitting the real media for the 1st time.

I may not understand the way apps work, so if you can clarify why these are needed? Privacy, take pictures or videos, modify or delet the contents of the SD card? Device access, control near field comms, pair with bluetooth devices, send broadcast Thanks

Device access, control near field comms, pair with bluetooth devices, send broadcast Thanks Hi Lord, Sure, the app needs all those permissions due to the following functionalities: -needs to store private data (wallet and blockchain) - it is using the camera to allow usage of QR codes - it is requiring bluetooth pairing because it is also possible to exchange coins offline. Although this is currently not working as it should. So, this will probably get disabled. - NFC because you can send/receive coins using it (I have tested with 2 Galaxy S3 and it works fine) - and finally the SD card to allow backup and restore of wallet This project is based on Bitcoin Android Wallet and has been modified accordingly to work with iCoin.

Thanks
Also if really don't trust it and you rooted your device, you can disable specific permission without breaking the app itself. PM me if you want more information about disabling permissions.
