Metstijl, we appreciate and welcome all constructive criticism! I believe you're with SmartCoin if I'm not mistaken and a member of your team reached out to us on twitter. Good to hear from you guys, and excited to see the outcome and long-term gameplan among us as well as other currencies built for stability and longevity.
Will you guys be speaking at the Crypto Currency Convention at all? If so, let's meet and grab a drink. Cheers - team iCoin

I just got some bad news in my email from coin-payments. Apparently they are shutting down due to financial regulations!
Any word on this, it looks like a valid email.

Well that's annoying We will still have 2 Merchants that accept iCoin without coinpayments but yes this is a bit disappointing for everyone involved, but this won't get us down... we are already working on something else.

Hey everybody, here is the full update from coinpayments, referred to us by one of our merchants...
Hello username,
It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce the closure of CoinPayments.net. FinCEN has ruled that Bitcoin is in their purview which would make us a money transmitter. We simply do not have the resources to register with FinCEN and most of the 50 states as a MSB and comply with all of the AML/KYC laws (and no realistic way to raise the funds to do so.)
The shutdown will happen in 3 stages: 1. We will stop accepting new user registrations effective immediately. 2. We will stop processing new transactions at 11:59:59 PM EST on March 24, 2014 (transactions already in progress at that time will be completed). 3. The website will otherwise remain operational until 11:59:59 PM EST on March 31st, 2014 when it will be shut down.
Any refunds due must be requested by the end of March 31st, 2014 and any funds held in your account withdrawn. Keeping the website open for a week from the last new transaction should give everyone ample time to wrap up their affairs in the site.
We extend our sincerest apologies to you and everyone else who has relied on CoinPayments for over 7 months, MrData & pr0d1gy CoinPayments.net

Not good. Leave it to the gov to ruin a good thing Cryptoalley will be shutting down till we can find another payment processor. All user info will be kept so you can pickup where you left off once a processor is found.

CryptoAlley has decided to remain open while searching for another payment processor solution. For BTC, LTC, DOGE, and VERT, mitm.io will be the required payment form since it is escrow service, free to both buyer and seller. All other coins will be an offline option which means that buyer and seller exchange info through CryptoAlley messaging system so there is a record of the transaction.
Everything will remain as is at CryptoAlley except that during the transition period listings will need approval to be sure payment options are correct. It will take a couple days to get this done so please bear with us.

I heard elsewhere that a trusted member of the bitcoin community bought coinpayments. He'll take over at a time TBD and intends to keep it running.

That would be interesting, what would most likely happen is that coinpayments will be hosted outside of the US so it doesn't have to abide to FinCENs rules. It's a real pity as the current owners of coinpayments ran a clean and honest operation. From our side I have already made contact with another payment system for iCoin and we should hear back from them by Wednesday.

I just had the opportunity to speak on WGDR Community Radio in Vermont for an uninterrupted 1-hour time slot about Bitcoin, iCoin, cryptocurrencies, and manipulation of monetary systems and precious metals. There were a few hundred listeners tuning in this morning (many of which were not even familiar with Bitcoin) and part of the community tuning in was through a VP chairman of a widely recognized credit union.
The commentary and discussion was fantastic, we will post an archived link as soon as it becomes available!
