Would Digibyte like to merge mine with Litecoin and be secured forever from 51% attacks?http://www.reddit.com/r/Digibyte/comments/22htjc/would_digibyte_like_to_merge_mine_with_litecoin/
Share your opinion.

That's kind of an interesting idea. As long as it wouldn't screw up digibyte's image, it could greatly increase the community

Edit: I saw somebody mention on reddit that this would make us the alt of an alt, and we would be tied to LTC's success. I think there are better ways to get dgb to go mainstream.
This is a very interesting proposal. What is everyone's thought on this?

What would that mean? Are miners then mining LTC and DGB simultaneously?

When you mine you would be mining Dogecoins & DigiBytes at the same time.

This sounds quite interesting from a miners perspective. However, what are the experiences at Namecoin?
I fear this would push DGB in Litecoins shadow for all time.

If this is just to prevent forks, you should take a look at the CGA thread. There is someone working on a anti-forking feature which pushes mislead clients back to the right chain. I don't know any details though.

Thank you for pointing us in that direction!

So if I understand well... You create inflation by doing this, right?
Then one miner would mine both coins at the same time instead of the 2 you would need now. Or is the hashrate split over the 2 coins?

We are looking into the issue. Luckily we had not released 2.9 (which implements .9 protocol) to our main downloads. Most people are still running 2.0.
