I partly agree with this. USD is the name of American dollar, so it is better to link it with U.S. However, don't forget that the currency cannot be limited to anything, especially if it is electronic USD (USDe). It should be an international currency everybody can use, it is the electronic dollar that everybody can purchase anything over the internet. So it can be centred in US, but can be used by anybody with no conversion needed if the payment method accepted by the merchants over the internet.

I understand what you're saying but we're talking about a crypto coin here.. In the Crypto World we Americans can't just put ourselves first and then rest of the world comes later. that shouldn't be the vision of USDe. Yes, USDe maybe the patriotic image of the U.S. but lets not kid ourselves.

Dr Mad, The devs did not intend for USDe to be strictly U.S. use only. you're already getting the wrong idea on what USDe is all about. This is a prime example of what people think when they lay there eyes on USDe for the first time and we have to find a way to convince newcomers that USDe is still world wide use.

again, USD is a US currency, but it is used all around the world in almost any country. At the same time it's US and global currency. Thus there's no reason we should choose somehow (US or glob), as we easily cover both. If it was JPYe or UAHe I would probably agree that it's limited to a country. there is already american coin if this is the only purpose, USDe i think can be much more than this.

However the coin is in a lull right now, the devs need to come up with some reason for usde to exist.
