Taken in a vacuum you would almost tend to sympathize with the crocodile tears being shed by the dev for his moderation efforts.
You have to realize however, for the ones complaining about the deleted posts, this is a mode of operation that they have become used to through the running of their own site. At Btc-e they host a chat that is strictly monitored. Any mention of specific coins that they dislike, like Doge, or sites they dislike like Cryptsy most often leads to a ban of a week or more. They shroud this in not wanting talk of competing coins, but the moderation really only applies to the few pet peaves that they have, and an occasional 1 hour ban for others to add believability. Their default behavior is to censor so that their own propaganda can be heard above all else. It seems that the real solution would be to start other threads that they can't delete the posts on. Negative press is negative press, and if you have 100 threads screaming about the failure of the coin, its much more effective then posts 100 pages into the announcement.
The real irony is that they rail against Doge in particular for being premined, and a joke. Then at the same time they release a premined coin. Whatever the basis of that premine is. I don't really feel that a pre-mine is a horrible thing. All currency is pre-mined, I can't be mad that Joe Bob got ahead i the game, when he got there first. As long as there is 'enough' fairness, thats all there really needs to be. Still, there is some real hypocrisy involved here when they consistently deride other coins premine, and then one of their own releases a coin that so loudly touts its use of that tool.

It STILL is profitable, but I don't know for how long still, price is dropping pretty fast. How much was the premine btw?

Rich rich rich, we be will rich on Feb 7 onward. Don't stop Mining Ok i'll play along. Let's say UTC shoots to 1$ feb 7th. How many will you have mined by then? A few thousands at most? Assuming you got 50 MH/s... So you're not gonna be rich anyway.

We will get rich this Feb 7 onward and at least few hundred thousand USD dollar $$$ to our bank account. What are your plan to spend this money ? I'm buying a 100MH/s rig What are you talking about? Nothing wrong with dreaming big Go to 100 other alt coin threads and you'll see exactly the same post. I've yet to see one of them be right yet. What precisely is your point? Does this even have any indication to how the future plays out? Let's just have some fun and see where it takes us. where can we buy/sell UTC?
There is an exchanges section on the first post. At this early stage, Ultracoin can only be traded on https://freshmarket.co.in/index.php?page=trade&market=135They only have a UTC/LTC pair and volume is really low. Current Buy/Sell is 0.0085/0.0092 LTC. Bumface, can you put an exchanges section on the 1st post?

Well stated! Pretty typical of Koolio, not expected from Bumface though.

A good way to compare the price of UTC is to look at CASH which was released a week or so ago. It's got the same specs as UTC (mainly) by being pow/pos and having a very low mintage. CASH is trading at half of UTC currently and I'd expect the variance to tighten. I love both coins though, it's a long term hold for me! ridiculously accurate forecast batman!! CASH is now trading above UTC. They will be rivals it seems.

For all you Nvidia guys:
I have an 'old' GTX 465 on my daughters PC (XP) and got it to work (110kh) with the following:
Latest cudaminer with Scrypt-Jane support (2014-02-02)
and the following config / .bat
//================================================================ setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
cudaminer.exe -C 1 -i 1 -H 2 -l auto -o stratum+tcp://xxxxxx3 -u xxxxxx -p xxxx -a scrypt-jane:UltraCoin //================================================================
can also be done by specifying starttime,min,max instead of coin name eg -a=scrypt-jane:1388361600,4,30
working away on leetpool with no problem
Just got home and seen this. You are awesome. I have a GTX 670 and getting 255 kh/s my 7850 are only getting 190 kh/s. I will play around with settings and see if I can push it further.

If you are going to leave your BTC on an exchange please send it to this address instead 1GH3ub3UUHbU5qDJW5u3E9jZ96ZEmzaXtG, I will at least use the money better than someone who steals it from the exchange. Thanks
