Short question because it is not very clear to me :

I am using Bitcoin-QT 0.8.6beta Wallet.

I make backups of my wallet.dat from time to time and encrypt with 7-Zip.

Do i need the private (secret) key also to restore my wallet just in case?

If you have encrypted your wallet then you will need your key whenever you restore it yes

My Wallet is encrypted with a passphrase "blablabla".

public adress + passphrase "blablabla" = privat(secret key) generated?

Let`s say my house burns down and i have my public btc adress and backup of my wallet plus my Passphrase.

So do i need the secret key anyway or is the backup of my wallet and my passphrase enough?

FUKKING HELL YES!! YOU NEED YOUR KEY!!!

You'd better make and test some test backups with another wallet to make sure you understand how the backup and restore process works.

bitcoin qt and bitcoind can be very difficult.
the backup and restore is very straightforwards with mycellium and schildebach wallets for android.
you need to preserve at least your bitcoin addresses and the private keys and the password/phrase for them.
then you can throw your computer in a volcano and come back in ten years to restore your backups to a new wallet.
hopefully bitcoin will be worth 1,000,000,000,000 by then............. Grin

That is indeed little bit tricky, to find out my private (Secret) key i had to go QT Console and:

type: walletpassphrase "your walletpassphrase here" 600
type: dumpprivkey [your public key here]
this will return the private key, you can copy it now; ensure you clear your clipboard/history afterwards
type: walletlock

Thanks for answer, and i "play" around with wallets to learn import public keys, restore backup  and get more comfortable with that console.

I really wonder how many people lost their wallets because they did no proper backup etc.

Sorry for offtopic but maybe that saved me some money Wink

The registration page and order page are being temporarily disabled as we make a few changes tonight.
Thank you for your patience.

Did you know?: Most of our hash power comes from other sources.  We are now specialized in the resale of cloudmining contracts through our associates!

Does that have anything to do with the fact that I ordered and paid for some GH/S and still no word from you?
It was only 2 GH/s , but for me, it was all my btc Sad

It was just 6 hours ago, so I'm waiting on the 12 mark, but does it have to take that long?
How can I check if everything is ok without bugging/create support request?

Thanks

Please PM me a link to the transaction.  I'm going to refund you if you haven't received the hash power yet.  The last orders just got pushed through so if you didn't get yours yet then you probably didn't send the exact amount.  It's too late to credit your account so I would rather refund the Bitcoins back.  This also goes for anyone else who placed faulty orders right before we shut it down.

And yes, it has to take that long.  This is to ensure our staff gets proper rest.   Cheesy  We don't do automated order processing yet because we put security first.  Anything that could be tampered with by an external force has to be done manually so that we have an oversight of every single order that gets placed.

The 12 hour waiting period is shown on the checkout page so that it is not unexpected.
