It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

 Masternode Operators,

Experimental software always have it's hickups unfortunately. This is the biggest of the updates ever, and as we've all witnessed, issues are nothing new or out of the ordinary, but we all know how the devs are quick to resolve issues.

Above all, it would be much more helpful to go directly to where problems are handled. Bitcointalk.org is a place for generic debate, but not the  for getting the best answer to the more difficult questions related to Masternodes. Our devs rarely come here...

Yes, it's confirmed. v.47 does have a memory leak that peaks over 512mb, hence the crashes.

Nothing major, except for auto-scalable VPS services. Watch out for extra charges! But if you have one of these, you probably have loads of RAM anyway and you won't even feel this problem. This should only affect the more adventurous MN OPs that grab great low-end deals.

In any case, again, dashtalk.org is the place to be more up to date and direct dev communication.

Also, a warm welcome back to all the trolls, who for some unfortunate reason, lack a pre-frontal lobe.

EDIT: I'm not following the v.12 thread, but I would suggest the following. Lower maxconnections to 6. No harm done. Also, allocate 1GB of swap of vSwap. IF you have an OpenVZ VPS, forget it, swap is shared by all and you can't physically allocate it for yourself (even though you can configure it in linux, it wont really happen).

Also, cron jobs are you best friend. Set them up to reboot and relaunch, and you wont loose your place in line. You can do anything to a a MN within a 70 minute period (except touch the 1k vin) and it will not drop from the list.

Hope it helps somehow for now. Mind you, I'm no authority on the issue!

Worldwide equity plunge gathering steam. They're now saying the Dow's going to open down 1000 points.

French index now down 7.2% 8.2% and Mediteranean equities over 6% (that's after 6 and 7 percent losses last week).

How is gold and copper doing? Those two are also superb indicators. Especially copper, people don't really use as reserve, but social implications are bombastic
