Tomorrow will be a big day in cryptoworld, Maybe we could set a countdown, a "superblock countdown"  Grin

I wonder how long until they dump them so they can get their cash.

What do you mean?   If conversion is needed for outside services that only take FIAT, then that conversion will be done through OTC trades avoiding exchanges that would sell the coins. Any coin project that wants to act outside of the limits of these forums would need to contract and hire outside service providers that in many cases wont take crypto, even if you gather the coins through donations they still need to be converted and that should be managed with care prioritizing OTC trades above exchanges and services that would ultimately sell the coins. That issue is not unique to Dash and we are prepared to handle it.

 Having a publicly accessible voting system just promotes transparency, discussion and community engagement.

That is the date of the presentation in Amsterdam,  Evan will do a presentation on OCT 7th on Bitcoin Wednesday.  He might give some hints about the future plans but I dont think it will be a full release.

I hope that they sell this dash offmarket, they trust on his project, if they dump... dash will die...

1. Half of the budget (5%) is taken away from miners (who was selling it on exchanges previously anyway).
2. Most of new proposal funding goes to team members - so I don't expect they will "dump" it immediately.
3. Not all 10% will be paid this time.

So we have maximum 2-3 additional % (of monthly emission!) going to exchanges - not sure it can somehow affect the price.

with regards to people concerned these budget pay-outs will cause drastic price changes :

https://dashtalk.org/threads/budget-proposal-promotion-reimbursement-core-team.6006/

Quote
Off Exchange Trading - OTC

 For some budget expenses, it will be required that we exchange Dash for fiat, because of pre-existing requirements for how we pay certain expenses. To protect the markets from excessive volatility we would like to create an OTC market for Dash. If we were to use an exchange like cryptsy to sell the Dash, we would create excessive volatility, from both of the buyers and sellers. To avoid this, we would like to start managing a list of buyers then arrange direct trades. This helps us by lowering the downward pressure on the coin and it will help buyers that would like large amounts of Dash without having to buy it from the ask side of the order book where there is often little available to purchase.

 In many cases, core team members will front the USD to pay for specific services that Dash requires. We will refer to these transactions as “trusted buyers”, in this case no escrow is needed and they can pay for whatever is needed up front, then be paid back from the next budget.

 In other cases we will be dealing with untrusted buyers. To be completely transparent and fair, we will publish the date and time of when we do trades and the price at which they were done. All trades will be done within 2% of the current market price (averaged between all exchanges) utilizing a fiat to crypto service called CryptoCapital that we have partnered with.

Masternode “Start” Announcement/Reminder v12 !

Please do NOT use  "masternode start" or "masternode start-many/alias" commands anymore to bump your node !!
This worked before, but now since v12 this will affect your node position quite the opposite way now. Use them only when you actually start new MN or MN that dropped out of list. You should not use this command if there is no additional announcement and/or no protocol bump mentioned because in usual cases MN will start automatically on daemon restart.

Some simple notes on what to do in case of some issues:
- If your daemon died but MN still in the list - just restart the daemon and check in next 5-10 minutes if it's still in the list.
- If your daemon died and MN dropped from the list on some site - that doesn't really mean 100% that it dropped on the whole network, could still be visible in some parts of network for another few minutes so just restart demon again and see if it reappear in next 5-10 minutes there. If not - no luck then, everyone kicked you out of list and you have to use "masternode start" or "masternode start-many/alias" and start from the end of payment queue again.

we have many many people asking the same question:
why are my MN's not getting paid since 7-10 days ?
Well, everybody made the same mistake as described above.
only use "start' when actually needed

Added a website post for you guys. The superblocks are big news
and should be attracting a lot of attention to Dash.

My thoughts on the compensate-testers proposal: https://dashtalk.org/threads/proposal-for-testnet-contributors-fund.6073/page-6#post-66463

Note that there are fewer blocks left before the superblock now.

After doing extensive researched on DASH, and the developers behind the coin, I have decided to invest. I really think DASH has a bright future ahead of it. The developers behind DASH really are passionate about their work and all they want is to see their baby succeed.

While I'm promoting code...

If you're interested in never losing your keys (by generating them yourself), and are willing to learn some slightly complicated cryptocurrency (and bip32 specific) underpinnings, check out my do-it-yourself BIP32 tutorial here:

http://en.wiki.dashninja.pl/wiki/DIY_Deterministic_Addresses

Here's the cliff notes version:

Code:
$ # from a live-cd environent (best), do:
$ apt-get install git python-setuptools
$ git clone https://github.com/moocowmoo/pycoin.git
$ cd pycoin ; sudo python setup.py install
$ # (insert the extra space at the beginning of next command, if not a live-cd)
$  export SEEDPASSWORD="auniquesentencethatdoesntexistinanybooksongorfilminanylanguageandhasatleastonehundredcharacterstobesafe"
$ # (very important: no spaces, no punctuation, no capitals == nothing to forget!)
$ # (double check your passphrase!)
$ echo $SEEDPASSWORD
auniquesentencethatdoesntexistinanybooksongorfilminanylanguageandhasatleastonehundredcharacterstobesafe
$ # (triple check your passphrase!)
$ echo $SEEDPASSWORD
auniquesentencethatdoesntexistinanybooksongorfilminanylanguageandhasatleastonehundredcharacterstobesafe
$ ku -n DASH -s 0p/0/1-10 P:${SEEDPASSWORD} | egrep 'wif|address' | grep -v uncompressed

Yer and Toknormal has been banned for 3 days because of off topic posts, go figure that one out  Cry

If your posts were about Dash, they would be on topic.

But I understand why you would rather discuss off-topic personalities and biographies than address the difficult, touchy subject of why the promised Masternode Blinding failed to appear in the latest release.

People are getting confused because Darkcoin's original goal of privacy has been abandoned in the post-rebrand Dash for retail mass marketing.

For example:

Regarding

Quote
The current goals of development can be summed up pretty simple by saying that, in the short term, we are focusing on making Dash much more accessible to the general public. This includes an Android wallet, iPhone wallet and a very stable version of the reference client.

...given that one of the "core" markets is the privacy market,
....given that the use of DASH without IP obfuscation is not very suitable for a private currency,
.....given that the general public wants easy solutions and if you get too technical in telling them how to set up various anonymity extensions you lost the potential user and you could marginalize the use of DASH

...I think we need to implement a built-in IP obfuscation system that works out of the box from the wallet client.
