What is the decentralised web wallet ?

Is that the donation thing that ED was announcing yesterday ?

No no... that is a separate thing.  It is like a coinbase web wallet, but instead of running on specific servers it can run on the whole masternode network. So for folks that wont be running their wallets etc, you keep things pretty similar to online banking, but completely trustless and decentralized done in a way no one can lose one coin.

So I was thinking I would have my parents use that, as they wont be installing and updating their own wallets, but also they don't need to take risks with centralized services.

Edit: You can listen again between min 28-30, that is where Evan talks about the decentralized web wallet idea.

Not to interrupt the trolling and countertrolling, but Evan's interview is packed with announcements and ideas that he had not expressed before. Listen to it and switch the narrative!!  Grin Grin Grin

I think Transaction Abbreviation is going to be extremely powerful, specially because it will allow to eliminate any bloating side effects from mixing. It is definitely a huge blow to cryptonote coins and will allow the project to scale in a major way.

Yeah! I only listened to it once, but I was like ".... eeeh  whaa.... oh never mind, I'll catch it the second or third time round"

And the distributed hash tables on specific CPU & HDD VPS's ...  Shocked   ... that made my mind explode with ideas!

And tell me you noticed the decentralized web wallet. Cool That actually is my new favorite user friendly project, a web wallet that runs on the whole network, trust-less and decentralized. Great for my Dad, that is the one I will give to him so he does not have to bother with updates and such. That interview has so many jewels on it.
Have to admit it will be great to have this done! Smiley Always LOL for DASH project since early begginings.

 Abbreviated Transactions!! WOW !!

That is an entire Tier-2 Blockchain in itself !!
I totally see for ex; 1k DRKs for full nodes + 0.5k sub nodes!
That CAN theoretically make IX into a time-travel machine!

Like you, pay, but when you pay, its already been payed for, by payment itself, at the exact moment of payment.

You could have a fully blown 0.5 MN's running on extremely low resources!

This is going to be the most powerful initiative in the history of this project. Masternode Operators we really need your support in taking Dash to the next level.

I think the LTB interview with Evan will be seen as a major turning point in the history of DSTB-DASH (Dark--soon to be DASH). The slew of new technological possibilities is certainly impressive, but I think the thing that impressed me most was the moderator's sincere admiration if not wonder at the work that Evan has done. He was clearly impressed, and was certainly not tossing Evan softballs. I think in the future this will be seen as the moment that the Bitcoin community stopped laughing long enough to turn and realize that someone was making significant gains on them, and that they had better pick up their pace if they wanted maintain their status as the lead crypto-coin. I wonder how many folks realized that 5% of the Bitcoin network is composed of nodes executing a Sybil attack. This in itself will turn a lot of heads.

The Game is on. Cool

1) Darkcoin's certain future failure is by it's instamine, of which it would never get over(Too much evidence showing that it was intended, and yes everything has been screenshotted in reference to the instamine, so no point in refuting the acknowledgement that it was most likely deliberate)

2) Darkcoin's parameters have been messed with, which goes against the point of cryptocurrencies. For example: Darkcoin's(now renamed Dash) max coin supply was cut by more than 50%, while also having it's block reward cut by more than 100%, all within the first week of Darkcoin's existence. This goes to show that this "currency" is not decentralized, as it has already been highly tampered with by it's developer.

3) Darkcoin's masternodes is a centralization risk. Masternodes run on servers, servers are centralized, meaning masternodes are centralized and are a risk to the network. Even if masternodes are kept offline, there's an even higher chance of losing the masternode due to human error, accident, etc.

and many more.

Let's Talk Bitcoin! #196 Distortions towards Privacy

On Todays Show Matthew interviews Evan of the Darkcoin project for an in-depth look at how one community has attacked and perhaps solved many of the privacy concerns that are a part of Bitcoin.

Oh, I p/d the darkcoin market regularly. It's easy with this coin. Darkcoin may not have any longterm fundamentals(Since the very beginning it was doomed because of it's parameter "contract" being broken many times over and it's deliberate instamine), but it sure as hell is fun to make money here.
