Thanks for cross posting! This made my day. And cheers to Otoh for making a tough call! I'll raise a glass for you tonight! Cutting losses is hard to do, but I absolutely think this was the right decision. It's tricky business to apply a calm, performance driven investment strategy to cryptocurrencies. But it appears that Otoh did just that with Monero, using a one year timeframe to evaluate its progress. He didn't like the picture, and the dev trolling and time wasting here on BCT pushed him over the edge, so it was time to bail. So Otoh, if it hasn't been said already, thanks for being so open in your thoughts and your trades!

Might be a bit early to tell, but it seems Bitcoin is entering into consolidated bullish territory slowly and steadily. Tok what is your view?

It had crossed my mind. The more it doesn't breach 210-220 the more it looks like a slow trend reversal. It would be interesting to know what the drivers are for the market these days - e.g. actual retail adoption vs speculative, coinbase / bitpay dumping to fiat to support their retail payment gateways, state of distribution etc Next milestones: ETFs, Bitpay merchants, Grexit, Greccident, global collapse.

Interesting to see the trollero images getting deleted but a post calling you guys scammers and image intended to call you cry babies is still here. Did trollero have to cry to the mods to get them deleted or did BCT take it upon themselves to start moderating their forum?

You see this already ? https://jonasnick.github.io/blog/2015/03/06/guessing-bitcoins-p2p-connections/''The main idea of the paper is to first get a set of nodes Ev to which your victim v is directly connected to (“entry nodes”). Second, for each transaction t record the 10 nodes Pt which first propagate t. The authors experimentally show that if |Ev∩Pt| is bigger than 3 then there is a pretty high chance that t actually originated from v. However, both attack stages basically require a Sybil attack – the attacker has to be connected to a lot of nodes a lot of times. ‘A lot’ means that in their experiments they had 50 connection to each full node (~250) in the test network. As a result, such an attack seems to be powerful, but certainly won’t be undetected.''

Dash is 27.3 times faster with syncing and updating than Bitcoin and 93.7 times faster than Monero. Bitcoin (v0.11.0) has a Tao ratio 11.2% faster than bitcoin (v0.10.0) release. Dash (v.0.12.0.49) = Tao sync ratio = 0.15 seconds / hour of update || Dash (v.0.11.2.23) = Tao sync ratio = 0.24 seconds / hour of update. V12 versus V11 speedup = +36.5% Bitcoin (v.0.11.0) = Tao sync ratio = 4.14 seconds / hour of update || Monero (v.0.41.1) = Tao sync ratio = 14.2 seconds / hour of update

################ Notes to the MN. In my opinion, the data volume too high. The time now is certainly okay. But at conversions as LTC, BTC or it will be exciting. Regards Christian I think the new improvements from version 12 may help: Development Update - v0.12.0.0
Udjin has merged all upstream changes from Bitcoin 10 into the project. This means we’ll support much faster syncing via headers-first blocks and various other changes to the core software. I’ve been working on re-implementing the Masternode Broadcast/Pinging classes to be much easier to read and more efficient. This will allow us to finally use inventory messages for updates to the Masternode network, reducing bandwidth by as much as 80%! The code is getting very close to the point where we will no longer require the reference node. The reference node was created in order to solve a problem dash has had since the beginning, unfair masternode payments. With the reference node, the network has round robin masternode payments, but this node is centralized and our goal is to decentralize all components of the network. In the v0.12.0.0 version, we’re going to run the network in a hybrid state where the reference node can be turned off and the network will enforce masternode payments in a round-robin fashion just like it does now, except with no centralization. This hybrid state will allow us to still use the reference node as a backup if needed. Udjin has been working on improved language support for the the Darksend process, which means users mixing coins in other languages will no longer see english errors messages.

Seriously guys stop that, if you wanna talk about Otoh make a thread for that and invite him.... this is about Monero and NOT Post after Post after Post what Otoh did. ┗(°0°)┛ ┗(°0°)┛ ┗(°0°)┛ Yes, let's make a thread to thank Otoh for his lulzy rage-dumpings. The guy who bought most of them, vokain, will be a much better hodler than Otoh was. I hope Otoh buys more masternodes, so the Dash network becomes even more centralized. It will be funny when Otoh and his buddies control the vast majority of masternodes. Oh wait, they already do! LOOL!

We have reached this point before (god, its like living in the twilight zone with these trolls from different coins all coming here with their shitcoinism). That is when the FAQ was created http://en.wiki.dashninja.pl/wiki/FAQIt probably just needs updating. I estimate a need of around 15-20 hours to update the Wiki and FAQ to current information as a lot of that stuff have been rendered obsolete over time, while new questions and content must be added to cover new and planned features. Thing is, I'm running extremely low on spare time as of late and that means it will require a bit of crowdfunding so that I can offload some other work and start with it. That document was exceptionally well prepared and very informative. I remember when I first came across it, virtually every question I had at the time was addressed, and I think it played a key role in my decision to take a more serious look at Dash as an investment hedge against Bitcoin. I think the community would be greatly served by donating time or Dash to update it.

Hello Monero community.
I've refrained from posting about this issue here, but now that I see that this bickering has caused you to lose a major investor, I've got to say my piece.
Granted, I am a Dash investor, but I am one of the more moderate posters in our community. I occasionally tweet about other coin's news, and I pride myself on having an open mind. You will not see me trolling in another coin's forum.
I hope that we can all agree that this type of behaviour is ultimately self-defeating. I have a vested interest, not only in Dash, but also in the greater crypto community. This is the same kind of thing that caused the Dogecoin dev to leave crypto, and quite frankly, makes the whole crypto community look childish at best.
Please, end this now. This has been going on for weeks, and has anyone gained? Dash is losing value slowly, and Monero is plummeting. I think we can all agree that this campaign by a few is not having the desired effect.
Is Dash perfect? Absolutely not. Is Monero perfect? Absolutely not.
Let's respect each other. Just like there is Pepsi and Coke, and Apple and Samsung, there is room for more than one crypto in the future.
Let's use our time going forward to add value to our own cryptos, rather than trying to cut each other down. No one wins that battle, everyone loses.
Maybe then, we will win back lost investors.
Tao
Thank you. Can we at least keep this fight out of the Main XMR and DASH threads as use a dedicated thread such as https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1001642.0. Cross posted from the XMR thread.

I don't think that furthering animosity between our community and that of Monero will yield anything positive.

+1 A horde of trolls (Monero holders) comes here everyday and now WE have to go to a "neutral thread"... I don't care about Monero, I don't want to talk about Monero and I don't want you to justify the existence of your coin and I expect the same from you. If you don't like DASH please get the fuck out. Thanks in advance.
