Remember that too many masternodes is a bad thing. There's a sweet spot and 1000 DRK per node will get us there.
How on earth so ??
Theoretically, it would increase traffic to collapse if there were all Chiefs and no Indians. Kinda like why the TOR network barely works on 3 hops and it would go completely to hell if there were more hops or noise packets used to decrease the usefulness of traffic analysis. These things could be done and they would help, but the network is already barely working... No incentive to give away bandwidth to make those things possible.

3rd possible use for masternodes: incentivising TOR exit nodes....

After updating my masternode and qt to new version i did not receive a payment. Its around 36h now.
I did not generate a new key. Do i have to create a new key ?
As it is listed on the masternodelist with flag 1 i did not see a reason why to create a new one.
Dont get me wrong, i am not whining, only try to help get things together

Please, have a look at this good advice:
Is it bad that I'm so desperate for my first MN payment that I'm not just refreshing my browser anymore, but am clearing the cache each time too! Just in case =)

I think the masternode stats are confusing people.

Because it has a line that says "payment per day", people think that they're actually going to receive literal payments every day, but that statistic is just an average expectation.

I got nothing for nearly 3 days. Then I got 1 payment, then nothing for a day and a half, then I got 3 payments in 6 hours.

It's very random - as intended - not regular. You need to wait 2 or 3 weeks before getting enough "randomness" to measure your 'daily' revenue.

Stop doing silly things like changing your IP address and regenerating privkeys. All you're going to do is irritate your masternode so it won't give you anything. If your node appears in the list, registered with green lights - LEAVE IT ALONE for a week and then worry.

Please do your best!

It takes 4 hours to setup a MN by an expert?

First, if you check my sig, one of the first things I say is I am not an expert.

Second, I take care of the "dirty" side of it, the VPS setup - quick and efficiently

Third, I 'm on IRC (or whatever) making sure the Masternode owner, who has no linux skills at all, understand every single step of the way of the local setup and configs (so I dont Teamviewer or something), which I think is crucial to protect the investment, setting up local.cold / remote setup.

And I do it in a manner that makes double sure neither side is able to scam the other. This includes setting up EC2 account from scratch, and local setup.

And it costs 1% of the total investment.

 Does this offend you?

+1 I learned a lot

Only to the thing with the 4 hours bashing. I am absolutly noob with linux and servers, but with the very good guides from community on darkcointalk and here i got it running. Educate yourself.
Its possible to work it out - for all of us

I understand your position and you make valid arguments

How much do I have to donate to guarantee a new hot babe DRK animated .gif "meme" every day for a year? Yes, I mean a lot of NSFW ones... :-p

It takes me about 10 to 20 min to create a gif (sometimes 30 min). So I would probably take 1 -2 DRK per gif.

My goal is to one day have enough for a masternode.

about 680 DRK missing as you can see.

You are invited to just chip in as much as you like as we move along.

Already I want to create one or two gifs every day.

And ofcourse I prefer the NSFW ones....  Grin

(I will not show nudity though... don't want to get banned, but I guarantee that your mouth will drop...)...

To be honest, I have nothing against XC, but the dev is a real jerk. Openly bashing DRK. Makes me really appreciate Evan.

It was not against your decision to buy support. I also was thinking about it.
It was for all the people who argue here that you have to be a nerd to join darkcoin.

Why even help them? If they can't be civil, leave them to wallow in ignorance. It was bad before, but to have the dev trash talk another coin? Absolute lack of professionalism.

is anyone experiencing any wallet problems? I opened my wallet to update to the new version and had my computer crash on me(black screen, I had to press the power button)

Then I restarted the computer and it did a disk check that I have never seen before. After that the computer restarted and the old wallet didn't want to open anymore.  I downloaded the newer version and had to resync the whole blockchain from 22 weeks ago.... all the coins have returned and I had multiple backups in different locations just in case, but anyone know what might have happened? I was mining on the main pool too, heard it got compromised, could the wallet addresses connected to it get compromised too? Thanks for any thoughts.

EDIT (6/28/2014)
New clients have been released and more changes have been made. Current versions are v9.11.5 and v10.11.5. It is important that all solo-miners and pool operators update to the correct clients! Miners make the network work, and as such you need to use the right client versions, stay up to date and keep our blockchain healthy and stable!

You can find the new client software on the official downloads page of www.Darkcoin.io.
