In b4 our competitors announce even faster instant transactions due to trustless hyper-teleport nano technology

EDIT: This has quite some implications on release plan by the way. For example, open source will probably be delayed until instant transactions have been implemented. Also, the name of the coin will probably be changed. Darkcoin is a good name for anonymous digital currency, it is not for the successor of bitcoin.

Thats what I thought straight away too. I love the name Darkcoin, I would welcome something more universal that relates to both anonymity and fast transactions though.

Woah! 15 second blocks mean that instead of waiting 1-2 hours to get all of your coins anonymized you are looking at 5-10 minutes.

This could be Massive.

Edit: It is a little early to start the coin name flamewar ehem... debate. Let's wait and see exactly what is possible and exactly what the coin becomes first.

I am so glad that Darkcoin is always making so many progresses. Every time I come to this thread there's a new reason for me to feel proud about my decision to be part of the Darkcoin Community.

This could be Massive.

Edit: It is a little early to start the coin name flamewar ehem... debate. Let's wait and see exactly what is possible and exactly what the coin becomes first.

This is hypothetical but - if that was true

IF we had 15 sec's block times....
That would mean that the coins per block would need to be changed.

5DRK / 2.5mins = 2DRK/min
2DRK/min / 60sec = 0.03333333DRK/sec
0.03333333DRK/sec * 15sec = 0.5DRK per Block

6DRK / 2.5mins = 2.4DRK/min
2.4DRK/min / 60sec = 0.04DRK/sec
0.04DRK/sec * 15sec = 0.6DRK per Block

7DRK = 0.7DRK per Block
8DRK = 0.8DRK per Block

and so on........

Like I said, This is hypothetical - but I'm sure Evan has a better plan then this :-) because he said NO BLOAT...

Unless he's gonna have something like mini-blocks within the block it's self - who knows??? LOL MasterBlocks

I should stop - lol

Well he said no hardfork and changing the subsidy is the very definition of an action that requires a hardfork.  Now mini-blocks, hmmm... maybe it is something along those lines.

DARKCOIN: Private instant transactions
RIP Bitcoin, ...

Why RIP?

If this invention is easy to implement and don't require even hard fork - then every other coin just say "thank you" and will use it.
So it may be great for whole cryptoworld - but how it will help DarkCoin to compete?

I don't mean it isn't great - it is great for everybody! But how it can help RIP or at least beat other coins?

If it's truly real and implemented, Evan can choose when to open source it....well after Darkcoin is the number one transacted currency: WE will then be the beneficiaries of the network effect.

Is a video being worked on for Darkcoin already? I saw something on darkcointalk but not sure it will kick of. I am willing to pay a bounty for someone that can create a professional video explaining what darkcoin is, what its features are and why it is poised to rule the world

Darkcoin develops so fast Smiley - every presentation and video will be out-of-date in a week after release.  Grin
