Coins are mixing right now

You guys know that by posting when you are anonymizing coins you are seriously compromising the anonymity of it right?

If you're using more than a round of darksend it would still be very difficult to pin a specific wallet to you, but it still should be taken into account.

Make arbitrary mixing posts frequently at random intervals. Oooh, I just mixed another batch too. Bigger than the last one - or was it smaller - I forget. Drive them crazy.

I think it's just a matter of self-responsibility because it won't prevent you from loosing your coins if your HDD crash, your computer burn or something else. People have to use regular backups of any valuable data they have and that's it. Cleaning your teeth, fastening seatbelt in a car and so on are simple regular things helping to save health/life. Now data is a huge part of modern life and everyone just have to think about their data in that way too. Just doing backups of a wallet and placing them right next to the original wallet is like changing seats in a car that is going to hit a wall refusing to fasten your seatbelt at the same time imo.

yes.
for the purpose of mass distribution, yes.

create a automation process.
create a checkbox in the preferences to create this backups, default on.
you can un-check if you want.

there is nothing bigger that stands in the way of crypto-currencies,
than the friend of a friend who has lost all his [coin]s because his/her wallet.dat was destroyed.

1. come to crypto
2. start to use it
3. destroy wallet
4. learn about wallet.dat
5. backup regularly
6. uncheck the check-box

if you are already at point nr. 5, congratulation. go to nr. 6
but newbiees (and crypto will hopefully see a lot of newbies the next years) start at nr. 1.

the crypto currency that will sucseed is not the one with the fanciest tech,
its the one "Christina from student library" will use.
the one which has a "natural" user interface, and forgives mistakes.

"normal people" dont care about Diffie-Hellman vs. ring-signatures, they care a) if their nerdy friend says it is "safe to use", and b) they understand the GUI. ....And if they will get help in the case they did something stupid/wrong.

i bet the everage user doesn't use this to make backups. one auto backup per session would be ok. just want to make that bulletproof, in the future people who can't read must be able to use it safe.
think of all the smartphone users in africa or india who need a drk "bank account".

What is this ultracoin client? I'm using linux, so I do not want to use anything other than web browsers.

I think I'll wait for the open source full release version, after that there should be official packages for major linux distros. I can download the sources and compile myself but with those fast new releases it'll take too muck time updating wallets.



Another question for the devs: will there be official packages like ubuntu, debian, redhat etc..?  We need an easy way to install wallets on linux.

I know there are linux binaries but updating will be time consuming. I'd like a official ubuntu repo for binaries that can be updated with a single apt-get update command.
Now I have very little DRK, only 45 so I can leave them on exchange site. I'm a small miner and I'm mining on multipools and buy DRK with BTC. My rig makes about 0.003BTC a day.
