i tried using bitfinex but it was way too complicated. i got btc in but could not get it to execute a trade. i sent my btc out of there to my old cryptsy account and luckily got some drk @.00500!
mintpal v1 was great while it lasted but it's done now, i won't be back. i looked at bitrex but was not impressed. i've got a bter account but rarely use it so it's craptsy for me until btc-e steps up. seems like drk and btc-e are the perfect fit.
had the same problem with.bitfinex Smiley
After all you need to move your coins from deposit/trade wallet into exchange wallet to have the possibility to buy/sell Smiley
edit: this is the last exchange I could trade if I will...

thanks, yeah my btc was in the trade wallet so i guess that was the problem. i may give them another try but they are not very user friendly. they do appear to have some cool advanced features though.
btc-e seems to focus on privacy and non US compliance which is good but i guess could be bad if they ever decide to go gox.

I'll pay 50DRK from the bounty fund for a cold/hot remote setup video from scratch  Grin

Someone could just follow this: https://darkcointalk.org/threads/remote-masternode-guide-updated.410

Edit: If more than one video claims the DRK, I'll pick the best quality one.

I tried one a while back but couldn't stand the sound of my posh English accent. But for 50DRK I'll revisit the endeavour!

Bitfinex isn't too complicated. Now it's possible to deposit directly into the exchange wallet, which is better than having to transfer it across.

The default setting is a "Limit" order. You have to set your price in the field beneath where it says "Limit". Then put how many DRK you want to buy in the box in the middle (Order size), or you can click "Buy all" to put an order in for the maximum amount of DRK you can buy with the BTC you have available. To confirm the order, click on the green "Buy" button on the left.

Probably best not to have too many more amazon instances.  The best thing would be for more of a distribution of where masternodes are located.

Amazon, digital ocean, and choopa  are hosting 75% of all the current masternodes.  Almost 50% are hosted in the United States.  You need to make an instructional video that is independent of hosting provider.  Making a video for ubuntu 14.04 is basically universal regardless of provider.

DRK needs to be more spread out not more concentrated.  There are plenty of other providers available to run a masternode on.

I guess nothing matters from now on. Even drk reaches to .2btc, it wont make any difference. Shojayxt now is a darkcoin fan. This is the first sign of the end of the world. We do not have enough time to spend all the we will be making from rise of the DARK.

Good summary of BTC-e Tok. It's certainly an institution (of sorts).

I spent quite a bit of time on the BTC-e troll box in the early part of this year and, in fact, found my way to Darkcoin because of the negative comments about it on there. They often refer to it as DORK. It's truly a fascinating study in human nature to spend time on there and witness the blatant lack of balance and the never ending mis-information that's thrown around (peppered with ad nauseum "arise chikun" and "to da moon" posts....mournfully imbecilic doesn't come close to describing it). It's like the BTC-e troll box is representative of all the issues, anomolies and flaws of crypto in general and you can find dozens of Shojayxt's on there....it's quality central (not!) but it's certainly educational to go on there for a bit.

That was a pretty good summary, I met Shojayxt on the Polo Trollbox, promoting XC & XMR and fudding DRK 24/7...  His mates Pookielax and Lifeing covered the shift 24/7 and ensured there was always someone online to steer people away from DRK.  It definitely was my first experience of a co-ordinated team to steer n00bs in a particular direction...

TrollBoxes certainly are a baptism of fire and you wisen up pretty fast to the sophisticated techniques used to influence people.

I came to the conclusion that if you hear some advice on an exchange chat box, do the opposite...

It is called a trollbox for a reason.

For the record, I have no affiliation with Pookielax and Lifeing.  It's possible that we were all in agreement in the trollbox but that's the extent of my involvement with either of those two characters.

Also, I never promoted XC at all.  I've never been invested in XC for any significant amount.  I managed to ride one of the early pumps and make some BTC but that's about it.  I've never promoted or posted anything regarding XC.

As for XMR, I was an early supporter basically due to the fact that I was mining the coin when nobody else was even looking at the archaic command line interface coin called bitmonero.  I had EC2 instances mining that shit the first week.  I mined tens of thousands.  Because it was an entirely new protocol using Ring Signatures I knew it would pay off and boy did it ever.  I'm still holding some XMR and will continue to do so.  As far as cryptonote coins go, I do hold a significant amount of BBR.  I also mined that in the beginning but not at the level that I did XMR.  I purchased the majority of my BBR with BTC made from the selling of XMR.  My reason for reducing my XMR holdings were due to the arrival of a self appointed king that actually lives in a castle and started dictating the way forward for XMR.  Unfortunately his money and arrogance have done more harm to XMR than good.

I write this only so that you and others can have a better understanding of who I am and why I do the things I do.  It's not much and it's not required but since I apparently elicit anger, frustration, resentment, hatred, and annoyance in so many people, I feel somewhat obligated to provide some of my background.  I'm really not the villain some try and make me out to be.  Like I stated, I allowed personal conflicts with a few individuals to spill over into attacks on Darkcoin.  You were one of those people.  Now you can continue to attack me if you want.  It's up to you.

My focus now is on Darkcoin and doing what I can to support it.  If you're still worrying about me you're wasting your time.

Anyway, for now I'll just sit back, run my masternodes, and buy some more DRK while it's cheap.

This new way of trolling DRK by being nice and supportive by shojay is kind of freaking me out. Good job dude, quality trolling switching it up like that.

I'd like to thank eduffield and the other developers for this critically important evolution in virtual currency. DarkCoin is what bitcoin should have been. Some might call it "Bitcoin 2.0" but would do better by saying: "DarkCoin is digital cash." - Child Harold - February 28, 2014

If thief is clever enough - he/she will convert all stolen coins in Darkcoin to anonymize  Wink

I know it's not just me, but I haven't been able to darksend a single coin with RC5. I've tried every setting and amount possible. It's supposed to be fixed with the next release but still, it's not working for most people it seems. So people with 10k+ DRK can definitely forget about using it to anonymize anything.

You are the first person I have seen post on these forums that Darksend(RC5 or later) doesn't work. Hell, it was even working for camo last time I checked. If you are have some specific issue then please post it on DTC (or even here) as I guess that someone knows how to solve it. It not, then at least Evan knows what he needs to fix.  If you report nothing then Evan has no chance at fixing it.

I will say that it is a known bug that a small number of coins <10 will not Darksend (fixed in the latest release on testnet).

I'm not trolling obviously, I did post about it in DCT too and there were people with the same problem, everything is supposed to be fixed in Darkcoin ONYX release so I'll just patiently wait for that, no worries here, Onyx looks solid as hell.
