wow ... pretty unstable

^
This has got me a little worried...

Is this instability with the new firmware or not?

Have any of you tried dual mode?

Oh and with overclocking we can expect an almost doubling of SHA-256 as well right?

This is why i've been waiting for the real things to arrive with first buyers in the "wild". I've just added the last two second hand 7950's off ebay to complete a six card 7950 rig.

On the verge of either investing in one of these, or a new 4 card R9 290 rig. Power is a factor but consitant hashrates and long term reliability is more important. My first MSI 7950 TF3 OC BE has been hashing 24/7 @ 650 k/h under 250w for 10 months now with no hiccups at 65 deg. And we had a decent UK summer last year.

Power is not so much a home issue in the UK as each ring main is handled by a 32 amp MCB that can load 7200w, My newbuild house has three ringmains in it, kitchen, lounge & 1st floor and 2nd floor. So my house doesn't max out until pulling 21600w.

Heat and noise is the issue.

If these have variable hashing ability and break after six months then saving a few watts is not cost effective. You need hardware that pays for itself 5 x over before breaking, or never breaks.

Any UK buyers on here waiting deliver? Just curious.

M

I was quoted (and paid) $2750USD which asiabtc spot-converted to BTC via Bitstamp to 3.44BTC on Feb 10th 2014.

hi guys sorry i am still trying to make sense of this. Is the below accurate?

1) LA3M USD2600+USD150 for dhl express, 3MHS scrypt+100GHS SHA256. (will be 5MHS for the new shipment per rammy2k2).

It includes 10XUSB cell, 1X controller,2X 12V industry adapter,10Xmini usb cable,10X 12V power cable,1Xusb hub,1Xmini usb cable,1X5V usb adapter

2) LA6M USD5100+USD300 FOR DHL express, 6MHS scrypt+200GHS SHA256.

It includes 20XUSB cell, 1X controller, 4X 12V industry adapter, 20Xmini usb cable,20X 12V power cable,1Xusb hub,1Xmini usb cable,1X5V usb adapter

So for LA3M, it will be equal to 12X R9 270X which cost ~$2800 including all the parts. There is no cost advatange, the advantage is the significant power savings, the disadvantage is resale value (as you can sell video cards much easier).

Is this accurate?

Where is your source for these? Because looking around at a few sites it would seem that the graphics cards alone would cost $2800 to $3300 dollars. Then you add 2 motherboards and at least 4 PSUs....cables, memory, case, cpu.... I find your $2800 price highly suspect.

Which would put LA3M as a much better price.

On the other hand you can buy R9 290s instead of crappy 270s and you need only 4 to get over 3MH/s, one mobo/CPU/RAM/USB stick, no case of course, some risers, one big ass PSU or two smaller ones, all for less than 2600USD.

Yes... and you can burn electricity with those R9 290 maybe 20 x more... around 1300W?!

That's looking at spec on these. With firmware updates we can expect 500+ KH/s scrypt PLUS SHA-256 in dual mode. At that point it's a no brainer and way better than any gpu setup.

I know it was asked before but noone answered.

How much are you boy in the US declaring your package is worth?

I didnt specify with jack yet.

Heres my dilemma on declaring how much its worth...

I want DHL's insurance to cover the full value so if jack declares it 5400 (what i paid then DHL should cover my device?)

If i declare it as 500$ and my device arrives beaten up from shipping then theyre only gonna give me 500$ and id have to hope jack replaces it?

The other side to this is will customs be suspicious of a package coming from overseas with a declared value of 5400 ultimately delaying the arrival...

I am sure upgraded firmware will be created for these devices in time. Im sure there are many people aware of it and waiting patiently for its release.

I also wouldnt be surprised if in the future people create their own firmware which acheives better rates than we have dreamed about so far Smiley

Hey guys, I'm off to China this Sunday and would really like to get involved in buying/sourcing some of these/similair miners. I'll be here for the next 6-12 months and want to make the most of any connections I could make while I'm here. How would one go about finding people currently developing or selling these units you think?

No point declaring a lower value in the US, there aren't any import taxes to pay.  You'll have to provide your tax id number to the carrier if you cross some magic threshold though, and they charge a small fee for customs brokerage (I paid $33 for a pallet of ants).

DO NOT TAKE A CHANCE WITH DHL!!!

I shipped a package a few years ago and they murdered it! Literally drove a forklift through the package, dropped it off on the curb and ran. I then had to fight to get it reimbursed. Thank God it was fully insured.
