i am reporting back here to say I received my miners today. Thanks Jack!!! The only issue is - I can't seem to find the controllers but have the other parts.

That's a pretty big issue!

The controller firmware can only be installed by jack he isn't making it available for people to use on their own.

In regards to a support thread I am working on one it is linked in my signature.

What the hell?!?!

What if we need to upgrade it? Is it possible to update at home?

From my understanding no. But I am not Jack you will have to ask him directly.

You mentioned before that the units can be over clocked without the new firmware correct ?  Can you post a guide how to over clock the units to get the 500 kh/s shown by jack using the new firmware ?

My unit was shipped so should arrive shortly . Would like to get all my instructions in place

Running via cpuminer on the computer you just put the frequency at 900

So it's not possible to do this via the controller that ships with it? Wondering how he had 10 of these showing that hashrate, unless he was running 10 different instances of cpuminer on a host PC? Can it be clocked that high using the controller?

Can someone post a picture of the controller? Is it the one posted earlier with an SD card? Someone else mentioned that it runs linux and SSH. If so, it would be trivial to get cgminer working in a screen session.

I cant seem to find controller did anyone else have this problem?

I have two boxes of 10 - it appears i'm missing just the usb hub. If the blue box thing is the controller atleast.

Here you go though it's pretty basic.  No SD card, just a power, network and usb port.  The controller is listening on SSH port but no one knows the user/pass.

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/117000/scryptminer/controller.jpg

If you can't read it in the picture it says "Costumed by LIGHTNINGASIC" which I got a chuckle from.

oh that's the controller lol. I have that, I guess I'm missing the usb hubs?

Received my LA3M (10 units) yesterday.  Mine are the "gold" variety and they do not have the firmware upgrade button.

So far, I have not been able to mine at all.  Hoping someone can point me in the direction of answers, as there are several roadblocks:

(1) (solved) The OP posted drivers do not work on my system (win 8.1).  However, I was able to get the correct drivers installed from here: http://www.st.com/web/en/catalog/tools/PF257938#

(2) There does not appear to be any firmware upgrade button on mine, so I am unable to upgrade the firmware.  After installing the correct vcom drivers I can successfully connect the device and get a virtual com port, but when I run the firmware upgrader it says USART cannot be opened ... which I assume is because I do not have the white firmware upgade button?  In any event, it appears we are stuck with the shipped firmware whatever that is.

(3) I could not locate a firmware update of any kind for the wiibox controller.  Anyone know where to find?  Beastlymac mentions such an upgrade, but I do not see it anywhere.

(4) After connecting everything and locating the wiibox, I am able to enter pool info, but the miners are all offline and never come online.  https://www.evernote.com/shard/s1/sh/08105abf-788f-4a9b-aeaf-cef0b92f9418/9884f414827d8dcf5f3a267db2b9dea7

(5) In the screenshot above, you can see the USB power is cycling.  Not sure if this is the problem but I cannot get it to start hashing at all.   I am using the supplied powered hub and power supplies.  Note I disconnected 5 units to make testing/troubleshooting simpler, but I do have 10

(6) I cannot SSH into the unit to try to tweak/fix without a password which was not supplied.  Anyone know what the default is?

Any ideas greatly appreciated!

As an aside to those still waiting on units, mine came with (2) power supplies, 10 USB cables for the miners, a powered 10 port USB hub, power cables to go from the power supply to each miner, 110V AC cords (2), 10 miners (gold fins), wiibox controller with USB cable and power supply.  Packaging of the miners was very nice and safe even from DHL's bungling.

How can I determine if I have gold fins or some other type could you post a pic?  I also have the same order but missing the 10 USB hub which I will buy.

The heat sink will be gold color instead of red or silver.

I'm starting to believe this is the case as well in terms of the stall tactic, and that they have run out of stock. But since Jack is manufacturing them, i'm sure it'll be a fast turn around. Also they ship DHL next day, so it wont be long.

Jack is not the manufacturer - he is a reseller. Big difference

This appears to be the same unit:
http://www.amazon.com/Regulated-Switching-Power-Supply-Silver/dp/B007KG0ZYI/ref=pd_ybh_11

Another option if you are thinking of going for more than 10 miners, though more expensive, is:
http://www.amazon.com/Regulated-Compact-Power-Supply-13-8Vdc/dp/B007WMOM4O/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

At 48A continuous, it will power 11 miners (in combo mode, a lot more for scrypt only) by itself and is small, reliable, cool, safe.  If you are thinking of using a high amp supply though, you need a high amp bus and 3-4 AWG guage battery wire to run from the power supply to the power bus.  All of which can be had on Amazon, or from a local auto electronics shop.

Interesting, it doesn't look like any of the previous controllers pictured. I'll have to crack mine open.

is solo mining with this possible? Do you think within a few weeks it will be ?

No reason you can't, just point the miners at the computer running the wallet.

Can you PM me how you do that (generically)? I've been trying to figure that out with my AMT machine, but that's offtopic.

I think the only way to do this is to set up a (private) mining-pool for your coin. then simply connect to this pool using the web interface of the controller (afaik you can't solo-mine directly from the controller).

check this for example: https://www.npmjs.org/package/stratum-pool there are plenty of tutorials on how to set up your own stratum pool.

Thanks for the link. I'm probably gonna go that route, but it was my understanding that you could get the miners to send work to a wallet, if you had the right port. I've either configured it wrong, or I'm just wrong Smiley I'd rather not set up a pool, because I'm a Windows guy. Before I get jumped, I actually think Linux is cool. But I understand Windows inside and out, warts and all, and Linux is... difficult. I don't process as well as I used to. Don't get old, boys, it sucks.

But that being said, I've always been able to bash things until they work. If that's the route I have to go, I have an old PC I can put linux on, and figure it out. Finding time might be a problem, but that's life.

On topic, I really hope Jack gets his shit wired. It would be nice if Bitmain weren't the only ASIC manufacturer that delivers in a timely fashion, and that 1TH machine looks sexy Cheesy
