I have a friend who was fond of using his phone. And believe me or not, my friend is a blind. I helped him install and configure the application settings to his phone. Why am I saying this? I am just wondering if YAPPADAPPADOO project has plans for the blind people to use their applications?
How were you abke to do that? Maybe he is just partly blind and not with both eyes? If he is blind totally he cannot do that in phones and much more if it is touch screen. That will be funny to think but I’m sure your friend sees partly and he can manage to use mobile phones.

He is partly blind at that time but he is now totally blind. But it doesn't matter whether partly or totally blind. The TALKS & ZOOMS applications were developed by Nuance for Symbian phones. I don't know right now if it has an Android version. The low-vision and blind users can use TALKS via hearing which is the main concept of the application. Every move you take or command you do is being broadcast by the phone via a speaker. I just hope YAPPADAPPADOO can create an application that is more like it.

This is great! I was amazed that a blind person can also use a phone like a normal person via hearing. This is the first time I heard that they do can that. That would be great if the applications developer has developed an Android or IOS version of this software so that the blind person can actually continue to enjoy what a normal person can enjoy. YAPPADAPPADOO team will definitely develop one I think.

Good News! There is already an IOS and Android App for the blind. It is called as KNFB Reader app which has the ability to let the blind people listen to the audio readback of printed text like TALKS. But this application is better because it can be used thru Android or Apple devices. I believe that YAPPADAPPADOO can do better than this. This is not quite impossible at all since Progressive Web Apps (PWA) are installation-free and update-free.

Here's my reference for the KNFB Reader App:

https://www.reuters.com/article/apple-blind-app/new-smartphone-app-gives-sight-to-the-blind-idINKBN0HF08S20140920

This thread really caught my attention because It tackles about people with disability (PWD) specifically blind people who use an application for the blind. I am curious so I have research about the KNFB Reader App which is very interesting because it can be used for Apple or Android devices.

I have found a video which is a demo from Peter Tucic, an Assistive Technological Specialist which demonstrate how to use the application KNFB Reader App. I am looking forward that YAPPADAPPADOO project will create an application like this because it will really help the blind person to enjoy what the normal person enjoys.

Here's the video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6SXTC85Nuy0

Great share guys! Another learning from today! Technology really is having a good time in terms of development, from Symbian phones to Android and Apple devices. This is really something. I was really amazed to the things you have shared, that is why I seek something which is the same as KNFB Reader App then I got to found something a lot better because it is free and high-tech. I am sure that YAPPADAPPADOO will be very interested in this application which is called Seeing AI. The greatest thing about this is it's for FREE!

Check this out:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/seeing-ai
Wow! It sounds interesting dude. By the way what is this application all about and where did you find it in which store? Maybe i could also try this application if it is free. Anyway you provided the link below so anyone can check what it is all about. I hope Yappadappadoo will also be able to have lists of good applications in their platform.

Really? Is that true? It’s good to know this. I didnt know they are too specialized on the case like the blinds. It is good then. All these time i was only thinking that blinds have  no chance of using phones. I used to see them reading books for the blinds in the library for the blinds. Hope Yappadappadoo will also be able to develop application like that.

Thanks for the info dude! So nice of them to invent this kind of application, it means they are also thinking about People with disabilities. So everything about the application is just audio maybe. And if they would want to open another application they will use siri.

Spotify can play online. However, if you want to download songs to your device, you can play them later offline too. But having lists of songs in your phone will occupy a big oart of your phone memory. This is contradicting. If you want it offline, it can be at your phone memory’s expense. If you want it no installation you will need a full internet connection

You're right! I'm also starting to think that some of their concept is contradicting just like for example Spotify as what you've said it's indeed contradicting, when I think the purpose of no installation is to save some storage in our devices.

It is not contradicting actually if we try to understand the whole concept.

You see, PWAs are apps that does not require to be installed before you can use them, since it runs on the server itself and not merely on our devices. But content-aware applications such as spotify gives us a chance to play songs offline by dowoading the music content and not the app it itslef.

I hope this helped.

Yes you're right! There's a big difference between the content and the app, because the app is the only focus of the no installation system so meaning to say the app is the only thing that won't affect your storage but when it comes to the content you've downloaded, it's completely take your storage.

Glad to know you got the point naruto.

Content downloads are really user dependent. One can choose to download them, specially for music and videos so they could play them offline, yet, the download will never be mandatory. That is why PWAs will remain a storage saving technology.

Got it! And it just shows that we can have our own choice whether to download the content of the app, if that is more convenient to us especially on our gadget"s storage or simply access the PWAs.
But that will only be for selected applications man. Not all applications will do. Most are internet dependent. Downloading content will just be good for music, books, and movies but if you need to get datas from the web you will need internet connections on that. Like if you are editing something, not all have the features offline.

That's the beauty of this project, the users will encounter true satisifaction of PWA which is multi-platform, lightning fast and clever to work

offline. Then, yappadappadoo Store will link to the Blockchain. Independence, transparency and security are guaranteed.

Indeed, those things/features are really guaranteed by the use os PWA, with such amazing project. I think that when time comes this project will be very popular since it offers features that are really needed by mostly of the people especially the millennials which are known to be very active in conputers.

Yes, you're right that some applications are internet dependent especially native apps. They mostly relies on the internet to run, not like the yappadaappadoo app that can able to run offline because it's a cloud base application which is one of the features of PWA. Anyway if you choose to download the app, your storage wil be affected because the PWA features only supports the application not the content you'll download.

do you think it is possible for the blind person to take the chance of what yappadappadoo can give an opportunity for a disabled person?

I think in the meantime it will be hard for them to give a chance for the people like them to take this opportunity. Due to Yappadappadoo is not

designed for the blind people so far. I don't mean anything but I'm just telling or stating fact only.

Now a days with everything can be develop and people are bringing up innovative ideas
the possibilities are endless, i think this is not impossible to achieve.

i totally agree this project is ambitious and gives users lots of advantage such us
to be able to use it offline it is a very good plus factor, also compatible in all platforms
and no need for installation and updates normally this gives users hassle because of poor connections.
I just hope they can deliver these features good enough to satisfy its users.

exactly! Its really a hassle to update applications specially when you have poor connection
what more by installing it. This Project is obviously user friendly.

I'm interested on how they will be developing the suite since that's where the new apps are gonna be made. If it is really PWA, the apps can be made without using the suite since creating simple web apps can be done easily enough through online materials.
The suite should contain templates especially if it's going to be mainly games. Developers won't be encouraged in using the suite if it would just be the same as starting from scratch since they probably can do it on their own.
Everything about PWA is available on the web since web app developers are assisted by developer groups like google. They should design the suite better so that developers and those who want to try to create their own web apps would use it.

There should be a differentiation between using the suite, using xcodes stuff and using whatever you can use from the internet. If all things needed to create a web app is on the internet, the suite should have all of it.

There should be a differentiation between using the suite, using xcodes stuff and using whatever you can use from the internet. If all things needed to create a web app is on the internet, the suite should have all of it.
The yappadappadoo suite would definitely be one of the main factors for this projects success since that is where the apps will come from. If they are able to make it better and easier to use, it would be patronized.

Until now, apps have been prisoners of their own separate ecosystems. Now the app world is making the long-awaited break for freedom.

I'm interested on how they will be developing the suite since that's where the new apps are gonna be made. If it is really PWA, the apps can be made without using the suite since creating simple web apps can be done easily enough through online materials.

Unlike xcode, probably all the materials needed to create a web app and PWA are available online, the suite should be able to create a template design for developers to follow.

Everything is available in the internet, just need to google it and you will have almost all how-to stuff, but it's a little bit different when creating apps I think since they need more specific things in it.
