I much prefer the "E" being the same height now, but personally, I don't like how the rim reminds of a casino chip.

Thanks for your honest feedback. I think I got stuck a bit on some of the elements in that design.

Here are my last two attempts to play a bit with the basic idea:

I would put the writing "new economy movement" below the "NEM" but other than that it's awesome.
Also if we where to decide to move away from a coinish design, i can totally see that work without the white circle.

Actually, I was sketching logos last night and came up with the same idea as you, representing NEM with the 8 lines. I think it is the way to go for a logo.

I wouldn't add any text in English on the coin. If you want to add text, write it in binary or hex. Japanese katanaka could look cool, as well.

I like the design,especially the etchings( like a real coin)  but it feels a bit "dry" . Is it not possible to make it more luminous. sorry, if i offended u.

NXT 0.6.0 was released.
AFAIK this version is the one they were holding back a little due to major refactoring they were trying to keep away from clones as long as possible.

Is this verison going to be the base for NEM ?

Thanks to all for the great feedback and ideas.
This evening I will eventually come around to add the pure logo without the coin design. I would create two versions, one with the longer "E" and one with the shorter one as it was proposed by hydkyll.

No worries. I specifically made a flat design as it was desired by most people. Personally I also like things a bit more flashy.
I am not a designer by any means but I have learnt quickly now that it is impossible to make everybody 100% happy.

I'm not a designer/artist but I think I have a good eye for design. These need to be played around with and colours changed etc but i want to suggest a different direction for the logo. Like Bitcoin you need a strong simple logo, instantly recognizable. Highly detailed designed coins are not what you want. So I would ask for the designers here to play around with these ideas. You dont need to get NEM into the coin, I think the big thing is fairness and equality so I thought the = communicates this but not too much that you seem like your a communist.
