Nice post yurkomik. I like your ideas very much, I too think we need a market where we can trade/buy real goods with NEM. Without a proper market, NEM is just another dead coin in the long-run( 1 yrs?)
As of this moment, two events are likely to happen with the release of NEM Scenario 1: NEM gets released, people start to rush to dump their coins to make a quick buck leading to a dead cypto. Scenario 2: Most people hoard their coins for forging, unintentionally artificially inflating price ( NXT?) but susceptible to big price volatility with the smallest trade activity, rendering the currency useless.
Money was created to facilitate trade between goods and services, with cryptos we are creating money without goods and services. 99% of all alt currencies will be dead in a year all due to lack of a market, lets make NEM the exception to the rule. We really do need participants for this experimental currency to succeed not silent stake holders.
Let me be one of the first to volunteer , My name is Pasang I own a small hotel in Bhutan. I could offer my rooms in NEM but since most of u guys are probably not in my locality it would be pointless, instead I would be willing to post 10 items for sale every month for sale priced in NEM on its release for the next four months to get the ball rolling.
I hope more of you will join me in this endeavor, We are all potential NEM coin millionaires and now it is up to us to make this million actually worth a million or just worthless digital numbers.
We have been bouncing around ideas to create a market structure for real goods. One of the problems is that of trust. There has to be a mechanism for feedback for both the buyer and seller, that is built into the system. I hope to include something like this for NEM in the future. Agreed! If we can get a reputation system that is linked to the account alias we will have huge advantage against all other coins! @Jaguar: How do you feel about storing reputations in the blockchain ? One could pay 1 NEM to store a -1 or +1 to a specific address. I know changing address is not exactly hard but at least they'd have to change address and people tend to be more cautios with new addresses. Also maybe the reputation could be transfered to the new address ? Like marking the coins that are owned with a rep instead of an address ? Just thinking out lout here It's something that we could look into. Could the reputation system work so that it would be free to give feedback, but you could only give feedback to an account you have traded with before and only one feedback per trade. It should be also done so that the right to give feedback would expire after some time, so that you couldn't come after 1 year to give the feedback. IMO this is the best possible way to implement this reputation/alias system...

Thanks for the comments. The cheesy parts was originated from a source I do not dare to name here I am working on wording for the front site of NEM and I like a more direct and forceful sentencing style too. So it will be more professional, more inspirational without the cheesy parts. I will solicit comments when the site is open for preview. While I am not a native speaker, the front page did get edited by an English writer. Looking forward to it! Does this mean we're deciding on a logo soon then? I personally really like this logo. I've seen two prototype websites listed by users 'Nbower' and 'erkki12' on Trello. I'll link them here so Bitcointalk guys can see 'em and give feedback: Personally I'm a huge fan of both; they look clean, inviting and give off a professional aura. My personal preference is Nbower's stye; huge, easy to read blocks of informative text, friendly and aesthetically pleasing (I really like the blue theme).

It's something that we could look into. I think all of these ideas are fantastic, and it's really great people are brainstorming for ideas to make NEM unique. However, I think, for the first release of NEM, it's important we have at least these two things: - A working client.
- A working exchange (decentralised or otherwise).
Just bear in mind how easy it is to get bogged down with too many (admittedly good) ideas. I think it's important to get the coin out there into the crypto world, before the idea of NEM stagnates and the community we're building deflates somewhat. Just the prospect of a new coin can only maintain the momentum we're building for so long. What do you think?

A quick update:
the stakeholder list is back online again and is updated to page 20 of thread 2. There are a few cases of duplicate hashes that cause us to take an extra time in checking the list. Luckily, as I see it there is probably just one or two fraudsters that tries to take other's transactions and claim a stake. Now in the case that two accounts having the same hash, then one would be legitimate and one would be a fraudster, I would apply these criterion:
1. veteran account would be considered legitimate while new account would be labeled "fraudster". 2. if two accounts are both new; priority is given to the account that post the hash first. The account posts the hash later would be labeled "fraudster".
These two rules could be reversed if a conclusive evidence of the hash's ownership is provided either by: 1. the transaction is signed by one account; 2. a small amount is sent from the sending address to NEM's address to prove the ownership of the sending account.
Thanks for supporting NEM and I apologize for the lateness of updating the stakeholder list or the inconveniences these above methods causing legitimate stakeholders.
We have been checking thoroughly registration thread 2 from the start. When we catch up with the thread 2, a similar audition of thread 1 will be performed.
UP
Dear NEM community, I have finished thread 1 about duplicated hashes and I would like to ask you to check it out. If you find your username on the list try to prove your ownership how utopian mentioned above. You can also check who used your hash/tx ID. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AgHJzpkvTvCxdFFvQ0pLRmNsbWM5ekNxY3lmcHdWa1E#gid=0Edit: any of this case please leave a note in this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=450200.0

some updates: 1. My last ad in Doge subreddit is from 2/15 (today) to 2/16. I want people there to see our development plan not the bunch of envy comments so go there and upvote my development plan comments http://www.reddit.com/comments/1wq6wj/envy_no_more_the_first_egalitarian_coin_join_the/?sort=new . Now despite of all "envy" and" hate" comments, we have close to 2000 click-though from Doge-Reddit. It is getting attention 2. Koream has checked thoroughly thread 1 for duplicate hashes https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AhnotCbeR7nrdDlfanJzQS1lQkVGT1J2ZktWNmVCX2c&usp=sharing#gid=15If you are not qualified in the stakeholder list (no Y next to your account) and your account is in duplicate hash thread, you will need to prove that you own the sending account by sending a very small amount to NEM address and let us know the transaction ID. As long as your accounts have a "Y" then you are fine. 3. News but not sure good or bad. Before I have a chance to buy them, Neweconomymovement.com and Neweconomymovement.org have been taken by someone else, probably a NEM stakeholder I will have Nemcoin.info up in a few days for a preview. tbh I always thought 1 site was enough anyway. 3 sites = confusion unless they're all the same. Thx for the Update !

Hi Kooream, Great work man, respect! I saw my name on the list for a duplicate hash and my brothers account, Flepper, (paid by me) marked as possible fraudster. In the other thread I explained this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=450200.msg5032852#msg5032852Utopianfuture already told me to wait, but is that still the case? Do you want me to sent another small payment to prove these are mine?. Mike

The fund raiser ends after page 90. It will probably be several weeks after this before the coins are distributed, correct? Is there an estimated time or a time we're shooting for? I'll be checking back regularly and in the meantime I'll be roaming these forums. I would like to say I'm pretty excited.

I'll be checking back regularly and in the meantime I'll be roaming these forums. I would like to say I'm pretty excited. There is no given time-frame for the release of the genesis block. The developers have recently announced that they'll be building NEM on the best ideas of NXT and BTC from the ground up with new code, which obviously takes a longer time than simply cloning the NXT code. I'd estimate 2-3 months? I'm no programmer, but the time between the IPO of NXT and its official release was 3-4 months. The genesis block was mined and distributed long before that. Having said that, I have no idea how many people were working on NXT and how much time they put into it per week. We're definitely looking at no sooner than April I reckon. It's still very much in it's early stages. I am also very excited! The best thing about NEM so far is it's community; there are so many eager, nice and intelligent people here
