The vibe that I get from this 2Kool4Skewl guy goes totally against what NEM is trying to stand for.

This is irrelevant. He should no be removed for posting his opinion.

His opinions were not honest they were baseless criticism and FUD. His opinions were of somebody that doesn't want to see this thing succeed.

Imagine that you were starting a business and your partner wanted it to fail. Would you tolerate him wanting to sabotage it?

Do you not understand how damaging it is for your community when the main dev takes away a person's stake because he doesn't like what they say?

I am positive utopianfuture will make sure you get your stake.

You see... I had reserved a stake on page 4 or 5... but because of all that FrictionlessCoin drama I deleted my post.  When I contacted UP to see whether he can retrieve a Google cache of the post so that I get my stake back... he was very professional and rejected my request because the actual posts in the thread is what proves which people are entitled to a stake... as well as when they actually showed interest.

In other words... if one can't get his/her stake back after having deleted the relevant post... NO stake can be removed if a person's post is still there!  Right, UP?    Undecided

Finally got some time to come back over here.
NXT and NEM really should not be fighting
There is plenty of space out there to take over from the 1st gen coins
I dont understand what went on here
But there have been examples of  'founders' of NXT 'bullying' when they don't agree with people's opinions
It doesn't go down well.
I would respectfully suggest NEM learn from this.

NXT and NEM can not fight. Individual members of each community can. You should be able to discuss, criticise, fight, ask, for whatever reason you feel like. I don't see the need to prohibit anyone from expressing his/her personal opinion on neither NXT nor NEM. One should be free to do so. This should not be a place for dictatorship.

What if after Nem is "released" dev put  "backdoor" in the code such that in future they can "remove" anyone's coins if they don't like what they posted?

WTF is that?

Dictatorship?

I think we should brainstorm about how to get a FIAT <-> NEM service going.
Any ideas ?

PayPal shuts you down before you can say "new econom... aaaan your shut down.

If you wan't to work with wire transfer you have to go through tons of legal issues.

Physically sending the money takes way to long.

I'm not sure how many countries have internet banking that offers fast money transfer? In the UK and it would appear Holland a company called Bittylicious acts as a broker and escrows the crypto-currency for fiat. If I want to buy Bitcoin for fiat I enter an amount of Bitcoin and get a fiat price in pounds. If I'm happy then Bittylicious present the seller bank details, I use these details on my internet banking person to person fast payment system. The fast payment system normally completes in a few minutes but can take upto a maximum of 2 hours. Bittylicious (somehow) monitors the payment and registers when it is complete, they then transfer the Bitcoins and again wait for at least 1 confirmation.

Maybe this could be an option to attract new people into NEM straight from fiat?

https://bittylicious.com/

KC

I trade a bit on Bittylicious and I'm talking to them about adding non BTC derived alt-coins like NXT, NEM but they seem a bit limited in their back end integration capabilities, if you spawned from BTC sources they can do it, but other coins they don't seem interested at the moment as its a problem adding something so different when adding BTC alt-coins is easy.

More people should ask, get set up as a trader and trade something else like me then your 'ask' will mean something.

One of the problems with NXT is the lack of a 'contact' / blueprint for exchange integration - if NEM can provide this it will make the solution easier for the exchange devs to figure out how to add it.

Hi Vladimircook,

Nem is a pointless clone currency.  It offers no features that Nxt does not already possess.  A significant amount of funds have been taken from individuals and they are going to get nothing for it.  That is unethical.

I've read the dev plan, its interesting, would like to read more...
Its a copy of NXT in places - nothing wrong with that.
Its changed sufficiently to make it different and in places I like the differences, I might say improvements
The dev list is impressive given some of their posts I have see in the NXT threads and the things they have pointed out.
NXT isn't perfect
NEM probably isn't too
Something else will come along, copy both and innovate again.

So i'm sorry but I think this opinion is wrong - there is a point to this.

But I still don't think that justifies the action someone has taken against 2Kool just because they can...

SO!

I've been gone from the NEM thread for, oh, 60 pages or so... see that we've had some excitement. Excitement and skinned knees are ok as long as we kiss and make up (or split amicably)! Smiley

Is there a tentative launch date? Do I need to do anything else to secure my stake? Do I need to catch up on the last 60 pages for anything important?

No, just check page number 1.

The first post of UP. Check section "Updates".

A NEM collaborative idea

Friends, I think we have people from all over the world in this project. We have people from Germany, US , China, Japan, South Africa, Russia, Holland,India just to name a few. I myself is from Bhutan.

How about we create a website where NEM stakeholders from different countries put up stamps and coins for sale in exchange for NEM. We can then donate a percentage of any profit to a charity.

Stamps and coins are not expensive and always in supply, any stakeholder can take part with minimum financial commitment. I know its an idea with limited scope, but it could serve as a catalyst for further growth and publicity for NEM.

I am not a webdisigner but I would be willing to contribute in cash or coin to anyone who takes this initiative.

I have been thinking about a charity idea aswell. After some research I found this German organization www.herzenhelfen.de , they build schools and orphan homes in Peru. I contacted them yesterday, to know if they want to add cryptos to their payment options. The reason I chose this organization is because it does not work with a marketing firm (which most do, consequently lowering the % of money getting to where its needed)
My Idea after the genesis block would be to make a fund raiser and for every stakeholder to chip in a little NEM voluntarily. Or even get them their own share maybe!?  (Since their seems to be an unclaimed one Smiley)

oh and I`d love to post this in the Trello, but I feel really incompentent using it.

NEM is first of all a community of which people share a certain ideas and goals and we going to build NEM/ Nemcoin as our decentralized payment platform together as we go along. I see no reason to keep people that are unhappy with NEM and this approach.

reminds me of some Hitler's and Marxist speeches Cheesy
Quote
The new development which now set in, however, meant that there had to be a new orientation not merely of our ideas but also in regard to the practical policy which we had to carry out. Even today certain individuals who have fallen in the march of events refuse to adapt themselves to this change. They cannot understand it because it is beyond their mental horizon or outside the sphere of their egotistic interests. Our National Socialist teaching has undoubtedly a revolutionizing effect in many spheres of life and has interfered and acted under the revolutionary impulse.

Here's an idea for the public audit.

There are 113 pages of Nxt transactions:

Say I'll check last 23 pages: from 90 to 113. Is there anyone willing to check previous pages? We only need 6 people to check all Nxt transactions and 12 people to double check them.

Update: If you like the idea, I'll create a self-moderated topic where we split pages to check.

Example.

Someone bought two stakes:
http://87.230.14.1/nxt/nxt.cgi?action=3000&acc=978256747923058615
Then sent money to a new account:
http://87.230.14.1/nxt/nxt.cgi?action=3000&acc=10608880799684994787
Then sent money to another account:
http://87.230.14.1/nxt/nxt.cgi?action=3000&acc=12956190138975700589
And bought two more stakes.

Although there is no proof it's the same person, but anyway all these stakes need a closer look, right? So let's start with this kind of audition and see if we can find more evidences.

isn't it more effective to start from nem account and go transactions backwards to "root" accounts, maybe stop to some day in January?
maybe some script is easy to do to collect all the accounts, then sort them and voilá Cheesy

The vibe that I get from this 2Kool4Skewl guy goes totally against what NEM is trying to stand for. According to an earlier post he's an original investor in NXT or got them close to nothing. That probably gives him a lot of power at the exchanges, and after having a taste of that power, he cannot stand the idea of hundreds of people having an equal amount. I mean that's just my personal vibe, after seeing how easy it is to manipulate the exchanges. I cannot even sell NXTs unless I sell it at a cheaper price from somebody wanting to do a quick sell, because if I do it the other way then immediately after somebody post 100NXT at a cheaper price. And with Nem these people would lose such power to manipulate things.

That's just my vibe.

My main concern is that Nem and Nxt have the exact same stated goal: "The creation of a new economic movement."  I full-heartedly support this objective.  I do not believe a division of resources best serves this purpose.

I also don't like to see people giving away their Nxt for nothing, which at this time, is what they have done.  They have given it away for the promise of something in the future.  When I posted "interested", I didn't know that Nem was going to start collecting Nxt and Btc.  I think this collection is unethical, because I can't see anything worthy of a dev fund.

I try to be honest and fair in all my dealings.  My intent is to strengthen "the new economic movement" not destroy it.  I know the true economic movement was started with NXT by BCNext and I will support it to the end.  Remember, I am the one that stated, "Do not mistake us as just another cryptocurrency.  We are a movement."

If NEM has all the functionality of NXT and a better initial distribution it will do better than NXT as a function of that distribution.

I don't think any one can speak for BCNext except BCNext that disappeared in unusual circumstances

see my earlier post on one possibility of what is going on with NXT.

Dewey, I would luv to contribute what I can. As for trello, just PM Utopian Future, he will add you to the promoters page. U should definitely let the community if the charity is interested. I know NEM right now  is just developing but its people like you, who that gives me hope that this movement ours just might succeed.

Hello all!
I suggest using this logo for NEM. This is not a coin, it is necessary to deviate from a circular shape.
