Thanks for the reply

I used the deposit using Bitcoin function of the wallet.

You're welcome.
Did you use the deposit using BTC-function of the Ethereum-wallet or the Multibit-wallet?

I used the deposit using BTC function of the ethereum wallet.

It gave me a deposit address and told me that it will be converted into Ether and sent to my Ethereum wallet address.

I'm still awaiting its arrival after 24+ hours

Did you check the BTC deposit adress you were given via BTC-blockexplorer  if your payment from multibit wallet went trough?
Bitcoin has a lot of unconfirmed transactions these days, so small amounts can take some time to reach its destination.

You are correct. The fees have risen and people often send btc with the default fee set in bitcoin core, even if the slider is set all the way to fastest its still not enough of a fee. You need to set a custom fee otherwise will be hours upon hours to confirm

If your funds are still in your Multibit-wallet then something went wrong, but you didn't loose anything.
I don't think your deposit will ever be made.
Open an account on a crypto-exchange, deposit BTC there and buy ETH.
Then you can withdraw from the exchange to your personal Etherbase.

Regards, djoser.

the funds have left my Multibit wallet and must be lost in cyberspace. It's not a large amount - just a few £ so I'm not really bothered about losing it, I'm more concerned about if the wallet is working correctly and ive not done anything wrong myself.

It may be because of what rocketron has written about it taking hours and hours to confirm as I didn't alter any fees

thanks for your help

If you want to, you can pm me both BTC adresses (your multibit and the deposit adress you were given) and i can investigate further...
If it is because of the slow btc confirmations you should at least see an unconfirmed transaction with your Multibit adress...

Just downloaded the ETH wallet on MAC. Now with the homestead release I'd like to know if its really safe? I have a serious amount of ETH and a bit reluctant to send to much until i know it's all ok.

Search "Github Ethereum Mist Wallet Release" in Google.  Wallet 0.5.1 is the latest.  I don't like posting links because of scams.

I should be safe to use but always make a backup of your wallet files. I'm also testing the Jaxx wallet for OSX atm. Very easy to use and works like a charm (also).

It takes a lot of time confirming a small btc transaction (with normal fee).

>>WDDM is Windows Display Driver Model. It basically dictates the driver architecture for GPU vendors that seek Windows support. But you can indeed use old Windows 7 (WDDM 1.1) drivers on win8/10 to get rid of the downgraded performance using Compute 5.2 cards (5.0 need not bother). There's a guy @Mo35 on the ETH forums that took the effort and confirms it works.<<

Anyone know where that info is please and the hashrate on a 980ti gtx nvidia windows 8.1?
Thx

@Mo35 are you there?

So I get my new GPUs and I can mine it at 60 MH now. When I try to mine other dagger coins, I can get 70 MH with no changes, is this the normal? Also do I have any hope with going solo and find blocks?
Which gpu gives you 60 to 70mh's?
