I am running Ethereum Wallet 0.5.2 (newest I think) Mist on Mac OSX. (Says Geth under Activity Monitor.) It catches up with the blockchain every time I start it but if I leave it open it ALWAYS falls behind. It shows I have 8 peers. When I try to send any Ether it just hangs there and then when I exit I get a timeout error. Is there a port that needs to be open or something? (I get peers though so it seems like it can connect.)
If this is not the place to ask, apologies in advance, just point me in the right direction please.
Thx, Its about sharing

BTC = Black Swan. BTC = Antifragile - "Some things benefit from shocks; they thrive and grow when exposed to volatility, randomness, disorder, and stressors and love adventure, risk, and uncertainty. Robust is not the opposite of fragile.

seems like ether will take off... but so did a few other coins back in 2014-2015 dark coin black coin to name a few but they all fell down hard. ether looks like its going the same direction people might be making money but with all the hardware to mine the coin now its impossible once again for average joe to get a piece.

Not really impossible to get a piece. You can buy a 280x and cover the costs in less than 2 months even if price does not moon.

If you don't know computers and how to build your own, yes it is impossible. If you have a minute PC hardware knowledge, you can earn about 2.5x BTC mining earnings after the same cost and power expense.. It's a no brianer. I know everyone is trying to scare away new miners in eth to secure their few extra $$, but it is, what it is. Also, there is a reason why there are 300x as many buys as sells on the market for eth...........

With a 280x and a 290x I'm mining about 1 ETH per day. It still amazes me to see the huge swings in hashrates on both cards.

All my cards are pretty steady with their hashrate. I'm watching it poolside, the 290x has been as low at 10M and as high as 60M. On the miner they are steady. I just let them run!!

Everything now in this world is a bubble! BITCOIN bubble was massive and after burst it found support at much higher value that it had in its first years... I believe today we are in a much worst global uncertainty and even more with all this printing of fiat and new order trying to take us into complete collapse... So pretty soon many new users like me will find about crypto and start pumping the crypto market cap... If this happens the bubble can be endless lol.... Either way to be sure once you reach a nice profit just secure some fiat amount and what you invested and let the rest run to infinity or doom ! Pretty easy going

My mist wallet is stuck on block 1145877. It connects to peers but won't sync. I have tried checking the experimental serve box, and it stats syncing, but it assigns me with a new address. I have sent about 44 eth to 0x56B22D5504dcdCA04294eb5ABD0C752BcfB43E88, and need to recover funds from my old address.

well good luck with that, theres no team or support, or definitive documentation to refer your problem too lol, and they said eth would run on a 21inc computer.....

for those mining through geth a command to show the highest diff solved in last x hours would be useful..
i see a lot of solo miners complaining about variance and lack of blocks found.

No, only have 2 miners so I'm using just ETHMINER im on with 2 sapphire dualx 270x on EthMiner too. Avg 25-30 Mh/s. The nano shows extreme hi/lows as well but averages about right with what the miner says on PC. Im having a tough time keeping the ETH.exe flowing, it runs fine for a bit then stalls out with no updating. EthMiner keeps running and pool rate shows mining and is paying out. But whats up with the eth.exe stopping all the time? This last stall from a restart has been 2 hours with no eth.exe work flow, any idea?
