Hello, I have Ethereum-Wallet-linux64-0-8-7. on Linux Ubuntu 16.
I previously had problem with Bitcoin Core totally freezing the computer which was solved by limiting number of CPU cores/ threads working on it to 1 in bitcoin.conf file (CPU is Pentium N3700, 4 cores).
I have the same problem (total freezing of computer) with Ethereum wallet as well. Is it possible to limit CPU usage of Ethereum Wallet? If yes - where it has to be specified? Thanks.

I have been running the latest version of geth for a few days after syncing the block chain from scratch. But now when I start the wallet or Mist (v0.8.7) they are out of sync by about 4000 blocks. I get the small window with the message "Ethereum node needs to sync, please wait - Downloading block 2,705,164 of 2,709,143". But after 12 hours the process has actually fallen behind rather than catching up with the current block. Is this a known problem and if so is there a fix in the works?
Don't the wallet and Mist use the same DB as geth? How could they be out of sync?

There are so many eth forks, it's difficult to sync all of them. |

They had a chance (tbh. they had alot of chances) and they wrecked it... still believe in a comeback Its been quiet for some time now,that is why price is low, no big news or announcments... but I am not worried at all, its the biggest and strongest( money) team in crypto world behind ethereum. In 2017 I excpect big things to happen... But have to thank to all that are selling now, just got some very cheap eth. |

In 2017 I excpect big things to happen... But have to thank to all that are selling now, just got some very cheap eth. I think it has more to do with the fork and problems with syncing that occurred afterwards. |

0.01 ATH in 2017, is the fork screwed Ether again? I bought a few at 0.018, I lose a few bitcoin, fortunately, only a few.

Market has no patience anymore and is fedup with the drama surrounding ETH since June. |

I would imagine the large numbers of new people to crypto who are involved with Ethereum has more to do with pre-christmas price drops. Most of the cash purchases for ETH have dwindled in the run into Christmas - because these people have switched their spending to Xmas priorities (gifts and family expenditures). This tends to effect most crypto's big in the Western spheres and Eastern spheres. After Xmas ETH price will pick up again  Then, there is POS implementation at end of Feb or beginning of March. It should be remembered: Proof-Of-Work System does need to raise a lot of fresh cash from new purchases. When Ethereum goes to Proof-Of-Stake, it will no longer need to raise lots of fresh cash from purchases. |

No that isn't happening in Feb or March. What's your source for that? Ethereum hit's it's max coins for the non-Proof-Of-Stage stage at 90 million around that date - then the Ethereum Foundation get's into legal obligations to do a POS. There are only 3,558,999 ETH left for the Proof-Of-Work period. |

Please update Ethereum wallet after updating geth. We make serious project on Ethereum, it is not a kindergarten.
It might be possible. But the Ethereum has to have some good apps to revive the price. There are too many problems. |
