The fact Ethereum Price Loses 10% in BTC Value as Bitcoin Reigns Supreme https://t.co/qZUQaHXU5F
No one is surprised to see most alternative cryptocurrencies lose value against Bitcoin right now. After all, that is the normal outcome whenever the Bitcoin price is surging. Especially with Bitcoin’s new all-time high in place as we speak, the Ethereum price is taking a bit of a beating. Although the value still hovers near $296 for the time being, it remains to be seen if this price point can be maintained for much longer. Altcoins are literally bleeding value left, right, and center right now.

Since the fork the network speed and low transaction fees are amazing. Why does ETH/BTC keep falling despite the clear improvements? :/

What did you expect? BTC is money. ETHf is fuel and very expensive one. We all have cheaper fuel like ETHc that is doing the same job.

ETC is a useless fork from long ago. Nobody wants it. Cheesy

agree , ETC is totally useless, ETH is the ONE ( i am an ETC owner Smiley )

the main future event of ETC is the limiting issue

ETH is doing fine despite the SEC news, I wonder what will happen in the future after they start enforcing it.

I have read that ether is fuel and btc is money, but i don't understand philosophy behind this.
What a coin offers that ether does not?
Maybe the answer is that ethereum network benefits more from a cheaper ethr than an expensive one.
Does one of the targets of any forks is to lower fuel price to attract more customers?
If the above are true, I should sell my investment as soon as possible.
In the case of Neo, they offer different concepts for share of network and fuel for it. But here ether is both. Which is better?

In past months I have seen a rush into simulating coin behaviors by smart contracts. The result is different coin tokens on Ethereum. Some are:
ebtc, ecash, ieth, postoken, basic income, ....
Creators claim that these are more secure + cheaper + faster than classic block-chain base ones.
Don't you think that these creatures are going to dominate classic ones because of better properties?

There is a new exchange, Kucoin - since the end of September apparently, but is is growing fast.

Very good exchange rates for ETH  Grin . Latest price was 0.04635377 BTC.

The website feels smooth and intuitive: https://www.kucoin.com/#/signup?r=E3CthM

It will become a very big player opposed Binance and Coss because it is using the same (but better) strategy with Kucoin Shares (KCS) that share the profits with the traders.

It is not on coinmarketcap yet but when it will be, it will expand even faster.

I like that there is no need for verification (ID, proof of address of payed bills), the founders really want to appeal to a very big audience. They are based in Hong Kong. Big things ahead!

I'm gonna load up some ETH and Kucoin Shares and just watch it grow  Cool

The question is more what other coins does that ETH doesn't....  Cool

Seriously, ETH can be use as a simple mean of payment or store of value just like BTC does. But ETH (the network) goes way beyond being a simple cryptocurrency: it aims to be an universal, decentralized computer where you can do whatever you want (if it can be coded of course...).

One of the main use of this computer (for now on at least) is to create smart contracts fueled by their own cryptotokens: the (in)famous ERC20 tokens. It's something in between sidechains and colored coins with BTC but with a more convenient and powerful way to develop things on it. This conveniency and standardization is the reason why many projects are blooming on ETH network and much faster than on BTC blockchain (even if this last one is much older).

But no, ERC20 token won't overcome ETH because you'll still have to pay for using ETH computer by using some gas that you can buy only using ETH (the cryptocurrency). So even if one heck of a dApp comes out and its cryptotoken costs a billion, it will still needs ETH to run. It can be like Apple and Samsung in a way: an iPhone X costs 2 times the price of a Galaxy S8 but Apple needs Samsung hardware to run.

NEO is interesting because it's Chinese which is a good (maybe the only - hello China's ban on ICOs!) way to talk to a quarter of humans being. But IMHO it's its only real quality: you can do everything NEO does with ETH, and so much more.

Money supply is a major issue for this ETH fork! Nobody knows how much ETHf there will be next month or next year. This is why BTC is money and ETHf is fuel for smart contracts. If you invest in ETHf you're investing in fuel.

Huh Am I looking at a scammer here? Got an email today saying I'll receive 10% after the fork. I was instructed to open my wallet from the following website:
My*****Wallet.store

Shocked Warning: I have not opened my wallet here. It seems unnecessary if a distribution is happening.

Edit: As requested, I made the Theft-link harder to click. Thanks for the replies. Why don't people help others in poverty so this stuff won't be so common? Money makes the whole world hate each other. Thanks Jamie, you whining SOB...

Yes, with 99.999% certainty, that is a scam. Dont follow such links. The real MEW is not at that address. I'm quite sure its a phishing scam.
