I stand by my strong recommendation. I would suggest that all users avoid utilizing this particular pool.

The server's time is listed in UTC. I just looked at your profile, and nothing is listed in the future. You are in the New York area, which puts you in the EDT (UTC/GMT -5 hours) timezone. The server uses a UTC timezone. Since the time on the server is now 17:43 (UTC), subtract 5 hrs from that, and it's 12:43 your time. More information can be found here: http://www.dxing.com/utcgmt.htmAdd welcome back to the pool.

FairUser, you may want to check that daylight savings time didn't mess with the calculations somehow. NYC time zone is UTC -4 now instead of -5.

Automation might be the issue. If the server is in a time zone that observes daylight savings time and the system clock got pushed an hour (if for some reason system time isn't UTC), then subsequent times displayed could be off by an hour until the time zone difference to UTC is re-evaluated.

And just HOW does this explain how their server "TIME" is off GMT/UTC is GMT/UTC it don't change FROM one page to another if they truely use utc ? If they cant get something as simple as "What TIME it is" RIGHT well Especially after they have been told in message and here on the board When they IGNORED AGAIN

It may have to do with where the time is sampled from for each page. Maybe there are two different get time methods or functions being used on the site. Also, they may not be ignoring you. The last response was less than 3 hours ago. They may just be going to work/school/sleep/whatever else any person may do when they're not on this message board. Give them some time to respond.

Oh I didn't Know this was just a hobby for them another reason to opt OUT U can opt put, if u want, who is stopping u? I saw some of ur posts & seems ur very upset. If u want bitcoin, there always the option of solo mining or u can create ur own pool. Also, if u want instant answers then better go to IRC Freenode, #bitcoin-discussion & #bitcoin-mining...

Oh I didn't Know this was just a hobby for them another reason to opt OUT AFAIK, they are the only pool who don't take a cut.... They also modified a miner in order to be able to accept more people in their pool. They have put alot of effort into this without any BTC and you are bashing them like no tomorrow. ON TOP OF THAT, it is in beta and is a brand new pool with decent hashrate You don't want to use this pool? GTFO instead of thread crapping and flaming.

Looks like yet another answer to the problem... people think they HAVE TO say something
Too true, sadly too true. Check out these hilarious examples: one, two.

bobR,
The reason the page might have time displayed incorrectly is because I have written thousands of lines of code in the past 3 weeks, and on top of that, have been making as many changes as I possibly can, as fast as I can, based on the suggestions of users in the forum.
All server times are stored in PST/PDT formatted in seconds from epoch. When displayed on the website, the correct number of seconds is added to those times in order to make it UTC/GMT timezone.
I add seconds instead of changing the system time so that I don't have to go into the database and manually correct the timestamp on everything. So, as far as the pool server is concerned, the time is correct. As far as the website is concerned, I'll get around to fixing it when I can.
Likewise, If you post one more time insulting us over something as petty as the displayed time on the website, I will ban your account and your IP without hesitation. You have absolutely no clue how much work goes into making this run or, how many lines of code I have to sift through in order to fix an issue when someone reports a problem.
I assure you, both FairUser and I have a long list of things that need written, fixed, or improved, and the displayed UTC time on one of the many pages that shows you the exact same datestamp, is not very fucking high on the priority list. We've been operating for a week, and the pool/site is still in beta. It takes time to iron out all of the kinks.
So, be patient, take some initiative, read some help files, politely inform us when you see something that might be a bug, and have fun mining.

Really? Epocs are generally stored in UTC by default and then converted to the server timezone. The problem with storing epoc's in pacific time is that say in the fall when the clocks go back, your epoc decrements by 3600 and you have duplicate timestamps. If the site is written in PHP, have a look at the gmtdate function as it'll do most of the work for you, provided you are using real epocs.

I'll elaborate. All times are stored in UTC, however the server is configured to be in PST/PDT timezone, which the server will adjust accordingly for. As opposed to changing my default timezones for everything on my server, or manually resetting the timezone in each PHP file, I wrote a single function that will adjust the displayed time offset accordingly. The function was added to a config/functions file that is called to from (almost) every page. In this instance, the a file that doesn't call to it is the user.php file, which is showing the time incorrectly. Oh I don't suppose you have forum banning abilities too? This guy is trolling elsewhere as well.
No, but if I choose to ban him from my server, he'll have no reason to post here.
