How the hell do I even get started? Granted I'm a total novice to this stuff but I don't have a clue how to set up a traditional mining set up or start with the game. I see a lot of people having trouble here but can anyone help out a beginner? I mean, I can't play the game without having coins first. But I don't know how to mine any to be able to play the game. Really excited about this coin but I can't figure out how to get started.

If you're a novice go elsewhere and mine something else. This coin is a cluster fuck.

I appreciate the warning man. Its too bad because the idea behind this coin has potential, which is why everyone is here frustrated with the launch.
Am I suppose to create a .bat file for cgminer? If so, what's the address and port I'm suppose to use?

Yeah, you'd create a bat file for your miner with the ip, port, username and password of the pool you're mining at or what you set in your config if you're solo mining.

Thanks man. Is this coin "merge mine" only or is there a dedicated pool for it? I haven't found any thus far.

ok i just lost all my coins / ingame characters too

how the hell i fix that so i dont loose again ?

The best way would probably be to stop mining for now.

It's broken, the dev is aware and is working on it.

seriously.. lost 1000 coins..

not so pissed about the coins. but more about hash wasted

We all wasted power. It was expected, just not in this way lol. I figured there would be problems with the game when I first heard of this coin.

However, I do support this coin and the dev seems to be a straight forward person and dealing with the issues as they arise kudos to you, sir.

but this will mean only a few people, on the right node will have 200,000 coins whilst everyone else now will get about 200 coins by the end of the day. if we stick around.

i can't justify this. i thought this coin was hot. but it hasn't a fair distribution

I wouldn't lose sleep over that, at this point I doubt that there is a good node. I believe all of them started good and started creating their own forks. I'm pretty sure this will have to be relaunched with a reset.

+1 on this. One of the most fucked up launches I've seen. Ridiculously low difficulty and blocks being mined every second = multiple forks.

I've deleted my blockchain info 3 times now and still end up down a dead-end fork. Anyone have any working nodes on the good fork? I assume this is the correct fork http://huc.explorer.dot-bit.org/ but who knows?

Mine seems to be in sync now, but if I go to console and type getinfo, I get the following echo:

00:56:48

getinfo

00:56:48

Error: ReserveKeyFromKeyPool() : pool is empty

Any ideas?

Also - I lost the 100 Transactions, so all those immature coins, zero matured Sad

huntercoind.exe -rescan -connect=192.241.222.65

it will not lag the fuck out like the qt but I think that node's forked too because I'm mining on it and I'm finding block after block with 10 mh.

also conf file affects huntercoind so this is what mine looks like:

rpcuser=
rpcpassword=
rpcconnect=127.0.0.1
rpcallowip=*
rpcport=8399
server=1
listen=1
algo=scrypt
addnode=192.241.222.65
connect=192.241.222.65

yes...

if that is the correct fork.. virtually no coins have been mined.. only ish 5k by the insta-miners

----

the problem is due to gametx and re-orgs..

keep at it Smiley

Look around on the forum and there's plenty of info.

If you have guiminer then in cgminer make a bat file and put this as an example.

C:\directory to where your folder is\guiminer-scrypt\cgminer\cgminer.exe --scrypt -o http://127.0.0.1:the rpcport number on the 1st post of the thread -u username -p password --gpu-platform 0 -d 0 -w 256 -v 1 -I 17 -g 1 -l 1  --thread-concurrency 6144 *** the --gpu onwards is set by selecting your card in the guiminer select box.

still  one minute blocks with 1 coins rewards. it will be harsh for people to stick around and keep hashing. the instamined must be what 10 connections? so 10 people will have between 4k . the rest with dificulty raising and the attention this coin will get will only get a few. prob 50 coins. if they stick around and keep mining..

there is miilion coins... with million of coins out there and low reward blocks, the start needs to be smooth and coins need to be distributed to as many pockets as possible. so when dificutly increases there is at least 200-300 satisfied miners.

I decided to check back here, looks like I'm on the wrong fork...but lots of chats going on here, gathering coins, lots of players. So not sure I should abandon this one..

Cannot connect with my GUIminer now and my wallet console is returning no info when I type in getinfo.

Wallet console says

01:07:20

Error: ReserveKeyFromKeyPool() : pool is empty

Whilst GUIminer returned error:

pool slow/down

These are the exact same settings I've been using all night, but now the wallet is staying in sync it isnt working?

i tested the idea that if you deleted your game.bat then your coins will vanish even if you were on the right node

Your coins will remain with just your wallet.dat. I deleted everything else to resync when I thought I was on my own chain earlier, and when I redownloaded the blockchain I still had most of it.

no.. u can delete everything but wallet and huntercoin.conf.. if your coins disappeared, it is because you was on the wrong chain.. keep your wallets tho, just incase you get back on the right one..

currently it seems the correct chain is at block 4600 - hardly any coins have been mined on the map.. so no one has "got rich" in this slight technical hitch Smiley

- i think ...

keep it up tho.. and everything will be ok
