Maxcoin is a coin for long term run...yup we all expecting pump soon, but even without it you probably noticed that max is the most stable currency in this crypto crisis. Devs are working hard on it, and there are several services that already accepted maxcoin as payment method. That is the great way for max to rise in price. Also max keiser is behind this coin so probably he will promote it and gain some media attention. Maxcoin is currently the best risk/reward investment. Even if you dont have much money to invest in it,you can buy 50-100 MAXcoins and wait for a year. You still have better chance to earn x100 instead of gambling.

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Which miner do you guys use?  I downloaded this miner: http://maxcoinpool.com/index.php    (The gpu one)  and my miner gets stuck at starting cgminer and doesn't start mining.
you have to use  it with option "--keccak" and try other miners, links on the pool:

MaxCoin (like most other coins) slowly loses value until someone pumps it. I've been able to trade up from around 4,000 to 8,000 coins selling at the pumps and buying at the dumps.

Whether MaxCoin gains mass acceptance is anyones' guess.

Of course though there was a time when Bitcoin itself was only a few cents and anyone who bought them got laughed at.  Those people who did had the last laugh though, I bet they were they were laughing all the way to the bank

Do you sincerly beleive that MAX will outperform BTC in the long run?
Nope, but it could easily hit 15-20$ and maybe more in 2015.

It was at that level one time Wink

But i really doubt it will be there ever again. This coin doesn't add anything new. It is just a plain coin...

Like bitcoin is a plain coin? MaxCoin brings plenty of new innovation to the table. SHA3 is a more efficient and secure hashing algorithm, and allows the hundreds of thousands of existing NVIDIA cards out in the wild to actually be useful for the purposes of mining crypto now. MaxCoin WILL retrace the drop, I am sure of it. This is called price exploration and despite rumours of it's death (the same thing the bears and haters were shouting and screaming about bitcoin when it fell from $26 to $1) this is in fact an extremely healthy market. Keep your eyes on MAX. It is going to surprise everyone. I am confidant MAX will emerge as the Altcoin KING of 2014.
Well said. This is maybe the last chance to buy max at this bargain prices in this year. I would suggest to everyone who wants to jump on to train to buy a little bit of max.

Funny thing is that absolutely same i can read on each coin which exists. Each coin have fraction of believers/dreamers which dream about be rich in future and which expect that his favorite coin do same like BTC.But it never happens. Its only dreams.

Who are the developers for this coin?

I saw BitcoinEXpress's post about attacking MaxCoin and want to talk about securing the coin. Time manipulation reduction on the blockchain and nodes and also securing the blockchain against 51% attacks which look to fork the chain and roll back transactions. If you are the dev give me a shout or can someone please let me know who to speak to. Steps can be taken to secure blockchains against attacks if developers care to do it.

Or the dev may just read that thread : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=552895.0

Virus in wallet - Variant.KAZY
Yep, it's not just your regular false positive trojan. Devs, please check your files!

edit: I don't know what a hell is it with all these false positives. You just get worried when your own antivirus software detects something bad.

Checking with virustotal.com: Wallet v0.9.1.0

https://www.virustotal.com/fi/file/e23fe8dddc165f8b06b3fa00e0e96269464114207b95b0df41d869e7ea9c445b/analysis/1396687886/

Detection ratio:    13 / 51

Seem like older wallet v0.9.0.0 had even more varying results

https://www.virustotal.com/fi/file/d99a80762ac920765e2d445a6ca5e6e2c18aeab793c32d46a39c288f1c907edd/analysis/1396688144/

Detection ratio:    18 / 51

It's probably false positive after all.

I apologize my rally english. | (COMM) CVHe5HzG61dq7yULUKss9xzYzWzJnenFBN

Just posted on the maxcoin forum. It seems the faucet on the official page isn't a faucet anymore, so i've setup a faucet on my site:

http://cryptocoinfaucet.appspot.com/?id=MAX

The faucet is running slowly, spare change can keep it running for a lot of time Smiley I've already filled it with some of my paltry amount, and it would be nice if anyone else can support it, this faucet cross promotes coins like a charm.

Faucet donation address -> mNz1UgjKfayQHNtG1p2ZMYTyvzbuN7Faz8

And if you're feeling generous and would like to thank the dev (me)  Wink Wink here's my address Smiley
