Taxes helps a lot , I have seen people frowning over about how they don't want to pay any taxes and as such.
Government ensures that if you earn over a certain amount then for sure you can contribute in the making of your country. It's only if you are able to.

    Paying the salary of government employees
    Making of roads
    Public schools
    Parks run by the government
    Maintenance fees
    Making government hospitals
    Making high schools ... The list is endless

We all use all these services at one part of the life or other therefore we can just consider it a little payment for that .
People frown how government is corrupt , it is but not entirely if it was then you woont see new projects coming up in your town or city.

It's just our responsibility to pay taxes, we shouldn't run from it because it will more or so be used for everyone out there in your country , you are indirectly helping others too through paying them , the less advantageous ones.

Also one might say government can print all the money they need , but that's not the case ..the more money a government prints the lower the value of their currency gets which genrally have adverse effects in many sectors.

In my point of view, tax makes the country run in harmony. We pay for our tax to let those who are in the authority function on their tasks to serve the public and to build infrastructure which we are conveniently using. Though taxes could possibly corrupted by those officials who leverage on public money, but being able to pay our taxes means we are obedient citizens of our country.

I am totally agree with your opinion, Even though their are people who are in the positions that corrupt the taxes. However, still their are people who makes good projects go to national development. Let's always look on the bright side , it seems to me that its good to know or to see that the taxes is going in the right projects of the government. And even if we do not want to pay taxes its our responsibility as a citizen of a country to help our nation in developing our country in many aspects. Hopefully the leader of a country will always do a great projects in the community.

Yes, we should pay taxes and everybody is liable to pay taxes. This is for our own good and for the good of the new generations. We pay taxes to improve our community and our nation. Improving and building new road and bridges so we can have a better transportation, building up new school, hospitals and other public buildings that can help our fellow people.

Yes everyone have an responsibility to pay taxes in the government as we are continuing using the services that the government offer for us that possibly improved our lives. I feel bad for paying taxes in my country cause the  taxes we pay did not use for building new school there are no new road, park etc. cause the goverment in my country corrupts the taxes and they put in their pockets and not use for developing the country.

Sometimes we are discourage to pay taxes because of corruption but we must pay taxes in order to make our economy grow. Infrastracture, free health benefits, free education & others there are just the main reason why we must pay our taxes. Corrupt officials will pay the price in the later life.

There's a lot of reasons that's why we should pay taxes.Governments taxation implemented is really good,if it will use enough for the country needs to develops. But,if those seated ranked personnel in the government are corrupts,people who pay their taxes will not be actually benifited of it.

Taxes are important if a governments need to work so if someone is cheating while paying the taxes then he will be punished with legal actions.In crypto currencies most of the people are not paying taxes and even many governments don't have proper taxes for its usage that is why the governments are trying to ban the usage because it if continues for a while then it will cause economical disaster in that country.

Many people want to hide from paying taxes to government but as a good citizen of a republic we should abide the laws by paying taxes to government.

I always want to pay taxes to the government, but my country has a lot of corruption! So I never wanted to contribute to my country. Every year many economic crimes are caught due to corruption. I am really very disappointed about my country. I can not change them.

You're right. Also taxes helps to the arm forces, penitentiary system and other primary institutes of a state. If no one will pay taxes, this country will be disintegrated and probably conquered by other countries. Nope, a country without a government will not turn into chaos. The citizens of that country will just have to privately fund critical services that is needed to sustain their way of life. They will pay for private security and they will privately build jails and fund infrastructure like roads and sewerage and water.

Taxes is the source of all corruptions and only those small scale workers are being hit with this government mandate while those big corporations are not paying taxes. Is this fair enough to all employees as they are deducted automatically from their monthly salary to feed up those corrupt government officials. Anyway, we came from different country as I only speak what I experienced from my beloved country. I know those progressive country had doing good from the taxes they have collected because they love their country but here in my country the officials are all greedy with the power and money they have.

Of course we should pay taxes because, as you said, we benefit from the things that are created from the money we pay to the government. The only problem is that sometimes taxes are spent on ridiculous things. I understand that roads, healthcare, education are really expensive, but there are things that could have been done better. That is a good list but you forgot about the defense system and salary for military personnel. Without it your country will be taken over by a stronger neighbour if you have any useful resources. Taxation is theft. "But who will build the roads" argument is really old and dumb, people are not some stupid monkeys who can't figure out things if no one guides them, there's nothing that can not be done privately and through voluntary cooperation (which is the same as privately).

People are always happy to see they won't be paying taxes for roads, hospitals etc, but when times comes to pay for private healthcare private roads, private water company they tend to do the same. Not pay.

What happens if you are in a third world country and there is massive corruption? You pay taxes and there are no roads, schools, or any essential public utilities. What you do see is the politicians and their cronies getting richer. Would you still argue that everybody should continue paying taxes?

Although the current government is doing its best to curb out corruption like increasing the salary of the policeman, there are a lot being tempted to accept bribe money. That's why you can't really blame someone doesn't want to pay their taxes because we know that it will just go to the pockets of corrupt government officials.

So basically it's not the government alone, it's also about the policemen, probably doctors, judges, administration and let's not forget that they can demand bribe but the ones paying and encouraging this practice are also guilty of this.
Since I live in Eastern Europe and my country is also a bit or more corrupted, I know this pretty well, people complaining about doctors demanding money, but still paying up the bribe and encouraging this practice...

This is the main reason why countries are trying to scare their citizens and make them pay upfront. You don't know where your taxes go and they can always think of some reason why this or that hasn't been done. A great improvement in this system is local taxation. In this system your money go directly to your local city council and are spent on roads, parks, pavements, schools, police, and so on, and you can demand them to give you the budget and value of the projects completed in the previous tax year. It makes it much harder for the money to vanish. Unfortunately not many countries allow for that. Most prefer all taxes to go to the capital and then be divided between local governments, so that they all get equal share (equality is another socialist idea that never seems to work as intended).

There is a small town close by, around 20 km from my home.
I can almost bet than 80% of the population is older than 70 and probably less than 5% is employed.
With no help from the central government and distribution of funds, how would they be able to afford police, doctors, firefighters?
Or do you think you have it in you to knock at their doors and say
"Yeah, I know you lived here for almost a century, you paid taxes all your life, but now you have to move cause I don't want my money paying for your bus or ambulance?"
Be honest, what would you do with those settlements?

Don't get me wrong I hate socialism from all my heart, second only to communism in which unfortunately I've lived but there is a huge difference between socialism and providing equal services for all the population.
After all, Denmark is not socialist (although many want to believe that)

And now on the subject, I think a lot of people are having the wrong idea about it.
Rather than being openly against taxes and avoid paying them, why not concentrate the effort on electing a parliament and indirectly a government that will not play around with our money?

My colleagues at work are one hell of an example, every coffee break they criticize the government, the mayor, the local council, but less than 1/4 have voted in the elections...
