the cheap one is us post office flat rate   medium box I think  that is about 6 to 10 days  to most of the world.

fedex is fedex one  is faster then the other.

one is about 6 days the other is about 3 days

what country are you in?

I am in EUROPE, so I don't know If i can take that flat rate 75 USD shipping, also I don't intend to pay tax to them because tax will be payed to my customs when it arrives to my country.

Also because my customs will be charging me TAX on complete value (Goods + shipping) it important to say that if i buy something for 200USD and shipping is 150 USD, customs will be charging TAX on 350 USD.

Because of that I don't want to for someone to return me overpriced shipping later because my expense would be expanded to bigger proportions because of VAT.

I think this is so unprofessional to start major operation without testing the web shop.

I am also from EU. GPUHoarder said that the VAT you pay on their side includes the import tax, so you should pay only once and customs should not charge you. Hovewer i have no hard evidence that it is really that way.

I really don't understand how they could pay TAX for me?
That doesn't sound right at all.

No one can pay tax in your behalf, only thing they must do is provide papers that states how much are the goods in USD, how much is the shipping in USD and state of origin that goods came from.
Otherwise it could happens that you pay TAX on all that together and that would be very bad.

And that is something that usually happens with USA companies that doesn't give a crap about EU market.

me neither. Something is wrong.

I have shipped many times from USA to EU (I am from Croatia) using Global shipping program, that charges me for import+shipping, and then my stuff was not stopped at customs.

@philipma: How did you paid for squirrelsresearch site with coins? I have option to pay only with ACH, what is not to easy from Brazil cause of hourly USD value changes.

They took down the option to pay with Crypto, only ACH.  Mineority accepts Crypto though.

Hi, thanks for response. I see Mineority site too, but purchase function are down, always getting erro after add product to cart, also shippiment are too expensive my needs are 2 adapters card and 4 acorn's but shippiment are over $370 for Brazil, on Squirrel site have option to pay "only" $75.

Do you know if Mineority shipp includes custom tax?

I did it with great difficulty.

Payments failed three times and on fourth try. Payment took.

But the website cancelled the order.

I then reported the issue here in this thread.

And to gpu_hoarder via pm

And to squirrels research email

And on the accord website.

I did this on the 14,15,16,17,18,19,20 of July and the order was fixed .

At this point you may be the lucky one as your coins are in your pocket.

Used Mineority and paid in crypto, no problems for the two Acorns.  Bought a Nest x2 from SQRL with no problems using crypto.

I was very pleased with the overall experience.

I placed two orders with SQRL on 7/13. I sent an email requesting a change in the delivery address on 7/13 to the support email address in the order confirmation email and received confirmation of an open ticket within a few minutes. On 7/17 I received a status update email, and then on 7/19 an email confirming my address change had been made and the first order was linked to my account that was created when placing the second order.

If you have issues, make contact and then be patient and let the support process happen. No complaints here.

They're just flapping their gums to hear some noise in the room.  I haven't seen any signs of such a thing and I followed them pretty closely for the past month.

yeah  I figured this.

Although  some actions by squirrels   show an attempt to protect its parent company.

in theroy airsquirrels is legit and the parent company

squirrel research  is the subset.

Well squirrel research  no longer takes  coins only bank orders

to use coin  you have to go to mineority to order  which is not a subset of airsquirrels  so suing airsquirrels on an order from mineority is harder.

also the payment company for coins   coin payments acts like a coin mixer (many do this)  so you can't tell  from the btc addy if 1 or 2 or 100,000 units were ordered.

My family has a lot of IRS trainign and accounting background.

My wife was a 33 year employee  a revenue agent now retired.
My mom was a  26 year employee an auditor now retired .
I worked in collections for them back in the 80's when I got out of the USN I then went back to school and got  a degree in accounting.

So  I can see concern and fear on this gear. For more then 1 reason.
I grabbed 2x 215+ and 1x nest x2g  total  785 usd.
I can live with that.

But  I can see the rumors happening.

Sure why not?

As long as you can afford  to lose the money  getting one to play with  is  okay.

Youre verry limited when it comes to pcie speed on h110, but a nest x2g solution would work.
Ie put 2 acorns and 4 vega's on a nest x2g.
If you want full boost of vegas, then something like nest x4 should work, 2 acorns and 2x m.2 to pcie x4 adapters and then have the vegas there running x4.

But with such a setup you need to trust that the nest boards dma engine works as they say, and eliminate the need for high throughput data comming to the motherboard.
It might be better to wait and see when the first batch is shipped and the reports gets in.

I got 2 215+ and 1 nest x2g  I will get it with multiple setups to see what I get out of it.

my cost was about 790 usd for that.

ordering a 215+  and then getting the second 215+ with the nest x2g is a safe play

worst case it is a 345 loss which is not terrible.

questions:

1) If I connect 2 of the nest X2G (with 4 total 215+) could I have 8 GPU's running through 2 x16 PCI-e interfaces?

2) If I decided that I didn't want to mine an FPGA algorithm, could I still mine other algorithms with the 8 GPUs through the same 2 x16 PCI-e interfaces without physical reconfiguration?

philipma -- I incorporated as an s-corp to better track/manage crypto mining/ops/trading... could you pm me or could I pm me some tips on accounting/tax stuff? or even some links to good info?  I'm pretty small time so far, have been filing quarterly stuff that is required.  I use bitcoin.tax for year-end stuff.  I like the s-corp pass-through model of income and it's not too much more complicated since I'm the only employee/shareholder/ceo/secretary/etc

Agreed.

Most of the suggested ideal configurations are 1:1, that adds a hefty cost overhead to a GPU.

There are too many unknowns in the air right now, I'm not saying this is an scam, at all, but SQRL is not being that straightforward or clear with the performance numbers for a product that is supposed to be shipping right now. Standalone mining is another big question mark, if viable at all.

Given how messy the ordering process is at this point, a wait and see attitude is best.

I dont get that did 2 orders with no problems.
They are straight forward and clear with the performance numbers, but you might have a hard time wrapping your head arround their numbers.

What i think is really shitty is that they have next to no information on the nest cards..
They have an onboard dma engine, so in theory you should be able to boost 4 gpu's using 2 acorns on a nest x2g card, IN A x1 motherboard slot. But noone want to confirm or deny.

For solo fpga mining youre the wrong place go buy a bcu1525, acorns are generaly to small to fit solo mining without to manny dirty tricks.

Well, I personally dont care if acorn will gave me 15% hashrate increase, but energy cost are my big problem, so if acorn really reduce energy cost at 60% this is really good deal for me, if I got 15% hashrate increases better, if not I dont care about.
