Does that mean I cannot go over my 'approximate maximum potential earnings' no matter how lucky the pool is?

Absolutely. Nobody gets to be payed over 100% PPS, however lucky the pool is. When the pool is lucky, older unpaid shares gets paid. It thus produces the fairest payout repartition, because no individual miner may benefit himself from pool luck.

This might seem unfair, and I guess it "is" for the first time your miner hits 100%, but in the long run it evens out since you too will have shelved shares to be payed out during the next lucky round.

This problem is known and has been widely discussed in this forum. NMC payouts have been suspended until this is sorted out. (But you should enter your address again so you get payed when it resumes)

Hey guys,
I've noticed that for the last couple of weeks I'm barely getting any namecoins (nmc) from mining. Instead of usual amount, I get around 1/12 for one miner address, and nothing for the other. What happened to merge mining and where are my coins now?  Roll Eyes

Ok, looks like previous poster just answered my question. Any ETA for the fix?

Well as long as shares getting accepted, should be okay. Eligius has never let me down when it comes to the real substance: payouts for shares submitted... maybe the web server daemon went down, not a big deal. You don't really need to stare at a stats page all day; it doesn't speed up the amount of BTC you are mining :p ... more likely, the more you look at stats, the more you feel you should be tweaking something or hopping off to another pool, when the reality is if just let it be, it all averages out at the end.

Someone seems to be DoSing the webserver.

I even received a ransom note via PM on this forum about it demanding 0.2 BTC. lol.

Working on it.

You are still not defining what you perceive as a problem. I have users mining with 50TH off one instance of cgminer
Try testing with a generation transaction of 100+ kB size.
Edit: Also, I would expect it to not affect high-end hosts. Probably just embedded and crappy miner-only hosts.
The host WAS mining on this pool with the 50TH without a problem

As for "crappy" miner only hosts, cointerra devices use "crappy" beaglebone boards and mine on this pool with 1.6TH per instance at 3% CPU usage.

So how big is the current generation transaction?
As I said, we had to workaround this problem.
So the Eligius coinbases today will never get big enough to trigger it.

ACK! I saw the web page was down earlier, but now I see that my miner no longer sees Eligus pool as alive. Any status on what's going on and when it will be back on-line and reachable? Showing pool as Dead and Stratum active: False.

Thanks
