Is the pool having issues or is it just on my end? I have some miners saying the pool is alive and some miners saying it's dead.
Had a couple disconnect for a bit, but not all and back to normal now. Me too. As of about four hours ago I see that two of my miners seem to have rebooted themselves. I say reboot because they both have Uptime of a little over three hours. WhizKid or Luke? any thoughts?? If a pool could reboot your miners, there is something wrong with the miner...

FYI,
Every couple of hours, with no descernable periodicity, all 9 of my S1's roll to the backup pool for about 15-20 minutes then shift back to Eligius.
Smells like: a DOS on Eligius, miners roll to backup pool, backup pool indicates hashing, DOS ceases, and miners roll back to Eligius.
Annoying.
My backup pool is Ghash. Betcha' they're screwing around to gain mining revenues. But no proof.
Any thoughts WK? Whatcha' seeing on the server side?

The previous has been going on, increasing in duration over the last couple of days. Initialy thought it might be my ISP screwing up, but have had connectivity during the last event.

I to have several s2 miners drop off for some reason seems like the past several days this has been happening.
Not sure why.
I was thinking of a DDOS attack for a Internet traffic or routing issue between me and eligius.

I'm getting a fraction of the proper hash speed. Yet nothing looks wrong. Is that mitm thing going on again? M EDIT: to clarify, all 2.2 TH/s is going through a proxy to eligius. It was showing difficulty of 128, and not acting like there was 2.2 TH/s going there, ie, not pages of hashes between restarts. Yet the miners reported proper speeds, and stats showed me running at 1/20th my normal speed. I just restarted the proxy, things look normal again.

Well - the "uptime" [or lack there of] is what I refer to as a reboot. I don't think a couple of them would just totally reboot. But my symptoms are like what the others have seen. My apologies to be drastic saying a "reboot".

Well I have been mining at a luck rate of 40 to 50 for over 12 hours now. This is gettin a bit old. 6TH of hash power almost wasted lol. Anyone else seen this performance.

Didn't "Mister Nice-Guy" from China tell us all that he could hire a couple of hackers for attacking the pool? Smells like this.
What disappoints me a bit is the fact that other pools seem to give a shit about what's going on, not withholding Brucie's funds or anything. Seems that profits for the pools is more important than the miners. Eligius cares about the persons who also build the pool - the miners - and gets attacked...

Yep I totally agree.
With out registration he has no way to control who and what. They can hit and or miss anytime they want.
Just not right

Very sad that people can do this to us, GREED is a very human trait.

hmmm.. it seems the problem happens every 30 hours for me like clockwork; I have had exactly 5 instances over the last 4 days. If it continues this way, I expect to see another blip in a few hours.

Hi - any chance of getting an SSL certificate for eligius.st? I would like to be able to view my balance/status over SSL, if possible. Also, it would be nice to mine over SSL if software supports this. I am happy to fund this SSL cert just let me know via PM.
Cheers,
Will

I am not sure what the benefits would be for viewing your balance/profile page over SSL when the page is publicly accessible.

Very Very strange, every 30 hours seems about right. If it was me i would be blocking all ip from China. And see if that helps mitigate the issue.

I agree on the 30 hours. This means if it holds true, we have less than 4 hours before the next attack begins. That should make it around 10pm CST.

Also, it would be nice to mine over SSL if software supports this. I am happy to fund this SSL cert just let me know via PM. BFGMiner and Eloipool both support TLS (which replaced SSL), but IIRC wizkid057 didn't want to deploy it until he had checked on how much it would increase server load. Very Very strange, every 30 hours seems about right. If it was me i would be blocking all ip from China. And see if that helps mitigate the issue.
China is a big place, and has a lot of miners.

This is more of our miners reporting the pool is dead and going to backup pools than just bad luck.
