*Fair Warning* - The following is mad sciency. In that I can't read the chip number and don't have an oscilloscope. Assumptions were made! I don't really expect anyone to mess around with this. I was not expecting to break the pin on this chip when I was lifting it. it didnt take much.

So, It ran for a week at full voltage with no apparent ill effects besides some wasted power. Finally got around to regaining control with an Arduino board. Went on a mission downtown to find some DAC chips. Made myself a lovely Dual DAC arduino setup, only to discover I didnt need them. it was a PWM signal. An arduino on its own can easily do the job.

Things seemed a bit off tho. The Blade didnt activate when I had the PWM duty cycle 175/255. Then I started high and worked my way down to 200 and was in the 0.95V range. Im leaving it there a bit. Going to add buttons/lcd or run a serial connection so I can do more testing when i have the time. I realized after that my PWM frequecy was only 750hz and was probably the source of the weirdness.

Fascinating...

 How did you determine that the PWM 20% duty cycle is correlated to the 0.95V?  That seems like some arcane magick right there.

 Also, what resource(s) did you rely upon to use Arduino for that dual DAC setup?

Marvelous work there.  Will be something else to see how far you get with boosting output.

Does anyone know if there is a way to ignore temperature readings in the config file?  I have a miner that runs for a few hours then it will say it has a temp of 9999 and reboots.  The speeds while running are fine, but because of the constant reboots, it slows it down considerably.

Is there a command that would disable the auto reboot or ignore the temperature?

Thanks!

I have been working on the A9 firmware with a beta tester and the results are looking good.

The voltage and freq for all chains have been able to update not just 1 chain or to a certain limit. This is a copy of the first test results over a 4 hr time period.

Aug 20 10:06:51 InnoMiner mcompat_lib[4314]: chain0: set vid 160 -> 195
Aug 20 10:07:12 InnoMiner mcompat_lib[4314]: chain0: chip0 set pll 283(798MHz) -> 385(1620MHz)
Chain0 is ok

Aug 20 10:07:25 InnoMiner mcompat_lib[4314]: chain1: chip0 set pll 150(300MHz) -> 283(798MHz)
Aug 20 10:07:27 InnoMiner mcompat_lib[4314]: chain1: set vid 160 -> 192
Aug 20 10:07:46 InnoMiner mcompat_lib[4314]: chain1: chip0 set pll 283(798MHz) -> 385(1620MHz)
Chain1 is ok

Aug 20 10:07:59 InnoMiner mcompat_lib[4314]: chain2: chip0 set pll 150(300MHz) -> 283(798MHz)
Aug 20 10:08:01 InnoMiner mcompat_lib[4314]: chain2: set vid 160 -> 192
Aug 20 10:08:20 InnoMiner mcompat_lib[4314]: chain2: chip0 set pll 283(798MHz) -> 385(1620MHz)
Chain2 is ok

work is still in progress but the first test I would say went ok. The average stable hash rate was at 64 k/sol with peaks as high as 70+ k/sol

That's interesting! So you found the root password to the new firmware A9?

Right now we are doing it using putty and ssh. It was a little tricky for the tester to get control of the files but he did it, my part was making the changes.

I heard you can set your pc clock back 2 yrs the update the A9 to a older firmware version that has ssh ability.

Even more interesting would be whether anyone has been effective at gaining root on this (or the previous) firmware.
