report:

my single a9 is running stable at >50ksol/s.  10% fan speed right now, not too loud.

good build quality. easy to setup.  no complaints so far.

Good day,
Which pool the most profitable at the moment?  Do you use wallet in the exchanges?
Which exchange you are using to exchange ZEC to EUR  or USD?
I will get my first A9 on Monday, I would be appreciated for recomendations

Same, wondering if there's a chance they'll release firmware with option to increase clock speed (e.g like the Bitmain z9 minis.) Temps seem to suggest there's some thermal headroom.

Maybe they will release a higher clocked version. Like the D9.

My 1st A9 is on the DHL truck out for delivery today. I have Slushpool and Flypool ready to go. Yesterday with my 3 GPU rig(2x 1080ti + 1x 1080) I made a even $4 in zcash with Slushpool. Today I'm trying Flypool with the GPU rig as a comparison, to early for data. I'm going to start the A9 on Slushpool and see how things progress. I'm going to 'try' to throw up some youtube vids of this entire journey. I've never done Youtube vids before so I'm sure they will stink but the data might be useful.

I retract my last post. I just got a delivery notification that a partial delivery was made to a address with the same street name and number in a city 280 miles from me. I don't know if it was the power supply or the miner, it was coming in two boxes. I'm supposed to get a call back within two hours from DHL with trace information. This is a disaster...

WOW! I retract my last post, thank God! DHL just left my house. He delivered two boxes, one small and one large both addressed from the AliBaba supplier I ordered from. I talked to him about the partial delivery and he said he accidentally scanned one of my boxes at a business just a few blocks from me, Dr. Vapor. He realized his mistake and put it back on the truck. He had no idea why the online tracking showed it being delivered 280 miles from me in Jacksonville FL. He did say that the online tracking for DHL shows items being located in Jacksonville when they are actually coming out of Pensacola. I don't know but I got two boxes, haven't opened either yet, I've got to get my BP down! So I'll report back once I get things going.

Ok, it's all hooked up and running. I'm mining Slushpool for about 5 minutes.
Right now my hash rate is 17.6 kh/s which is way too low, hopefully this will increase shortly.
I'm using "balanced" mode on the miner, are you guys using factory?
Also I have not updated the firmware, is this something I should do?

Thanks

Grin I should have used that, was too worked up to think straight!

My temps are showing 70/71/69 for all the hash boards. Is this about right?
On slushpool I'm showing:
52.43 kh/s
5 minutes contribution to the pool.
I'm on Balanced mode.
The miner is very very quite but the Innosilicon power supply sounds like a jet engine.

Does anyone find that performance mode is actually any faster?

I don't see any difference between it and balanced.

The power draw is exactly the same from the wall which leads me to suspect it's not implemented yet.

If you watch the miner logs it ramps up the clock speed to 1250 and stops on both settings:

Jul 16 22:53:55 InnoMiner mcompat_lib[26727]: A1 PLL Clock = 1248MHz
Jul 16 22:53:55 InnoMiner mcompat_lib[26727]: A1 = 1230,352
Jul 16 22:53:55 InnoMiner mcompat_lib[26727]: A1 PLL Clock = 1224MHz
Jul 16 22:53:55 InnoMiner mcompat_lib[26727]: chain 2 set PLL Lv.355 success
Jul 16 22:53:56 InnoMiner mcompat_lib[26727]: chain 0 pll 1250 finished
Jul 16 22:53:56 InnoMiner mcompat_lib[26727]: chain 1 pll 1250 finished
Jul 16 22:53:56 InnoMiner mcompat_lib[26727]: chain 2 pll 1250 finished

I can confirm that. It does not make any difference between these modes.

Are you guys using the Innosilicon PSU? If so is your fan spinning at 100% all the time? Mine is so loud.
I'm thinking about buying a few of these:
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=1W7-001B-00004
I can then place the PSU through the wall in the hot room.

Also is there anyway to manually control the fans on the A9? I'd like to ramp those up a bit since they are running at 10 to 15% but my temps are at about 70c per board. I'd like to make it run a little cooler.

Thanks

i also do not see much of a difference in performance mode.  i feel like innosilicon could really overclock this thing.  my temps sit around 67C/71C/67C in a 73F ambient environment...and fan speed never goes above 10%.

Id like to see PLL clock increase considerably and fan speed hit something like 50%.

Sometimes on a fresh reboot, i can get super fast hash rates at the start when the cards are cold....not sure if its a fluke in how it calculates it, but I see upwards of 60-70Ksols, until the temp goes up to >60C.

innosilicon would not give me ssh password over official tech support email without any reason.

yes my fan speeds sit at 10% and temps 69C. Would be very nice to get a bit more out of this before the market is flooded. Would having the root password give ability to increase clock speeds? Judging by the root passwords on their other ASICs being all lowercase and numbers ~8char might not be hard for someone enterprising to find it Smiley

We could take off the two fans but leave them connected ( I'm assuming the unit would shut down if it read improper fan speeds). Replace the fans with aftermarket and run them full tilt boogie. I'd really like to cool mine down and maybe it would increase the hash? I also have it running in my house with about 75 temps so it should be much cooler but the damn fan sits at 10% occasionally jumping to 15%.

Is there any reason to do the firmware update? Mine's hashing at around 50 so I'm thinking if it ain't broke don't fix it?

I just tried Factory and the only change I see is that now the admin graph is reporting correctly. On balanced it showed 200+ hash! ahha Now on Factory it's showing about 53, but I see no difference on Slushpool at all. I don't have a watt meter so can't speak on that.

Ok I just tuned Performance. First thing I noticed was my temps are down in the high 50's. 58/58/57
Fan speed is up to 20%.
Hash has hit bottom but I'll let it sit a bit to see if it recovers.
Slush
22.24 kh/s
5 minutes

I was hanging around 50 on Balanced.

After a few more mins my temps are back to 70/71/71. My hash on Slush back to about 50. The admin graph is showing i'm up to 171 hash! lol. I'll give it a few more mins then going back to balanced. I see no benefit at this point.

firmware update will help show correct hash rate on the innosilicon admin page
